Back in Port Isaac for the first time in a few years. Pre booked the Slipway as it was very good last time we visited. Not disappointed still a very nice place to eat and drink, staff were very professuional and friendly and the food was very tasty especially the chilli fries. Thoroughly recommended.
The Slipway – Port IsaacWe arrange for family reunions each year at Olive Tree Bude. They are always helpful by allocating us the quiet table we request. This year was excellent as usual. We all thoroughly enjoyed our drinks and lunches. An added bonus is that Olive Tree have kept to their policy of not allowing pet dogs inside, there is plenty of room outside on the terrace for them. Thank you so much for this.

The Slipway – Port IsaacI would highly recommend the Sunday roast at the White Hart Inn. We all had the super tender beef rump cooked to perfection and agreed it superseded even the best around. The pared down menu reflected quality. The new interior is welcoming, atmospheric and comfortable. On a chilly May Sunday it was wonderful to see the wood burners giving a nice flickering warm glow (but not too hot!) The place was full of life and well worth a visit.

The Black Swan – HelstonFabulous experience from the moment we walked in. The restaurant was lovely inside, had a really good vibe, pleasant welcome & attentive staff. Food was delicious, starters of mackerel pate & fish cake, mains of mussels & steak followed by dessert.. Would definitely recommend a visit & will be back.

The Mote – Port IsaacDisappointing. The lamb shank main course was about as minimalist as was possible. The lamb itself was just about OK, but as for the vegetables they barely existed. A tablespoon of potatoes, few shreds of cabbage, and what was more like a garnish of broccoli. No carrots!

Bellini’s – WadebridgeOverall we were happy with out visit. The pub has a lovely atmosphere. The lady who served us at our table was very friendly and efficient. We liked that the pub was dog friendly. There is some rom for improvement on the food though. My wife and I had fish and chips. The batter on the chips was soggy on both. And the food was served on cold plates which is absolute no-no and a very basic mistake for a chef. The gentleman near us also fish and chips and he had the same problem - the batter was too soggy. He sent his back. We were too polite! The rest of the meal was nice though: good fish, nice chunky chips and tasty mushy peas and tartare sauce.

I have a gluten intolerance and as the food was freshly made to order I was told the chef Olly could adapt anything for me, which was amazing! The service was super friendly. We’ll be there again soon for sure!
