Christopher’s Caribbean Carvery at The Royal Oak – BromsgroveI don’t usually write reviews but feel I need to. We were stood waiting for 25 mins to be seated even though we’d booked a table and paid deposit. We booked for 5 people and paid for deposit for 5 people and was given a table for 4. We tried to add a chair but was told we couldn’t. It then took about another ten minutes to be seated to get a table that fit us all. We then had to wait a further 20 minutes to be called up to get our carvery. The meat was nice but all the food was cold and the Yorkshire puddings and potatoes were rock hard. Also had no mac and cheese and no children’s menu. Unfortunately I wouldn’t come back, it wasn’t a great experience and very stressful for my toddler too.
Christopher’s Caribbean Carvery at The Royal Oak – BromsgroveWe had the carvery, very nice meal no waiting about, the staff were really pleasant.

Christopher’s Caribbean Carvery at The Royal Oak – BromsgroveAmazing food and service Good relaxing atmosphere
Christopher’s Caribbean Carvery at The Royal Oak – BromsgroveRecently visited the restaurant with my family for Sunday lunch. Booking a table online was easy ! I couldn’t believe r the restaurant has only been open for 3 weeks! The atmosphere was relaxed and lovely with a steady stream of families and couples coming in to eat. Whilst it is advertised as a carvery it was more like a buffet style service where you pay at the bar and then wait to be called to the the food. We arrived just as some of the food was being topped up as it is all cooked fresh so there was a bit of a wait but we didn’t mind as the music was great ! The food was superb meat all tender and well seasoned- lamb, curry goat, chicken and you can have all 3(there is also a fish option), plus veggies and rice &peas Staff were lovely and apologised for our wait, I will definitely be back ! Thank you
Christopher’s Caribbean Carvery at The Royal Oak – BromsgroveMy partner and I came on a Sunday for the carribean carvery. On arrival we did wait at the bar for over 15mins to get served but we were greeted by Selina who was lovely and professional. We were then seated and told we would be called to go up for our dinner. That was roughly a 30 min wait so not ideal but we were okay as we had our beers. The food was very tasty and good portions but we did pay for the large so i expect that but my biggest gripe was the servers of the food. They gave no customer service at all. They barely spoke to you and gave no explanation how things worked so felt a bit awkward. As I have worked in Hospitality for many years myself, I do get being new, there will be teething issues (like no roast potatoes) but customer service goes a long way. I will definitely return for another visit.
Christopher’s Caribbean Carvery at The Royal Oak – Bromsgrove5 star
Christopher’s Caribbean Carvery at The Royal Oak – BromsgroveI booked a table for 6 people for 7pm. We arrived early at 6.30. I asked if we could add 1 adult and 2 children to the booking. The staff seemed to really struggle with this request. We finally got seated an 1hr.15 minutes later. We were then told the majority of the items on the menu was not available. We were also not aware that the buffet is only on the wkends and not during the week. We left there and went to another restaurant that were able to accommodate our size group swiftly and had a plentiful supply of food too chose from.

Christopher’s Caribbean Carvery at The Royal Oak – BromsgroveJust got back from Christopher’s and I can safely say it was all we wanted it to be and more. Every member of staff from the bar to the service were smiling, welcoming and attentive. THE FOOD… just insane. The 4 of us were blown away with the quality of everything on offer. The meat was so tender, the mac cheese was to die for and the mash… wow. We’re glad we made the journey down the M5 - we’ll be back.
Christopher’s Caribbean Carvery at The Royal Oak – BromsgroveLovely food, all perfectly cooked, great value for money, wonderful, welcoming staff. Did find the mix of food cultures a bit strange ie mutton curry with roast lamb and mash, etc, but each to their own and you can choose exactly what you want or don't want. The mutton curry was simply superb! Will definitely be back mid week to try some of the Caribbean dishes on their own.
Christopher’s Caribbean Carvery at The Royal Oak – BromsgroveMyself and my husband went here for Sunday lunch. We were greeted by a lovely lady Selina. The Sunday Carvery was lovely, with a good choice of meats, rice and peas, roasties, plantin and steamed veg with Yorkshire puddings too.For dessert we had apple crumble with custard, this was the best crumble I’d ever had.Lovely relaxed atmosphere. We will definitely be returning.
Christopher’s Caribbean Carvery at The Royal Oak – BromsgroveGreat food and atmosphere. 100% worth the travel and value for money
Christopher’s Caribbean Carvery at The Royal Oak – BromsgroveFirst time coming and wont be the last. We had the curry mutton and the jerk chicken. Was beautitful and full of flavour. A decent price and accorsing to the other half the best guiness around. Only fault would be the lad serving the food needs to be trained on how to deliver food professionally but that is a minor. Will be back again!
