Nice pub with disabled access, friendly service, good food and nice surroundings. We have been a few times to this pub and have not been let down.
The Willows – BlackburnVisited this pub a few years ago and it was OK then but years on and a return to the pub and Wow, what a transformation. It now offers disabled access, it allows superb views, it has some fine beers and lagers and the food is very nice with some interesting specials on offer. I would have liked to score this pub bad and say stay away but that would be me trying to stop other folk going then I would be guaranteed a good seat every time I went.
Grey Mare Inn – BlackburnThe Shajan is the VERY best Indian restaurant that I have ever been to -- and yes, I have been to a great many all over the country ( and some in other countries as well). The staff are excellent, the food heavenly, the atmosphere heavenly .......... etc. I could go on and on. I have never had to wait long myself, and I always go to the bar first. The manager is one of the nicest, most welcoming men you could hope to meet as well.True, it can get VERY busy, so book your table in advance --- or do like I do, get there as soon as it opens! I go about every two weeks ( more if I can), and only have good things to say about the place. I hear that some people say they get rushed! Well I for one have NEVER found that to be the case, and I usually spend around two hours there each time I go! If you like Indian food --- it DOESN'T get better than this place.
Shajan – BlackburnExcellent food at a price you would expect for this kind of quality. I am of Asian decent and asked to make my Chicken Shajan a medium/hot and did I love it. Starter and pop's were very good, very up pleasant experience on I would take my family to for sure :).
Shajan – BlackburnWe have been 3 times now - our first 2 visits merited 'outstanding' all round, but we were very disappointed on our 3rd (and probably last) visit - not so much on the food, although we did feel this was slightly below par, but service was nowhere near as good as previous visits (we did wonder if this was because we were drinking only water - be warned, tap water is 50p per glass!)
Yu And You – BlackburnMine and my wifes favourite restaurant. You are made to feel very welcome from entering the restaurant to leaving. The food and service is first class. We have tried the whole range of curries and have never been let down. The bangladesh specials are very good. Also a good range of indian beers and even a indian malt whisky. Do not miss out on this great restaurant.
Sylhet – Blackburnhad the giants Plate did not realise what G.P meant till i got the plate i had surf and turf, I counted how many pieces of scampi i had there was 26 on my plate including a big piece of steak chips mushrooms onion rings, peas and carrots i could not eat it all!!Great value for money and good food really extensive menu as well, would definitely go again..
Windmill Hotel – BlackburnDelicious food, great service, professional outfit.
Cinnamon – BlackburnThe staff were very good and the atmosphere was lovely. The food looked very nice, but unfortunately it tasted very bland. It was very expensive for what it was and we would be reluctant to go again unless we hear of better reviews,
Frankie and Bennys – BlackburnI went last month with my family and it was excellent. Great value for money, I will definitely be going back.
Windmill Hotel – BlackburnA perfect (long) lunch venue, outstanding value for the quality, flavour and presentation of the food you are served. Unlike other restaurants their 'set' lunch menu food quality is not compromised despite being at a cost of less than you can pay in some pubs. Relaxed atmosphere, attentive service, real log fires, just perfect.
Northcote – BlackburnTHE BEST FOOD I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE KEEP IT UP!!!
Balti House – BlackburnCannot fault the food, it was perfect, and imaginatively presented to boot. Service was impeccable but would prefer a more lively ambience - can get stuffy at times.
Northcote – BlackburnWe called in mid-week and were more than satisfied with the great choice of food. Service was excellent. Staff friendly and helpful. We noticed that the Sylhet did a roaring trade in "take away". Will almost certainly go again.
Sylhet – BlackburnI would say that this was quite an experience, this is one of these places where you can feel that the staff although proud of their work don't set out to make you feel out of place and this is such breath of fresh air when dining on the so called fine dining scene nowadays. I would say that you are probably looking at one of the north west foodists destination of the near future especially if you consider the level of the competition around. I would say that if the neighbouring one star michelin are means of assessing this restaurant it would already be 2 stars in my book highly recommended
Mr Freds @ Stanley House – BlackburnWe held our Wedding Reception here in May 2006 and I really cannot sing highly enough of it. The entire day was perfect, the staff were faultless and made us feel like royalty. The food was to die for and we are still receiving compliments 12 months on about the pink champagne! Thank you Northcote for a truly memorable day.
Northcote – BlackburnFantastic the toilets were very clean. marvellous meal marvellous service marvellous staff Brilliant
Shajan – BlackburnHave been going here for a good number of years. Generally good Italian cuisine but not many italian staff! Despite always booking never expect to sit down usually up to an hour later than your booking time. Also they also seem to have a high staff turnover of waiting-on staff, usually college age people. Went recently and no rest period between first and second course which I find unacceptable. Despite the above the spare ribs are our fave...the garlic bread to die for... the pollo ala creme yum yum and my favourite the calzone pizza
The Pack Belthorn – BlackburnChoose from a selection of mains plus a tea/coffee or dispensed soft drink, £13.95. Available Monday to Friday 12pm-2pm.
