Lovely food and very friendly staff

It was my wife’s birthday and what better place to have a celebration meal. the food was excellent would recommend the seafood , monkfish prawn in a rich sauce . The staff were excellent and really helpful . Obviously the beer was spot on , it’s the Helter of course. A top night out many thanks

Have eaten here many times, as always food was excellent and the staff very pleasant. Our go too place for any celebration or a meal out.

Very enjoyable meal Good food and atmosphere

4 of us enjoyed a lovely meal yesterday, 3 of us had the small haddock and chips and 1 had the homemade cheese and potato pie. Everything was really tasty, although we would have preferred less chunky chips. Other meals brought out for other customers looked very good too ... the club sanwich looked amazing and could have been shared between 2 of us! (We don't eat as much as we used to!) We thought the food was excellent value for money, but the drinks were rather expensive.

We had the best time here yesterday, the food was amazing (as per) really nice atmosphere and the owner is lovely. Really fast service too. Highly recommend

A very nice Afternoon Tea with a pleasing selection of finger sandwiches & cakes with scones & delicious whipped clotted cream to make it special . Service was super & pleasantly attentive without being overbearing . We ordered an extra teapot of a different tea which was no problem & no extra charge . Something to commend & be praised for . My friend from the Netherlands was delighted with the treat so Thankyou .

Always very good with exceptional service. Need more options on the menu. Specialty menu could be the best option.

Great customer service and fabulous food

We went to celebrate a family birthday with 3 generations The food was excellent especially the wonderful steaks I was particularly impressed with howflexible the staff were to meet the childrens needs.

An absolutely perfect afternoon tea. The service and food were excellent and we sat by the open patio doors looking out in to the beautiful gardens. Will definitely be booking to go again.

Came to Mere court for Afternoon tea. Greeted by the pleasant lady on reception. Taken to our table by a lovely server. Given a choice of sandwiches. Setting was beautiful. When the cake stand came it was laden with sandwiches, scones, tarts and cakes. Given a choice of tea or coffee and a glass of prosecco. Food was delicious, would certainly return and would highly recommend. All staff were fantastic.

Easily the best pub food in Congleton. Great atmosphere and exceptional service

We visited on Sunday and found the staff to be friendly and helpful .We chose to have the Sunday Lunch There was plenty of meat and a nice choice of vegetables .my only criticism is that is was served luke warm apart from the roast potatoes which were hot .
