The Hinds Head is one of our favourite restaurants in the area and so when asked to arrange dinner for 15 of us attending a work seminar I had no hesitation in booking The Hinds Head. Considering the number of people being catered for everything came out of the kitchen hot and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it and there were certainly no complaints. The service was up to it's usual standard with the staff being attentive without being overbearing. Thanks.

This restaurant is one of our favourites, especially this time of year. It is cosy and welcoming and the food is always delicious.

Excellent night at the Hinds Head last night. The food was amazing as always and huge portions. Service was spot on. The atmosphere with the live music was great. We loved it. I’m so lucky to have this place on my doorstep.

27th November 2019. A group of my friends and I have been meeting at the Hinds Head for many months now on a regular basis. Unfortunately, this visit was not up to the usual standard. We were kept waiting a long while before anyone came to take our order. One of my friends ordered the braised beef with root vegetables, but there were no root vegetables. When she asked about this the waitress checked with the kitchen, and came and said that it was a mistake on the menu and it was not served with root vegetables!! I ordered Ribeye steak with a Diane sauce. The steak was not good and it was the most usual Diane sauce I have ever tasted. Not nice at all! Plus it did not come with home cooked chips, as I have had before, but skinny frozen fries - not nice at all. I think my friends and I will choose a difference venue next time we meet.

Our second visit after a friends birthday party. Service was efficient and food excellent. Staff not over attentive.

I have visited this restaurant a number of times, however this was my first visit this year and I noticed a number of differences from previously. Firstly the food was not as good as previously and the way it was presented was disappointing. The garlic mushrooms were not of the same quality as previously and the dish they were served in appeared as old and worn which I found unusual. The main course was satisfactory but the apple pie was extremely disappointing, where previously it has been a deep filled pie with plenty of apple this was flat with very little apple. Service was not up to expectations based on previous experience i.e. the head waiter (who used to be there) carried the ladies glass from the seating area to the table, this did not happen. When food was served it felt very rushed as though the food was almost thrown at us with the waiter rushing around despite the venue not being busy with customers. Some of the waiting on staff were pleasant and helpful but one in particular was not. After this experience ( which was a birthday celebration) I felt disinclined to visit again. So I am unlikely to return.

Family meal earlier this week for my daughters birthday. She loves Carbonara, and having been here a few times previous, this was her place to go. Not long after being seated in the quiet restaurant, we then had a very noisy group of adults sat behind us, we could barely hear our own conversation. I ordered a couple side dishes to come out with my main, yet they came out as starters. My daughters carbonara was bland and had a very greasy aftertaste. Not even a hint of garlic. My other daughter barely touched her pizza, plain cheese and tomato, saying it didn’t taste nice. My wife’s veg that accompanied her main looked boiled for far too long, with her roasties very hard, almost like they had been kept warm under heat lamps. My cannelloni was ok, but lacked seasoning. Massively disappointed by our meal, we opted not to stay for dessert. Traditional Italian this place is not. Unfortunately we will look to find a new go to restaurant.

We’ve been to the Hinds Head many times and have always had really good food and service, Saturday evening was no exception. A comment on the fillet steak from one of our party was that it was the best he'd had in a long time, I had the Spanisf style hake which was excellent too. Add to that very pleasant staff and a lively but not too loud atmosphere, a good time was had by all.

Went last night booked on line got there no record of booking this has happened twice now. Food was ok has been better, got 2 people’s dessert wrong took them 3 times to get it right and it was freezing.

We had the early bird menu, the food was great and great value for the price, would recommend papa luigis.

Great food and service , piping hot , tasty and served by helpful , friendly staff, also had a great cooked breakfast both mornings during our weekend stay which were also excellent !!! Just one comment it would be lovely if guests staying over in the accommodation could have access to a snug area to sit in after dinner , as seating by the bar area is very limited .

Went here for a sunday afternoon meal. This was about our 6th visit to the Hinds Head and as always were delighted with the food and the service . For starters my wife had King Prawns and she said that the sauce was delicious. I had the creamy garlic mushrooms which were fantastic. For mains we both had the pie of the day ( Steak ) - The steak just melted in our mouths and there was plenty of it. As always the staff were very attentive and very polite. Thank goodness that we have booked to go back again in about 3 weeks !!!

We booked a meal for 4 at 18:00, we hadn’t been before and wanted to try somewhere new. We weren’t disappointed, The service was great, portion sizes too, food was lovely and excellent value for money will definitely be back.

Very good food, good service, very friendly, nice atmosphere. Will definitely come again!
