The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessBeen many times to The Bakehouse and the food has always been excellent. The newly refurbishment restaurant is outstanding the whole look is stylish but still keeps the country feel to it. Staff were all friendly and efficient as always and nothing was too much trouble. I need that there were no mirrors in the ladies toilets. Well done.
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessOn arrival the covid checking was good, and the waitresses were very good. The one thing was we waited for 40 minutes for our meals to arrive, and we'd already finished our drinks. This was for a lunchtime booking.
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessMy wife and I enjoyed the afternoon tea at Cedar Manor. The whole experience was brilliant! The setting was beautiful. The service from Jonathan was amazing - really nice guy, enjoyed chatting to him. The savoury starters were all extremely tasty. And then the tiered platter with the cakes and various patisseries was incredible. Gotta say, the stars of the show were the buttermilk scones. Probably the best scones I've ever had. They also offered a great range of teas and coffee, which complemented all the food wonderfully. Can't fault it! Will be returning as soon as we're back in the Lakes.
Cedar Manor – WindermereCouldn’t fault service, setting or food. Outstanding. Staff very friendly and hard working. Maybe helpful to have clearer signage re how to find parking in front of Bakehouse. It’s very tucked away especially in the dark. At first it feels like it’s all closed until you venture to the side.
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessThe place, atmosphere and food were great. However service has haphazard, we had to ask for everything more than once, there appeared to be a lot of floor staff just wondering, the cakes had no labels and the table wasn’t cleared until we asked. It took 2 hours for for 2 course. It wouldn’t stop us coming again but we would hope for better service.
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessMeals were really lovely really lovely and friendly staff .
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-Furness4 of us had breakfast at Charnleys Saturday 26/9. Food was lovely we had 3 breakfasts and one bacon toastie all lovely and hot and quality ingredients. Staff were all welcoming and efficient and made sure everyone was seated safely. Really easy to book a table on line all went smoothly. Would definitely recommend and return glad to see the Bakehouse back open the decor is really good too.
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessWhilst staying in Windermere we booked to have the afternoon tea. On arrival we were met by the charming owner Jonathan and given the opportunity to take tea outside on the patio. He then attended to our requirements for the whole of the experience. Delicious sandwiches and cakes with fresh cooked scones and homemade jam. Plentiful supply of tea of choice. Unhurried and very relaxed afternoon. Would highly recommend a visit. A perfect choice for afternoon tea.
Cedar Manor – WindermereWhat a fabulous afternoon tea! Cedar Manor go the extra mile to make their afternoon tea special. They started with a small soup topped with spiced oil and this was followed by a small prawn cocktail. Then we were served with fresh sandwiches- the smoked salmon and lemon butter was delicious. Then came the stand of freshly made cakes and scones. My favourite was the mini lemon meringue which was so light and tangy. Homemade jam was delightfully flavoursome. The service was exceptional and the quality of everything too class.
Cedar Manor – WindermereAbsolutely lovely
Cedar Manor – WindermereVery nice meal and the staff were very friendly and polite. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
Cibo – BarrowGreat that the pub has reopened with lovely welcoming staff and a good selection of beers and ciders. So far I have only had the pizza from the menu as it is just sooooo good, and really worthy of a good pizzeria rather than pub grub. Well done all!
The Tavern At Hale – MilnthorpeHad a wonderful stay at the hotel and was treated to a fabulous afternoon tea Great service and food at its very best Would definitely recommend and will be returning on our next trip to the Lakes.
Cedar Manor – WindermereThe staff were very attentive. The food was good but I would have liked a choice of potatoes with the chicken. Also the option of an extra veg would be good. Enjoyed the meal though in a lovely venue
Cibo – BarrowLovely food. We had the 2 courses for £15 - good choices on the menu and excellent value for money. Felt safe, happy with their virus precautions. Would definitely recommend. Would like to go back :) thank you.
Aikton Arms – WigtonAmazing experience... food top notch with attention to detail . The king prawn with chilli & lime was fantastic. Staff very welcoming and good service .
