This was our second time at Carbonara, it was as wonderful as the first time, fantastic service, great wine recommendation, very simple menu but executed to perfection. We also had the Torta Nonna and it was absolutely amazing.

Everything was explained and the wine recommendation was spot on. Coming from Italian heritage I can be quite critical, but it was an absolute pleasure to eat at this totally authentic restaurant. Can not recommend Carbonara @ 49 highly enough. Will definitely be back.

Carbonara at No 49 – ChesterWe booked for Easter Sunday lunch with my elderly parents and couldn’t have wished for better. The hosts discreetly accommodated my request for a quieter table at the side of the room to make things easier for us and the welcome, food and service we received was brilliant. We had a really lovely family time together and will definitely book again!

Carbonara at No 49 – ChesterNuno and Jess provided a very welcoming atmosphere. We had a delicious Sunday roast. The beef was amazing, as were the roasties and Yorkshire puddings and the vegetables were perfectly cooked. Desserts were delicious too. We’ll definitely be back.

Tremendous value for money. Sam and his team entertained us on New Years Eve, and we felt among friends and family as soon as we arrived. The wine list was irresistible. Carbonara at No 49 – ChesterI dined at Carbonara last night with three friends and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The ambience was relaxed but with attentive staff and the chairs were extremely comfortable which encouraged you to stay longer and enjoy the evening. Quite a small menu which always tells me that everything is cooked fresh to order. We shared a tagliere misto with some bruschetta to start followed by their signature carbonara for three of us and one tagliata as secondi followed by tiramisù and gelato to finish. Everything was cooked to perfection and having lived in Italy for many years myself I know and appreciate good Italian food. I wish them every success and we will be going to try their 3 course lunch as soon as we can.
Carbonara at No 49 – ChesterExcellent lunch! As you’d expect the Carbonara was first class. Perfect pasta , rich sauce and crispy meat. Dessert was a marinated strawberry dish with cream, perfect to follow the main. Highly recommended.

The Townhouse & Secret Garden – ChesterMyself and My partner have just spent the most amazing couple of days at the townhouse Chester .From start to Finnish we were made welcome in the warm and friendly atmosphere by all the staff , especially a young lady called jassenta who showed outstanding attention to detail , nothing was to much trouble and her lovely happy nature brought a bit of normality back to life . The food , especially the breakfast is truly scrumptious ! Thank you for everything you are all doing in these difficult times , keeping us safe and happy during our stay . Gail and Mark.
