Had lunch at Bowness kitchen yesterday a combination of sandwiches, toasties and chips was all lovely and beautifully presented. so we called for breakfast this morning before home my other half had "The Bigger Grill (as they do) my Son had "Bacon and Eggs" which is served on hot toast and i had "The Posh One" smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on toasted ciabatta. again was all very nice and excellant value. Enjoy!!

My daughter and I visited your restaurant today, 14.6.2012. I ordered the beefburger, my daughter ordered the Feta cheese salad and garlic breads. My burger was overcooked with my first mouthful consisting of gristle, the bacon was tough and overall the meal was warm in temperature. My daughters salad had in it half a tomato and the garlic ciabatta had no garlic. Overall the meal was very disappointing.

what a delightful place to stay with our doggie (puppy Bella). We just loved the room, food, ale, staff. Everyone made our special stay in this hotel for our 25th Wedding Ann 23.5.12, big party held on 26.5.12 in Poole Dorset. I was able to climb Blea Tarn just stunning place to be!!! Thank you everyone xoox We will be back!!! Andy & Maggie, & Bella

19 May 2012 - Family birthday celebration at Oilys. The staff were very friendly and made my family and 2 young grandchldren very welcome. Service was excellent. As a trained chef I thought the food was well presented and cooked to a very high standard. The new menu was very tempting with a wide choice. I would certainly recommend the goats cheese and potato salad and the beef wellington. We all had 3 courses! Well done keep up the excellent food and atmosphere. We'll be back soon!!

Awful! Greasy starters, stodgy rice, sloppy noodles, frozen veg! Avoid at all cost. Never had such an awful thai meal! Staff were lovely though.

Monday 23rd April 2012 My husband and I went to Oily's for the first time in a while, but it certainly wont be the last. The staff are fantastic, warm and very friendly. there was a good choice with the vegetarian options; I had the brie and mushroom wellington with cranberry and red wine sauce...mmmmm...my mouth's watering writing this. The chef Jason Roper could not have been more helpful. What a great team. See you all soon, Susan & Andrew Hargreaves

Christine and I are always assured of a fine welcome. To be served in such a friendly way by Debbie and Dave makes it a real pleasure. An added bonus Christine likes to browse among the clothes and jewellery etc.. We will keep returning.

We visited this year April, 2012 came across it during our walk-about of Windermere....and recognised the shop because I had watched the lakes documentary and it's progress on TV. EXCELLENT food, and friendly service. Very relaxed atmosphere and it was full. We will be visiting again on our frequent trips to the lakes.!!

Brambles Coffee Bar – Windermere

Terrible experience and we only ordered a toaster and coffee. How hard could that be? It turned up at the table burned and greasy resembling fried bread. When we complained we were told that it wasn't burnt or greasy ( clearly must have been my eyes) and that this time they would take the money off but never again. The manager was rude although had the cheek to call me bad mannered! In fair was by the end I was probably not my politest but I think even a Sunday school teacher may have has her patience tested.Avoid

Not only was the food good, the service also, even to the extent of a taxi service to the station because my husband could not walk up the hill. - for which we were most grateful

Taste Of Eden – Appleby

Just had our first meal at Oily's Monday evening April 9th - fantastic! Food cooked to perfection, presentation excellent, and the service first class from the front of house team. All of this at a very reasonable price, we will definitely be returning, best quality and value in the area by a mile. Also worth a mention is the light coloured interior decor, furnishings and countryside surroundings all make for a very relaxing and pleasant experience; this makes a change to the usual dark depressing look of the local bars and pubs that we have attended so far. Excellent dining experience!

Booked Oily's for a small family group on Sunday 08/04/12 and we were very impressed with the service, the friendly staff ( nothing was any trouble ) the meal was excellent. We will definitely be back and would recommend Oily's to anyone seeking a good meal out. Well done to all the staff who make this venue special.
