My husband and I visited the Little Chef Penrith on 16 May 2015. On arrival staff polite and friendly, food excellent and property clean. Well done, would recommend.

Little Chef – PenrithI like the outside of Pedros and seeing the big hats. The staff look friendly and I fancy having a go at working there for a while.
Pedro’s Casa – KendalWe enjoyed a lovely lunch at Francine's on Friday. Two excellent soups and mains. Would return and recommend.
Francine’s Restaurant and Coffee House – WindermereThis is just the restaurant that Coniston has needed for a long time. The food here is of a really high standard. I took my wife and son here on Tuesday 28th April as a special treat. We had 2 Balti Chicken dishes and a Jalfreizi with Pillau rice with poppadoms. We all thought that this was one of the best Indian meals that we have ever had- it was so very tasty and delicious. The menu here is extensive and should suit most tastes. The staff are friendly and efficient and their chef is obviously very skilled at his work. We had soft drinks and a gorgeous meal for less than £16 a head. We cannot recommend Sara's Restaurant any more highly. It has only been open for some 3 weeks but we feel this restaurant has the makings of being a real winner in Coniston. Go on- go ahead and give them a try.
Sara’s Indian Restaurant – ConistonWe visited Sandford Arms for an evening meal whilst visiting Cumbria, the ambiance was relaxing and very friendly. I had the slow roast pork, delicious! and my partner had the fish course. Having enjoyed a perfect evening with attentive service we have nothing but praise and recommendation for the Sanddford Arms Appleby.
Sandford Arms – ApplebyVisited this pub and omg what a transformation. Must be the best revamp pub in Keswick. Absolutely beautiful decor and the food is faultless. We as a family completely enjoyed everything about this dog friendly pub. The staff were all very helpful. We will definitely be returning, we recommend this beautiful pub.
Lake Road Inn – KeswickWe had a meal last Saturday in your restaurant in Windermere the meal was delicious from beginning to end . For my main meal I had belly pork with black pudding but a cant remember the name of the meal I am now back home and would love to try this meal again could you please forward me the name of this very enjoyable meal.
Porto Restaurant – WindermereDougs Diner is the place you want to go for a fantastic cooked meal, whether it be your breakfast or evening meal. The food is piping hot and of great quality. It is not a place only for the lorry drivers, get yourself down there the food is excellent. Proper home cooking and cheaper than going to McDonalds lol.
Dougs Diner – PenrithI came a few years ago and must say its up there with the best. Food was delicious staff all friendly. I'm looking at coming to dine on Saturday if they have the availability. Would highly recommend!
Cantina – WindermereI have just attended a funeral wake and have left extremely embarrassed as myself and my husband were told to sit separately from each other even though there was a set table still available. I explained that i did not want to sit apart from my husband as we we did not know the people we were been asked to sit with. We have ended up just leaving instead and my husband could not pay his respects to his Aunt.
Greysteads Hotel – CarlisleI eat here on a regular basis, monthly or so and I have never been disappointed. The menu is versatile enough not to get bored. The food is delicious, the portions are over generous and the staff are friendly. The pub atmosphere is warm, clean and cosy.
Rose and Crown – UlverstonAs a regular visitor to Keswick I'm simply aghast at what they've done to the best and most atmospheric pub in Keswick. A new plastic fake imitation olde worlde pub has been achieved from what was a genuine magnificent traditional olde worlde pub. Well done Spirit that's some achievement.
Dog and Gun – KeswickThe soup and sandwich was excellent value and beautiful and tasty. Good selection of coffee too and they serve alcohol too.
Abbey Mill Coffee Shop & Cafe – Barrow-in-FurnessWe have just come back from a lovely weekend away. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. The room was small but clean and satisfactory. A great additional extra was the swimming pool, sauna and steam room with spa.The restaurant had a good menu and we could hear people really complimenting the food so were looking forward to our meal. I had the Sea bass and cheese cake which was really nice, unfortunately my Husband didn't have the same experience with his pheasant! The first one was dry and over cooked which he sent back and although asking for the next one pink it was raw! He didn't make a fuss as the staff were so pleasant about it so decided to have the sticky toffee pudding which we believe is the local dessert, it was hard and over cooked looked liked had been microwaved which was a such a shame as it put us off eating there the night after. I think it was just a one off as pheasant is hard to cook! On the up side breakfast was very nice and just what you needed before a busy day out.
Damson Dene Hotel – KendalAfter going up and down trying to find a tea shop the Pillar House attracted me from the outside. Beautifully decorated and very busy which is always a good sign. The food was very nice and all looked fresh and home made. The only down fall unfortunately was the either owner or Manager! He was very stressed which he took out on the staff and very short with the customers. Just because your business is doing well, it's the customers that make you money! Did put me off going back as the staff looked on edge and unhappy.
Pillar House – KeswickWe had an amazing 18 course menu with 11 matching wines. Unbelievable food, thought provoking. The wines were a perfect match. Thanks Sugarvine for recommending and booking L'Enclume.
L’Enclume – CartmelGreat food value for money and friendly atmosphere and staff. Well worth a visit.
The Sunny Hill – WhitehavenHad a meal for 2 there, we had their game pie with seasonal veg. I have to say it was delicious. The staff were also very good and the place seemed very popular.
