Veggie

I visited the Manor for the first time on sunday, being a veggie there was very limited choice, after deciding on something that was a total clash of flavours,a pepper pastry puff, but the best thing the seemed to have going, i was sat around for approximately 10 minutes while my company were served their food, when my choice finally came it was cold and served with a gravy that smelt like dog food, not recommended

I would love to recommend the Yellow Broom. I was looking forward to enjoying their culinary delights. Having booked in advance for a special birthday dinner imagine my suprise to find the restaurant closed. What a pity that even though they requested our phone number they did not have the courtesy to advise us. Obviously they don't bother opening their restaurant if there aren't sufficient bookings to make it profitable. So be warned

Went to the Romper in Marple, food (and wine) was absolutely first class and reasonably priced, really good choice. The service was also excellent. The refurbishment was stunning although I must admit it was very disappointing to find the toilets hadn't been included in the refurbishment programme and these left a lot to be desired.

Having visited "The Davenport Arms' last Monday (5th May 2008) we can only say that from the minute we entered their doors we were impressed by the friendliness and willingness of all staff. Furthermore, it did not stop there.... the quality of food and quantity served (and at favourable prices) in the restaurant was exceptional... with staff checking as to our satisfaction and further requirements as necessary. A very memorable occasion. Thank you to all staff. Mr & Mrs Field

Went to the Tavern on 05-05-08. As the prices were very high, I only had a pot of tea; too much water on one tea bag left me with unpalatable, weak tea. My companion had a tuna toast which was cold. Customers at the table next to us were complaining about the prices amongst themselves and one lady decided to order nothing at all !! I certainly will never call there again.

We held our wedding here in June 2007. What a fantastic place and the perfect choice. We knew the food was great but the whole package was brilliant - the surroundings, the food, the wine, the service - all amazing. We still get people commenting that its the best wedding they've ever been to. People just raved about the menu we chose and the quality of the food. We were also made to feel that ours was the first and most important wedding ever held there. For a wedding venue that's a real accomplishment. The beauty of the Belle though is whether its a wedding or a meal for 2, you won't be disappointed.

Excellent restaurant with good atmosphere, have dined in many Zizzis restaurants especially in London, food is always very good and staff polite at all times, you will not be disappointed.

Superb meal at the Yellow Broom on Saturday night. The steak (and my partners lamb) was cooked to perfection! Staff were very attentive, extremely polite and professional. Have never had a bad meal here. It will always be my favourite. Would recommend it to anyone.

three times I have visited this pizza hut and three times the service has been awful, very slow and when the food arrived it was not even hot, in fact the last time myself and my husband visited we were seated and left for 15 minutes before being seen to and at this point we left because we knew we were in for another long wait and awful food, I would definitely not recommend!!

Went in Feb 2008. Lovely meal, the best Chinese I have had for a while! Excellent service, very friendly. The tea time special, great value. Could not fault anything. highly recommend!

Friendly staff, above average service and good food is what we found. Dishes were just as they were described and very enjoyable, although our steaks were on the rare side of how we ordered them. It wasn't even too loud at the height of the evening, and this on a Saturday night.

So you're driving through the real ale wilderness in South Cheshire. Past plastic themed eateries with the same menus anywhere in the country. Worse still you drive past abandoned boarded up country pubs ripe for redevelopment,it says on the for sale board, demolition, new homes, anything but a pub. You drive into a little village just off the A41, what do you see, yep another boarded up pub, but wait look to your right, no it's not a mirage, it's The Carden Arms in Tilston, sitting there defiant, real ales, good food, friendly service, decent beer, that's right everything we hold dear to. No ostentatious fancy new bar stools or overpriced fare, just a good old fashioned warm welcome, varied menus, great value mid-week specials, fishy Fridays, steak Sunday evenings, you name it, all great value for money and good to eat, I know sampled more than a few. Get yourself along there and enjoy a "proper" country pub with something for everyone. The Carden Arms, a beacon of light shining through the corporate dross. Don't miss it.

Firstly, we had to beg for service even drinks. We waited for well over half an hour before anyone came to take our order for food or drinks, we then waited a further 45 mins for our starter. I had the oxtail which was completely tasteless. The fish cakes were nearly cold -just about passable. Two of our party had the halibut which was overcooked tasteless and lukewarm, and the duck wasn’t much better. I had the lobster which was just okay. When we finished each course, we sat for at least 45 mins before anyone came to clear the plates we literally had to keep flagging someone down each time to clear the table and if we wanted a drink because no one came to the table to ask us if we wanted anything. One of our party had the apple pie which was micro waved soggy and looked like it had come out of a Mr. Kipling's pack. I asked for blackcurrant and lemon sorbet and got ginger and mango When I flagged this up to the waitress she lost her temper and told me this was what I had ordered when it clearly wasn’t and she was fed up and going to get the manager. When someone finally came I said forget it because I just couldn’t be bothered anymore all we wanted to pay the bill and go home (and it was after 11pm by this time). We also had coffee which again was lukewarm We were polite at all times so couldn’t understand why the waitress was so aggressive towards us. So all in all this was one of the worst meals we have ever had.
