Randal

This unpretentious restaurant served generous portions of excellent food at normal prices for the area. The staff were friendly and efficient without being over-attentive. The toilets were clean and well-kept. Highly recommended!

The food is very good, however the lack of attention by staff was disappointing. The price is very expensive which spoiled a very nice evening. Over £90 per couple for small portions. wine and water particularly expensive and any vegetables were a pricey extra.

Pesto at Cabbage Hall – Tarporley

This is definitely our new place to dine! What can i say I've actually found a curry house where the lamb doesn't feel like its been cooked for days. It is actually the opposite. It is so tender and so soft it just breaks apart with the slightest touch. Chicken Tikka, Chops, Nann Breads etc all to a superb standard. Not only is the food beautiful but the decor is modern and clean too in a lively location. I would highly recommend this for one to try in the near future.

Mughli Restaurant – Knutsford
Ditch Crawler

Am I the exception? We did not get to finish our meal as after waiting an hour after finishing the starter with no main course we walked out. The manager could only apologise but she did not know why it had happened. I choose poor for service actually it was worse than poor.

Chopstix – Nantwich
The Davenport Arms

We regularly eat here and regard it as the standard against which we judge other pub restaurants, and it is unusual to find any to equal it.We are lucky in having it as our 'local'. A&BK

me and my family go to the Cheshire cheese on a regular basis, the food is great value at 2 for £10 with fresh home made chips and homemade pies and curries etc. The restaurant is clean and tidy with a modern feel and the service is good with nice pleasant staff. The kids go out and play in the big outdoor play area whilst we relax in the bar. I would recommend the place to anyone old and new. I give it 8 out of 10 overall dave and jemma

I took my fiance Mark Winterburn here for a quiet romantic evening, and that's exactly what I got. Quality service and food in a superb setting. Highly recommended - probably the best eatery in Culcheth.

Duckegg Bluu – Warrington

This place is so good I just had to leave a second review! I went last night with my partner and our two grandchildren and the staff were positively superb! My youngest grandson, Graham, is only 8 and has an uncanny nack of knocking things over.. He knocked his drink over a total of three times and I was so embarrassed but the waiters dealt with the problem in a manner the Queen's butler would be proud of! Food again was tantalisingly good, as was the service of Alistair Douglas the young gentleman who cleaned up the spillage! I recommend everyone to go!

We went to The Romper off the back of another recent review following the refurbishment (not quite finished - toilets are the last to be done but won't take long apparently!). We had 3 main courses, one dessert (only one of us still had room after the large main courses) and one bottle of very nice wine and the cost was just over £45. We were served promptly and the food was perfectly cooked, well presented and very hot! The staff were very attentive without being intrusive. The surroundings are now subtly modern, but complementary of the old building. They are serving a Mediterranean menu so there is plenty of choice. We will definitely be going back!

For a special evening out we always choose Pecks. All my guests have been impressed every time I have been. Want to impress a visitor or client this is the place.

The staff were friendly and helpful however they were let down by the appalling food that came out of the kitchen. The waitress looked embarrassed to be serving such rubbish. We waited almost an hour for a table and then about 40 minutes for food so you can imagine we were quite hungry by then. White wine was served warm, then when we asked if we could have some cold white wine they brought it with ice in! Calamari in doughnut batter ugh!! Fajitas - a warm sizzle plate covered with fried onions and red peppers topped with slices of cold roast chicken - not a hint of spice anywhere. Cajun chicken - a huge plate of green salad with a few small shreds of the same cold roast chicken thrown in. Unbelievable and what courage the chef must have had to send out those dishes from the kitchen - or maybe they just don't give a damn considering that the place gets really full once the disco starts. Surely not the place if you like good food.

Fiesta Havana – Chester

I was really disappointed with what I thought would be 'authentic' italian food. Starters - mussels, some closed and very small.. caesar salad made with cheap mayonnaise... carpaccio served with the mayonnaise??? no olive oil. Main meal - pizza was made with pre made base and was soggy and way too thick.. Lasagne was good. Pizza was the biggest disappointment - no need to have pre made bases and to have these in an 'authentic' italian restaurant is unbelievable to me. The decor was good and staff were friendly.

Casa Brasserie at The Crown Hotel – Nantwich

great food, great service, great pub. I live in the town and all i can say is well done to adam the manager

This is a unique experience. Food is made on the premises and caters for diets - compares very well with National Trust standard. You eat in a magnificent 'chapel' with stained glass windows and vaulted ceiling. A must for tourists. A minor carp is that whilst being served at the buffet and then paying - the food cools. At busy times make sure that you find your table before you buy your meal.

Chester Cathedral Refectory Restaurant – Chester

This restaurant specialises in the finest Chinese cuisine. The decor is somewhat unoriginal but tasteful, with subtle lighting and immaculately laid place settings. The food is delicious, especially the mouth-watering Spare Ribs and crispy Duck. A relaxing atmosphere and delicious food combine to create an outstanding dining experience.

Chopstix – Nantwich

Chopstix is a great local Chinese restaurant that offers well-prepared Chinese dishes with perhaps a slight Vietnamese twist. Food is as good and authentic as one might find in Chinatown, This has to be one of Cheshires best restaurants the staff are very welcoming and the food is outstanding this is what eating out is all about. A must to try.

After the recent refurbishment, this pub has been transformed into a truly beautiful restaurant. I believe this to be the nicest food I have tasted in Cheshire and South Manchester for years! We have been twice this week and will surely be going again

The Romper – Marple

What can I say. Food and service very high standard however the restaurant eating area is cramp and without ambience and the lighting is too dim. So if it's good food you're after food go there. But if you want to entertain a date..... A starter for 2 with 2 main meals a rice and 1 side order washed down with 4 beers was £48
