Pheasant Inn – Keswick3 of us ate here on our last night away, friendly greeting at the bar and taken through to our table which was in a cosy back room. All 3 meals were excellent, scampi, sirloin steak and lamb Henry. Portions were large. Puddings also very nice. The staff were all really friendly and efficient. Our only regret was not coming here earlier in the week. We will be back I hope, thank you
Pheasant Inn – KeswickLovely food and well presented. A very nice menu and comfortable interior. Staff very friendly and dogs welcome. The honesty shop is a quirky interesting feature. A very nice country pub indeed. Would recommend. Only critique would be that the opening hours are limited.
Farmers Arms – UlverstonExcellent meal well worth the long taxi ride. Thank you so much. L
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe recently had a meal while on holiday. It was absolutely delicious, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Prices were very reasonable too. Definitely recommended.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeHad tried to book before but could only be actioned online! Managed to book for Thursday and we weren’t disappointed! Food was hot and tasty plus aplenty. Hubby loved the steak! Staff very welcoming and attentive. Lovely old building but foyer needs a paint as peeling badly.
Glen Rothay Hotel and Badger Bar – RydalDisappointing yesterday which is very surprising as not the norm. Waiter was rude and basic didn’t treat us politely and didn’t interact at all no one checked if the food was ok or if we needed anything else I had to pay at the counter as no one came to the table at all once food delivered. The food was tasteless too when the second time there this week and the first time it was amazing
La Mezzaluna – CarlisleWe booked for a Wednesday night recently as found the restaurant by looking for 'best restaurants in Penrith' while we were on holiday in the area. This is a small, boutique restaurant & has been very nicely decorated & set up. The staff are very friendly & attentive. The food we ordered was superb. We both had the king scallops to start which were perfectly cooked and tasted superb. For mains I had the trio of pork & my wife had the seabass with lobster & crab ravioli. Both dishes were excellent. The local cheese board we shared was also extremely good. We really enjoyed the meal & would not hesitate to recommend the restaurant.
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithLovely pizzas and burgers and great atmosphere and friendly staff . We had a fabulous meal on our last night of holiday - would love to return
Farmers Arms – UlverstonExcellent food and value for money. Nice quaint country pub, one of a dying breed. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. Also dog friendly. Sure we will return
Greyhound Inn Cotehill – CarlisleGreat bar with delicious food and plenty of great drink options. The pie of the day (steak and ale) was delicious and great price for the amount of food you get. The staff are so friendly and welcoming! Definitely best bar in the Lake District.
Glen Rothay Hotel and Badger Bar – RydalAs always a delightful evening in this beautiful old pub with a good atmosphere and of course great food. Delicious and not a bad choice for vegetarians.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWe had a lovely meal and would definitely recommend.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe enjoyed two evening meals while staying at the Glen Rothay; both were delicious. We had char-grilled salmon - which was so good my husband had it again the following night! - and belly pork, also very tasty. Well above what we’d reasonably expected and the atmosphere in the bar area and the dining room was cosy and relaxed. It was raining for pretty much our entire stay (that’s the Lakes for you!) but if you have to be holed up anywhere, the GR hotel and Badger Bar are definitely the place to be! All the staff were efficient and professional while also being very friendly. Highly recommended.
Glen Rothay Hotel and Badger Bar – RydalStaff warm and friendly food was excellent couldn't fault it at all 10/10 definitely come back again.
