had my 50th birthday party in the upstairs room food was excellent and the staff very attentive. It made my day special and we will definitely be going back for my daughters 30th next year.

Al Fresco – StockportAkbars was very good a while back, but recently the food is average. Hardly any dish's taste different. It is cheap though if your on a budget. It's very busy due to high numbers of asians who go there as they like value for money rather than quality
Akbars – Manchester City CentreWe went to this restaurant on the 20/12/08 and as always it was excellent!. We have eaten here about 4 times and each meal has been different and faultless. This really is one of the best (If not the best) Italian's in Manchester. I would fully recommend that you try this one if you like Italian.
Due Fratelli – ChorltonRule 1. Never judge a book by its cover. The surroundings may not be as upmarket as other town centre restaurants, but to be honest when your getting food as good as this it really doesn't matter. Took a gamble and visited as a family birthday/Christmas present and even the damn veggies where oooiinngg and arrring from start to finish. Service was excellent and nothing too much trouble, a special request for chunky chips (which where delicious by the way) no problem. Having been let down in the past by overpriced restaurants with great surroundings and average food, Kosmos is a welcome change. Would recommend to anyone who appreciates great food. Dec 2008
Kosmos Taverna – FallowfieldThe smokey Jack Daniels Glaze is to die for.... the food is excellent... best meat dishes in town! Busy place/ popular, but attentive service from table staff. Enjoy!
TGI Fridays – PrestwichTried Dough Yesterday evening after just moving to the area. This is a no brainer alternative to the pizza hut and pizza express chains, the food is far superior and the DOUGH is home made on the premises... you can taste the difference. Had the Xmas pizza! very festive very filling very tasty and i got a starter and a mince pie and coffee for £11! excellent value. Staff were really friendly and definitely an experience I will be doing again and recommending others do!
Dough Pizza Kitchen – Northern QuarterI'm no foodie but I know what I like. I was hungry and was out with three foodies. I've had a nice in Japanese meal in Manchester and Wilmslow before but all for of us agreed that this was the best authentic Japanese meal in the city. The service was helpful without being intrusive and the sushi platter was enjoyed so much that we ordered another straight after the first. Fresh, tasty and well presented. As is the style these days the kitchen was open and the cooked meat dishes were enjoyed by all. Bottled Asahi and Sapporo suited our taste and the manager had gone to great lengths to ensure that the food was at the top of the agenda. The menu was extensive too without breaking the bank in this credit crunch era. We'll be back and get a green tea in :-)
Tokyo Season – Manchester City CentreA friendly pub atmosphere with excellent service. The food was prompt, hot and totally delicious. We recommend the home made chunky chips and the Cheesy Garlic bread. We have booked 13 seats for an Xmas lunch and expect to thoroughly enjoy ourselves.
The Harrows – RochdaleVery disappointed. Used to be a very nice restaurant but seems to have gone downhill since the new management have taken over. Don't bother trying to call them to book a table of order a take away...no one answers the telephone! Trust me....i left it on re-dial for 90mins! We eventually popped in (it was our favourite place to eat in didsbury so gave it the benefit of the doubt), told the manager but he seemed uninterested. The food came barely warm and needless to say we wont be eating there again.
Laughing Buddha – DidsburyWent on Saturday evening with hubby and had a really good meal. Beautiful fillet steak and excellent value. Had much better meal than we've had at other more expensive Italians in the area.
Casa Belmondo – RoytonWe went here on Saturday night before going to the theatre and all i can say is that the service was terrible and it ruined my evening, all we wanted was a nice meal before we saw the show and what we got was the rudest of staff and terrible service, we wanted a nice relaxed 3 course meal but as the service was so bad we just ate a pizza and went - i will never go back !
Giovannis – Manchester City CentreWe had booked a party for upstairs and I have to say Dhanak Deira was fabulous. Lovely place, excellent food, really good atmosphere and the most obliging Waiters and Managers around. We had ordered a combination of Indian and Chinese food and it was delicious. I highly recommend Dhanak Deira and cannot wait to go back there.
Dhanak Deira – BoltonMy 7 year old daughter and myself went to Spicy Hut again on Friday evening. My family have been many times before, the food is amazing and so are the staff. The lamb starter and lamb shashlik melts in your mouth, the best restaurant in Rusholme bar none. Thank You Spicy Hut for the present.
Spicy Hut – RusholmeThe moon was disappointing, the portions were small compared to any Indian restaurant I have ever been to. The food was tampered to meet the British market. In my opinion, if you want a real Indian meal, you should go to saajan original on the corner opposite lal quila in rusholme or sanams. These restaurants are the true thing APNA as the Asian people say .Any body who recommends this place does not know what real Indian food is.
Moon Indian Restaurant – DidsburyI went to this restaurant on Saturday night with friends…it was packed out and we had to wait in line to be seated for about 15 minuets but as they were so busy we didn’t mind waiting, when we finally got seen to our table had been taken so we were left hanging around the bar area for a while for them to find us a table and after about 10 minutes a nice apologetic guy found us one down stairs which was quieter and better for us, the waiters and staff were very friendly and efficient and everything was going well until I decided to pay the ladies a visit and I have never been so disgusted in all my life, the sanitary bin in the ladies was actually overflowing with dirty sanitary towels and even stained tissue, I have been to festivals and the toilets have been nicer than and I think it is absolutely not acceptable. I did report this to a member of staff that did seem concerned and apologized and said he would sort it out, it has really put me off visiting La Tasca’s now and seen as we traveled 60 miles round trip to visit this restaurant I am very disappointed!!!!
La Tasca – Manchester City CentreTerrible!! We were in Manchester Christmas shopping and wanted a nice meal to cap off the day. Upon arrival everything seemed very promising, good atmosphere, nice place. We had an 8.30 booking and showed up early. We were seated straight away and had a lovely table in the window. Wine and starters arrived very quickly and were quite tasty. I had ordered the lamb shank for my main course and it arrived shortly after our starters were taken away. It was stone cold inside, so we sent it back. I was sent another one which was also cold.....someone cannot work the microwave! Anyway - I didn't want a third. I then waited 30mins for a portion of lasagna and by this point my partner had completely finished! A second bottle of wine came by way of an apology (nobody actually said "sorry"). It's a good job we were in high spirits because we did see the funny side! I decided to order a pudding to finish off this "delightful" meal, so went for Pannacotta......it was still frozen inside!!! Nobody cooks in this restaurant...I will say no more.....
Giovannis – Manchester City Centrevisited the black ladd last Friday lovely cosy restaurant friendly and informative staff. good simple food had sirloin steak which was cooked to perfection as was the veg and a special mention for the chips best I've tasted in a long time and would return just to sample those again would and already have recommended to friends
The Black Ladd – OldhamI ate here yesterday evening and was very impressed. The sushi was the freshest I've tasted and the main noodle meal I had was the nicest I've had for a long time.
