Four old friends meeting for lunch at this lovely country pub. Food was excellent , and very good value, service was commendable. We sat and chatted for several hours. We haven’t been to the White Lion for some years, always loved it and it’s even better now. We will be back soon!

I booked for our walking group (12 people). It was a very positive experience, the staff were helpful and welcoming and the service excellent and the food was good.

Went on a Monday lunchtime and booked in advance as we expected it to be busy. However, we were practically the only one's in there which surprised us. However, this shouldn't be taken as a reflection on the quality of our visit. The menu was large and our food was delicious. Excellent service

Food was okay but nothing special and definitely not good value for money. I expected higher quality for the price. Not many veggie options. Staff were friendly but I don't feel like what we spent reflected the experience.

All the menus were not offered had to ask for lighter meals, service for drinks very slow, although staff were lovely and polite definitely could do with another pair of hands and more training

Went back Sunday 23rd August this year, 1st time in a while, and went back because they had Carling back on draught. We both had the Sunday Roast and it was absolutely delicious, good size portions and the service was excellent. Definitely worth the trip back, and will be back.

Nice food and pleasant staff

We visited here as we were staying close by. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The pub was quite quiet , however it still had a nice atmosphere. There was a great selection on the menu and the food was delicious. Good variety of drinks and all at great prices. Would definitely recommend and would definitely visit again if in the area.

Party of four for Sunday lunch. Amazing food and great service. Staff are very friendly and efficient. Would definitely recommend. We will return I’m sure.

4 of us went for a birthday meal, 3 of the meals we asked for weren't available. I opted for a burger, and wish I had read the reviews on here beforehand. Over cooked and un was rock hard. Food took over an hour to come, and not that busy. Shame that the food lets this place down as the staff are friendly and the location is great.

Service was poor despite it being quiet. Took our drinks order, yet only two out of the three drinks arrived. Food order was taken and 20minutes later someone asked if they had taken our order. Agree with a review below, burger was absolutely burnt and very small. One of the worst I have had. Shame.

Excellent roast beef

Service was slow, the pub was quiet and food took an hour to arrive. Burgers was over cooked and buns were rock hard and inedible. No ice for drinks which when a pint of coke was £5 that isn’t acceptable. And when it’s 30 degs outside your drinks went warm. Won’t be back for food - disappointing.

On our third visit to The White Lion, we enjoyed a family lunch - excellent service from friendly and polite staff, superbly cooked and presented range of meals at very competitive prices and all in a very pleasant atmosphere. We would recommend The White Lion unreservedly.

The White Lion in Alvanley is a lovely well cared for country pub who do a fabulous Sunday lunch...we had trio of meats....delicious!! Plenty of parking.The staff are welcoming and friendly.I was too full for a pudding. Afterwards sat outside with a drink with lovely views.
