First time visit to this lovely intimate restaurant. Did not know what to expect, however, needn’t have worried, the meal was excellent and well-presented. Portions might be a bit on the small side for some, but typical of fine dining. Would definitely book again. NB there is a small public car park at around 250 metres otherwise it is on street only

This was my second lunch visit to Menu Gordon Jones and a great way to celebrate my wifes PhD graduation. Yet again it was superb in every way. Every course was so delicious and perfectly presented that it was both a lovely surprise to receive them, as it was shame every time you finished them. The atmosphere was wonderfully laid back and in no way pretentious, while the music provided plenty of late teens nostalgia. The hosting was warm and familiar, but in no way overbearing, with win offered at welcome intervals and water provided (no upsell to get still or sparkling bottles) and presented in a unique way. It was little touches like that and the all-round quality of the food that means we have to come back in the spring, when I am sure they will be showcasing the best the season has to offer.

Delightful lunch, space to talk in comfort, exquisite flavoursome food, fabulous value too. Don’t hesitate to book just do it and you’ll enjoy the whole amazing experience.

Pleasant staff and interesting food. I wish the service had been better, Also was sat by the 'polythene' windows and it was cold.

Another lovely visit to Olive for a late lunch to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. We both had an amazing meal again, choosing from their new menu. The dishes looked incredible and tasted delicious, we also found room for a slice of their gorgeous cakes..we both can’t wait to go again.

The good was really delicious and generous portions . I had the scallops with a Bloody Mary sauce which was gorgeous .A lovely lady served us and accommodated all our needs . Very good value I would definately recommend Atmosphere was a little less but it was January and a grey miserable lunchtime so not surprising

The service we had was good considerate and speedy. The soup was excellent and hoter than I have had in a restaurant previously. The main course was also excellent and again very hot on arrival at the table. The menu was comprehensive and inclusive. We have been before and we shall definitely go again

My second visit to Olive Kitchen, and just as impressed this time. Service is friendly and efficient, and the flavours are excellent. The menu is interesting and well balanced.

This isn’t just going out for lunch or supper, it’s an experience! The food is beautifully prepared and presented and tastes exquisite. The subtle mix of textures and flavours makes you excited to get to the next course while also feeling a bit sad that the meal will have to come to an end! Gordon came to explain each course to us and you get a menu at the end of the meal. This means that each course comes as a surprise. Each surprise was so well worth it. The atmosphere is relaxed and so well managed and enhanced by Amelia who is so welcoming and knowledgeable about wines to accompany the food. To eat food made to this exceptional standard makes Chef Gordon Jones value for money.

Visited yesterday lunchtime as a birthday treat, having had a personal recommendation. We loved everything about the experience. Each course was exquisite but also the beautiful and quirky touches as to how everything was presented, being able to chat with Gordon as he worked, the warm friendly welcome, the music, etc etc.. One of the best dining experiences we can remember, and we've had a few being married for 46 years. Seems crazy to give 5/5 for value for money when it would clearly be out of reach for very many, but what a treat if you can manage it. We'll be back.
