Don't waste your money........... The worst fish and chips that I have ever tasted.
The Little Chippy – WindermereWent to this restaurant yesterday and it was not very family friendly. Staff were not very pleasant and food was frozen and overcooked. Place itself was nice enough but the staff and food let it down
Spinnery Restaurant – WindermereAbsolutely dreadful. Went in on a Sunday evening about ten past six. Menu for the evening. menu for the evening was served till six thirty. We you would have thought there was a war on they way we were looked at. We felt so uncomfortable. Staff were very rude. Polish waitress even ruder, saving grace was the young waiter who was polite but the remainder of the staff were very rude. I tool children in and all I could hear was the waitress and chef arguing about our order, he was complaining there was not enough food to do our order, f'ing and blinding from the kitchen in full view of the seats we were at. She then came out and no apologies just said there were no chicken nuggets and would sausage do. Absolutely no apologies, very rude. Everything seemed too much trouble. We asked for vinegar and she said "Well I will have to go upstairs for that" which begs the question why none downstairs and also why tell us. It should have been brought with the meal. I would rather go without than eat here again. Never again. Rude staff mediocre meal and grubby surroundings, we sat downstairs. Overall appalling.
Spinnery Restaurant – WindermereSadly, the Ship Inn is closed more often then its open as it is trying to become a restaurant and only seems to open for booked diners during the week. Lounge area is now dedicated to diners so drinkers have to make do with the refurbished bar area. Closed Sunday night at 9pm and all day Monday and Tuesday and usually Wednesday and Thursday as well. WARNING its not unusual for booked parties to turn up and find it closed.
Ship Inn – MilnthorpeAnyone who has had a meal at the Ship in Bardsea will return. Its well worth a visit for the food, and you also get a top class service! I would recommend it anytime.Bill Hobson.
The Ship Inn – UlverstonThe food is very nice and the building is beautiful. Unfortunately the staff and management let it down - they are rude and argumentative. Is such a pity as the food is very tasty - not the cheapest - but locally grown and reared.
Brown Horse Inn – WindermereThis is a fantastic restaurant and takeaway. The food is superb. A huge range of flavour. I would recommend it to people who don't like curry because they think that eating curry is like having a thermal nuclear bomb go off inside their head. No such thing with this. The flavours are subtle and numerous. I particularly like the seafood dishes, as they are extremely delicate. A good range of beautiful vegetarian dishes. I am pleased to see this restaurant has proved popular. Millom has been crying out for a curry house for years. This one is of extremely high quality and I urge everyone to try it. They won't be disappointed. Thanks to all Curry Spice staff for bringing this restaurant to Millom. The town is all the better for this business. Good luck and continuing success.
Curry Spice – MillomLovely friendly cafe, a bit unsure from the outside, but really surprised at the extensive menu. Our favourite cafe in Penrith and we've tried them all!!
Three Crowns Tea Shop – PenrithI think this has to be one of the nicest Italians I have ever been too.The food and service are fantastic. The bar at the side sphere is packed and has a very nice clientele definitely will return and tell my friends.
Paulo Giannis Ristorante Italiano – KendalThe food and service were great until 10.15pm. We tried to order a sweet and coffee. 'Sorry, the kitchen is closed, you can only have ice cream from freezer' and 'sorry, coffee machine has been cleaned, so you can't have a coffee'. The delivery of the message verged on rude, it was obvious they wanted to go home. The restaurant says open until 10pm - why no 30 minute warning? Anyway we obliged and went home without leaving a tip!
Star Of Siam – KeswickYou can't eat better than this for the price, excellent value.
Park Head Inn – EgremontProne to moments...........
Casa Romana – Whitehaven – WhitehavenI waited in a queue as chaos reigned and staff argued about who had been out for a 'fag break' for 15 minutes to be told very abruptly that no, I couldn't have a sandwich to take out as they were far too busy! I shan't be going back.
Miller Howe Cafe – Grasmeredon't go if your veggie ordered butternut squash rissotto, not on then requested veg lasagna not on then in desperation ordered baked potato and baked beans can you believe they had no beans really bad service treated like aliens not veggies we have stayed three times b4 there seems to be new owner who has a distinct dislike of veggies unlike the last three visits that were great
Gilpin Bridge Inn – Kendalwe use the ship on a regular basis !! you always know your going to have a good night whether its one of Pauls fresh fish dishes or Gwens famous steak and ale pie nothing ever disappoints there's always a friendly welcome from everyone there ! Don't miss the theme nights last times Mexican night was a riot !!!
The Ship Inn – Ulverstonbest steak and ale pie we have ever tasted (and we've tried quite a few!)
The Ship Inn – UlverstonBrilliant food, Breakfasts as you would cook them yourself !! no grease in sight. Delicious. !!! Lovely outside dining area. Fantastic !!
Bowness Kitchen – WindermereAbsolutely the best culinary experience during a week in the South Lakes. So much so that we returned again for Sunday Lunch. The Roast Dinner was definitely the best I have had in a very long time and would certainly recommend. Service very attentive and personal, including adjusting the spice levels in food to cater for taste. View from Conservatory made it a lovely setting.
