Decided last minute to bob down to the Traders, so glad we did. Excellent food and service. Very friendly atmosphere and extremely good value for money.

Everything was cooked perfectly. I had the slow cooked ribs to start which fell off the bone, but the star of the show was the steak from the local butchers. It was melt in the mouth delicious!

Yesterday was mine and my partner's 1st time having food here and the experience we had we will definitely be returning, everything from the food to the staff the food was delicious well presented and piping hot all the way through, the staff were warm and welcoming from the moment you walk in to the amazing table service, bar staff are friendly and helpful and I will definitely be recommending this place overall an amazing visit

Our party of 7 thoroughly enjoyed our lunch on Tuesday. The staff were thoughtful and helpful in their service. All the food was excellent. Came on hot plates and very tasty.

Second visit in 4 weeks. First wasn’t great but having eaten here on several occasions i knew it was a one off. This time back to usual standards of good food and great staff. As always a good selection of meals very reasonably priced. Definitely back again soon.

Pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. Found an improvement since our last visit in November last year but really feel that a few simple tweaks would make the food so much better at very little cost eg have a choice of mash or new potatoes with steak pie and fresh veg rather than chips and garden peas. The chicken stroganoff was lovely but serving it over the top of the rice ( I immediately thought the five had been forgotten) wasn’t exactly the best idea. Sorry to be a little negative but just a little more thought would really make a difference.

Our first visit to the Trader's since the take-over, and we were delighted with the improvements. The excellent lunch menu contained everything a pub lunch should have so we didn't need to look at the wider choices. Two of us chose the fish and chips and the other the steak pie, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. With desserts of sponge pudding for one and creme caramel for two plus coffee, we left happy and looking forward to returning! The service was very good, and we spotted people we knew who were clearly enjoying the experience also.

Visited with family for Sunday lunch and food was as enjoyable as ever, with a large variety on offer on the menu including 3 Sunday roast options. I thoroughly enjoyed the roast chicken breast and its accompaniments, plus the cauliflower cheese as an extra. Other members of our party had delicious meals too. Service was brilliant and we will return again in the near future.

Fantastic food, excellent service the staff were very attentive nothing was too much trouble, would highly recommend.

Initially on seeing the menu I thought it was a rather poetic description of the usual pub fare we see so often. But I was wrong each dish that we had was of exceptional quality and a far cry from the mass produced microwaved selection that often insult our palates. My compliments to the chef for a well thought out menu of high quality foods that really stood out from the culinary crowd. The best light and crispy batter and ‘proper’ chips I’ve had in a long time. Sadly the menu did not have all our choices available as they are about to change their menu. This in itself was an indicator that careful consideration is given to the quality of the foods on their menu. The service was also exceptional and nothing was too much trouble for the girl serving us. Thank you.

Visited 9th August and decided to have the duck. Turned up overcooked and returned 2nd duck also overcooked chef should know duck is served pink. In there defence this was my 3rd visit and first bad meal i was offered another meal but my wife and friend were half way through their meal. Wasn’t charged for my meal and staff were great and the food and drink reasonably priced. Won’t put me off visiting again has anyone can have a off day.

I visited on Friday with friends up from the midlands. We all really enjoyed our meal. They thought it was great value for money and excellent. The staff were excellent. There was nothing negative. Keep up this standard.

I visited The Traders yesterday with my brother and sister to celebrate our birthdays. The table was booked for 1pm and we arrived at 12-50pm. We placed our orders for main courses which arrived at 1-45pm! I had asked one of the waitresses if they usually took so long to get their orders out and she said that they were a chef down and only had a trainee chef. The servings were minuscule and would have been insufficient for a seven year old! My sister and I agreed that we would have a pudding but were then advised that there were no sponge/ pancakes/ trifles of the day! A very disappointing visit, especially as we had not visited for some time and had received good reports about the place. I complained about the long wait and the small portions and received an apology. Could not possibly recommend this establishment to anyone.

Excellent meal, thank you. We were a party of five and we're well looked after. Really delicious food and great service.
