A lovely jaunt ‘up north’ on Sunday took us into Newport Pembs and the very cute Sailors Safety perched on a lovely warm spot just off Pwllgwaelod beach , We had a very nice welcome from a sunny waitress who looked after us well despite being super busy with many , many tourists on holiday , Our table inevitably was by the toilet because we had the dog with us I guess but it wasn’t too bad and we had a beautiful glass of vino as we awaited our food . My Mackrel was delicious if a little small in size for £ 10 but the flavors were fresh and pleasantly combined , the trout was heavenly , a real winner but the crab linguine apart from being a huge portion lacked flavor and was not at all inspiring which was such a shame as we had enjoyed everything else about the meal . I thought that a nice selection of homemade breads would be a great addition to these small plate dishes ( try a visit to the Inn at the sticks in Llanstephsn for some tips ) We would certainly return but perhaps not on a holiday Sunday .

The staff very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Great range of beers and cocktails. The food was beautifully presented and delicious, competitively priced . I would visit again based on this experience

Had an absolutely fantastic lunch. Whoever is in the kitchen knows how to put flavours together brilliantly to create really excellent food. Reasonably priced too for such fresh, interesting and delicious food. Real flair! Thank you. You have restored my faith that it is possible to find gems like this. Clearly everyone here cares, from the chef right through to all the serving and bar staff. Wonderful.

Excellent service the staff were friendly and helpful. We had afternoon tea, which was delicious and well presented. They catered well for a gluten-free diet. We would definitely go again.

We had high expectations for the sailors safety as we know llys meddyg quite well and also the old sailors that was. It was due a transformation and hoped it would be a gem. However we didn’t have a particularly warm welcome and were seated by the toilets as we had a dog. Never a good spot to sit and eat. The menu was ok for Mothering Sunday but considering the location and clientele simple sandwiches or ploughman’s as a choice would be great for the walkers. I had the fish soup which came with a tiny piece of bread which was lovely but needed more. The deserts were uninspired too large a portion of sticky toffee pudding with a tiny amount of ice cream. Disappointing. Don’t make it a pretentious gastropub but serve good home made simple food well. Please.

Excellent venue friendly staff food excellent

First meal I had here was the fish pie. Stunningly interesting flavours, tarragon, mint and other things I've forgotten. Yesterday's crab linguine was pleasant but somehow not as exciting as expected. Under salted and needing a bit of oomph. Sunday lunches reliably good . Yorkshire pudding with every roast a nice touch. You'll be overwhelmed this summer. Need extra parking!

Delicious food last night, we ate everything which was put in front of us with some relish! Cosy in front of the fire too.
