Thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tea with prosecco. Staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The afternoon tea itself was excellent, well prepared and presented beautifully. A particular mention for Nuno who served us with care and friendliness. Overall a really good experience.

Enjoyed a relaxing prosecco afternoon tea on Saturday as part of a weekend away for our wedding anniversary. Everything was fantastic and the staff were very attentive so many thanks Craig and Nuno. Will definitely visit again and cannot recommend the hotel enough

Made to feel most welcome for our afternoon tea. A lovely atmosphere with plenty of space. Really enjoyed the food and we will be back for more.

Waitress & service good Afternoon tea , sandwiches were dry, small cakes were delicious but the scone was more like a rock cake , very hard !

Arrived from a deluge of rain into this wonderful hotel which was warm, lovely decor and great reception. Then taken through to the lovely dining room and served a gorgeous afternoon tea. The food is great and so also is the service - the staff are friendly, attentive and very professional. We loved the whole afternoon and highly recommend you try the same!

Nice and friendly and the waitress was very attentive we both enjoyed the afternoon tea especially the gin and tonic tea

What a great venue! We came for a quick drink and bite to eat and stayed the afternoon in the secret garden. Great food, drink selections and service we loved it and will definitely be returning. Thanks for a great Sunday experience

Awful service. Only went for cocktails and they took 30 minutes for the first few and some members of the party were waiting over an hour for their drinks, got a refund and left in the end. Kept blaming the app yet when a member of staff went and ordered them again they still didn't arrive. Cocktails weren't nice enough to justify their price.

I took my Mum for a sparkling afternoon tea for her birthday and we loved it! A lovely selection of sandwiches and cakes and tea with tea leaves. The service was fantastic, the staff were friendly and accommodating. The setting was gorgeous, lovely decor and very welcoming. The only small negative would be the bread wasn't as fresh as it could be but otherwise we loved it.

Came for afternoon tea. Service, atmosphere, food, venue, secret garden were all amazing. That good I booked again to go a few days later!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Townhouse and couldn’t fault anything. The staff were all really good especially Mark the night porter who went out of his way to return an item that we had left at the Hotel. He really went above and beyond and we thank him for that.

Came for afternoon tea for my birthday. My friend has never had one before. The waitress couldn't do enough for us, she was a lovely.

The setting of the Town House was exceptional, from walking in the front door to our seating outside in the secret garden. We were made very welcome from the moment we entered and the staff were very pleasant. The afternoon tea we had was delightful with the seating outside in the sun adding to the experience. We will certainly be going back and definitely be recommending

Ordered drinks. Wrong drinks. Got changed. Still wrong drinks ! On menu said Peroni it was Heineken ! Wasn’t overly impressed sorry

We reserved a table in the Secret Garden area of the TownHouse and enjoyed the drinks we had there with our friends. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual with deck chairs and tables dotted around. There were however a few issues with our visit that we would like to point out. 1. Upon arriving (and prior on Instagram) we were informed by the staff and signs on the tables that we should use the app to order drinks. We were fine with this and on the app you can buy £10 credit with £5, so that was a bonus. However the app then didn’t allow us to order. We spoke to one of the waiting on staff, who then proceeded to tell us the app hadn’t been set up properly to allow ordering and payment through it. We were told we could use the credit we had purchased on the tab ordered at the table so we didn’t think this was a problem. However when we came to pay the bill, no one had authorisation to allow us to use the credit. So we all have credit on the app that we can’t use. It wouldn’t be a problem if we had taken it upon ourselves to use the app, but we were actually told by staff and signs on the table to use it and then told 5 minutes later that it wasn’t working. I think that’s at best is poor training and at worst is actively misleading or miss selling, telling customers to add credit, knowing they couldn’t use it at that visit. This then is forcing customers to return to use the credit. 2. The other issue we had was the lack of facilities to change a baby, I understand that bars are not really child friendly places but this is a restaurant and hotel that has been open for many years and to not even have a flip down bench in either the girls or men’s toilets is poor in today’s world. I had to change the baby in an office on a desk, which wasn’t ideal. Although there were a few teething issues with the app and the lack of changing facilities, the staff made us feel very welcome and were attentive and the service was efficient. Even if we didn’t have a credit left over on the app, we would still be returning.

We enjoyed afternoon tea in the secret garden which was lovely as the weather was so sunny. Food was lovely; afternoon tea included finger sandwiches, mini bagel and wrap with scones and cakes. Coffee was offered on frequent basis. Staff were really friendly and helpful. On the table there was a request for drinks to be ordered with a qr code; ive used others before but this was tiresome. Some of the staff said" don't bother and they took order" .

Booked for drinks only on Saturday afternoon and added 2 friends at the last minute! Drinks quite pricey and served in plastic from the bar in the garden. Blowing a gale so not the best experience! Having said all that, the staff were lovely. They added our friends without a problem and moved us to a more sheltered table after complaining about the wind! I would definitely go back - the weather spoilt it, but on a sunny day I can think of nowhere better to while away an afternoon!
