We arrived for the 7pm sitting and it took at least over 20 minutes to take our money before we could be seated at a table we got fed up so went to get drinks from another bar while my sister paid for food and just found our own table! Very friendly lad taking money and girl serving drinks they did explain they were short on staff! Then they explained how we would be called up to get our food table at a time! To then have someone come over to tell people who passed after us to go to get their food we wasn’t happy as now we had been in the pub well over 45 minutes. Don’t think you get a very wide choice of Caribbean food but have to say what we had was very nice and cooked well could be abit spicer. I think you should definitely get seated then have waiting staff to take money save standing being bashed by people coming in the door while waiting to pay. And the food staff looked so fed up that we felt sorry for them. All in all would love to say we would go again but we was all very disappointed and my sister came from Devon to try you as she had seen it all over tick-tock. From other reviews surely you can see some changed would be good. Ps mash was amazing.

We were so looking forward to going to Christopher's, however unfortunately it was a disappointment, the restaurant wasn't busy and it was a Friday afternoon - we received a nice greeting and the lady explained how it works and told us that quite a few of the items on the menu were not available, I ordered the roast chicken dinner and my husband the hake, mine arrived first and we were shocked to see that there was a very small amount of chicken which was gristle but there was also mutton and lamb on the plate, not a chicken dinner but mixed meat which we did not ask for or want, there was hardly and vegetables or plantain and the roast potatoes tasted like they had been re-heated, the mashed potato was lovely but the rice dry. My husbands hake was very dry again just like it had be re-heated and rice dry also. The gravy which came with my meal was ok but both meals were only luke warm and tasteless. A BIG disappointment after travelling for 45 minutes to get there and the venue looks nothing like the pictures on the website, it was also cold in the restaurant. I did not finish my meal mainly because it wasn't a roast chicken dinner as it said on the menu it was a three meat dinner with little else (I don't eat red meat). We were planning on trying the weekend carvery -however now we have tried their food decided against this. Sorry Christopher's!

Seen this place advertised on FB,so I booked for my sons bday,Saturday evening ,wasn't very y busy ,staff friendly portion sizes were good ,but I didnt really see much Caribbean in the cooking ,only they had mutton and rice and peas ,and a bit of plantain ,ran out of mac and cheese ,the carvery is crammed into a small room ,food had no spice, not even peppers or onions ,the gravy was just normal gravy ,as I can cook this type of food myself I was very disappointed and left most of mine for 16.99 was very poor, when its named a Caribbean carvery ,u should get what your paying for and dont feel like its worth the money ,I had high expectations from the video on fbook but I think that was from when they were in Birmingham

We travelled an hour as we live in Derbyshire easy enough to get there I know the area well after having relatives living that way. First time staff were lovely chef was very friendly as were all the staff. The food was very nice very flavourful we had the carvery and a pudding ...well it was my birthday was a nice meal out. Would visit again for sure

Absolutely fantastic food , well worth a visit and lovely friendly staff.

It wasn’t very busy however the owner/ manager lady made a point to make us aware we only have 75 minutes from booking time and we were 10 mins late. There was only 2 other tables seated when we arrived and no queue but but we were not seated until we had paid and drinks given to us. Server at the till did not know what drinks they offered… no drinks menu either. They were ‘sold out’ of the xl carvery’s and it was only 15:15 on a Sunday I might add. I saw customers with cocktails so I was quite disappointed with my large coke £4 after I’d had seen them. It felt like a long wait between getting our drinks and being told we could go up for the carvery as we were conscious of the time after that initial warning. Food was not very hot and it had clearly been sat there for a while. Best part for me was the roast potatoes. The chicken however was very bland. The lady and gentlemen serving the food were very nice but other staff I encountered were not up to par. I urge others to read the reviews as I did not before coming. Were travelled for 40 minutes to get there so I do not think we’ll be returning.

Prompt service despite being busy - Friendly staff and food lovely and good price too

We travelled from Birmingham having read the reviews and we wasn’t disappointed. All staff were lovely very pleasant and welcoming. The food was lovely good portions aswell The lamb which is my favourite meat was very nice and all meat was well cooked as I like it. I have told all my family and friends who also love Caribbean food about this place.

We came here for the Sunday carvery. The food was delicious and very generous portion sizes. The staff are really friendly and welcoming especially Toni our server and Selina. Also the cocktails were really nice. Will definitely return.

We went for birthday meal, the food was really good, with large portions. The customer service could not be faulted from all the staff on the day. I would highly recommend paying a visit to any one wanting a nice meal out.

Family meal for 9. Food was tasty, great selection on the carvery. We had a choice of lamb chicken and mutton, you get plenty of food on the plate. Missed having dumplings or festival but the rest of the food made hp for it. The ambience was lovely and warm. Drinks were reasonable priced. Cocktails lovely. Staff really friendly. Plenty of parking.

I think it needed more choice , and could have been a little hotter. The mutton was nice , lamb was a little tough. But it was ok , good value for money in respect of other Caribbean food places And a little quicker with the process

Lovely staff greeted us on entre and served us drinks whist asking if this was our 1st visit. Music playing in back ground not too loud so people can chat. Cocktails were 2 for 1 and as In a rum lover tasted gr8. Asked to go choose food within half hour where you can fill up your plate to what ever you want. Very tasty and lot's of. Will defo book again. Will look out for events nights as I'm a big lover of reggae music. Congratulations on the restaurant.

Food was sooo good and great value for money. Chef was on point. The venue was absolutely freezing kept coat on the whole time heating wasn’t on. Considering it was Boxing Day only one member of staff on the pub bar and restaurant bar. Long wait.

Delicious food!

Food is lovely and I would highly recommend and the atmosphere is nice too will be returning for more :-)
