Probably the best authentic Italian restaurant in Chester. The owner is always very warm and welcoming and the food never fails to impress. Overall a great place for any sort of occasion, especially if you are looking for some great Italian cuisine.

Delicious food, excellent service, lovely atmosphere, perfect! We did linger a little and were last out, but never felt pressured to move on. Will definitely return when next in Chester for an evening. thanks to all concerned.

Have you ever wanted to go to an Italian restaurant and have a real carbonara? And I'm not talking about cream and undercooked bacon. This restaurant takes pride in its classic and authentic Italian cuisine and deliver without fault. The service is perfect, staff are friendly and inviting. I highly recommend this restaurant.

My daughter and I had a meal at Carbonara on 8th December. We had such a wonderful evening, the staff were welcoming and details were given about the items on the menu. The food was delicious, beautifully cooked and tasty. Thank you

This was our second time at Carbonara, it was as wonderful as the first time, fantastic service, great wine recommendation, very simple menu but executed to perfection. We also had the Torta Nonna and it was absolutely amazing.

The best Italian meal I have had outside of Italy. Service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Everything was explained and the wine recommendation was spot on. Coming from Italian heritage I can be quite critical, but it was an absolute pleasure to eat at this totally authentic restaurant. Can not recommend Carbonara @ 49 highly enough. Will definitely be back.

One of our favourite places in Chester! A must if you’re looking for a lovely date night spot

We booked for Easter Sunday lunch with my elderly parents and couldn’t have wished for better. The hosts discreetly accommodated my request for a quieter table at the side of the room to make things easier for us and the welcome, food and service we received was brilliant. We had a really lovely family time together and will definitely book again!

We ate at Carbonara early April. One of us had two starters, the other starter and main. 2 glasses wine no dessert. Bill over £100 a very pricey meal which we enjoyed but shocked by bill.

Nuno and Jess provided a very welcoming atmosphere. We had a delicious Sunday roast. The beef was amazing, as were the roasties and Yorkshire puddings and the vegetables were perfectly cooked. Desserts were delicious too. We’ll definitely be back.

Our new favourite place to eat in Chester. Beautiful, fresh, properly authentic Italian food, served by the friendliest staff we’ve ever had the good fortune to meet. Tremendous value for money. Sam and his team entertained us on New Years Eve, and we felt among friends and family as soon as we arrived. The wine list was irresistible. It took us several days to recover….
