Amazing from start to finish, can't fault in any way at all. Perfect every time we visit

Came here on a Saturday, atmosphere is very authentic and enjoyable. Food was absolutely incredible, literally couldn’t fault it and I cannot wait to return. Great value for money, delicious food. 10/10 ⭐️

Booked a celebration meal for the whole family, 17 in total. The service was excellent, nothing was too much trouble. The good was very much enjoyed by everyone and everyone was able to eat together as all the meals were all served pretty much at the same time. They did a fantastic job looking after us. We had a great time thanks to all the staff. Would definitely recommend.

Wanted to go for over 20 years but lived to far away atvthe time ... recently drove past as now in the area and thought to myself really need to go ! ... It was the wedding anniversary this week so me and the wife had a fantastic meal and drinks .. Great Value.. so much so we went back 2 days later with the family.

5 stars all round! The service was perfect, the food was beautiful even adapting the menu for a vegan in our party. Lots of veggie and vegan choices too. Reasonably priced. Great size portions. Tasty food. Lovely atmosphere. Clean. Perfect room temperature. Smiley staff. Beautiful renovation of the building. Fantastic.... Thank you so much The Royal Oak. Lovely pub with great beers and food.

We went here for the first time and was very impressed. The food was amazing, the service was excellent and found it very comfortable. It was not expensive very value for money and will definitely be going again.

Went for the 2 course lunch with my sister for a girlie catch up. What a lovely place, the food was wonderful, the portions were generous and there was a great choice on the menu and excellent value for the two courses. The staff were so welcoming, attentive and very personable, we will definitely be revisiting. Highly recommend.

As always, superb food and service. This restaurant is our favourite place to relax and unwind as a couple!

one of the best Italian meal I have had anywhere

We had friends up from London last weekend and brought them to Lilac Cottage, having raved about it. Unfortunately we were disappointed. It was obvious that Felipe and Haseena weren’t there. Food and service just weren’t up to their normal excellent standard. No lamb chops, which are our favourites and are normally superb and no Padrón peppers, which our guests particularly fancied. Not put us off though, we are going back tomorrow!!

Sea bass with pak choi and crushed new potatoes and Tenderloin of pork with carrots, beans and roast new potatoes were both excellent.

Exceptional, from the minute that we cross the door, to the minute that we left it.
