A great party venue. We booked the whole hotel for a celebration. We had an amazing seafood buffet, with home made breads and a great choice of desserts.

Briery Wood Country House Hotel – WindermereIf you want to try out an excellent range of real ales this is the place to go, right in the middle of Broughton in Furness, if you love your real ales this is a place you will visit time and time again, also the prices are very reasonable.
Manor Arms Hotel – Broughton-in-FurnessWHAT AN ABSOUTELY HORRIBLE PLACE. DO NOT GO HERE.
Kings Head The – ApplebyGood honest well cooked food, very well priced, service was excellent. Highly recommended.
Brown Cow Inn – Broughton-in-FurnessWhat can I say, we go every week for steak night and the hog roast at the weekend, they have several other 'special' evenings which are excellent value for money, it must be good because that's where all the locals go to eat. Highly recommended. Make sure you book ahead or you might not get a table. By the way its not at Broughton in furness its at Silcroft near the train station.
Miners Arms – MillomVery good for lunch time meal, nice walks nearby to work of those extra calories. Also they do an excellent steak for that special evening meal, a bit far to travel but well worth it. Very nice real ales.
Newfield Inn – Broughton-in-FurnessI love this little restaurant. It is situated at the top of Main Road facing up Broad Street Windermere and it is a very cosy, homely and friendly restaurant. The meal was lovely and the service was prompt and friendly.
Renoirs Coffee Shop – WindermereThe Crown Hotel offers a relaxed atmosphere complemented with open fires and back ground music. The food and service is absolutely outstanding, I would not hesitate to go back again. Children are welcome and the staff are very accommodating nothing is too much trouble for them to deal with. Together with the prices charged this is a winning combination by anybodies standard.
The Crown at Walney – Barrow-in-FurnessI had to complain about the seafood as it smelled like effluent. I was told that seafood is supposed to smell like that! I eat seafood on a regular basis but I won't be going there again! I didn't eat the food and was offered no apology or reduction.
Lighthouse – Windermerewe had a table booked for 7.30 the meal came at 9.20 after we asked for it. it spoilt the evening.
The Fox Inn – PenrithWe were a party of eight and all choose widely from the menu. Our total bill came to £156 including drinks. The staff were absolutely marvelous and we had a super time - nothing was too much trouble.
Troutbeck Inn – PenrithI obviously went on the wrong night! I called in at 6.30pm and asked for a table for one. "No problem" was the reply. A menu appeared and I ordered a coke in the downstairs bar whilst I ordered.I'd been in with friends the week before and whilst the service was a bit iffy the chilli was excellent and so I'd called in again for more of the same. Imagine my surprise then, when I was told that the chilli had sold out. At 6.30pm??!! You know that feeling when you've been thinking of a particular meal all day and can't wait to get stuck in? Well that was me. The girl explained that they hadn't made any chilli the night before and therefore only had one portion left which had just been ordered. God knows when that batch had been made!I decided not to stay and asked for the bill for my coke. Oh, the coke, by the way, was in one of those tiny bottles that only half fills a glass. That came to £1.50 and I handed over a fiver, but, at 6.30pm, and not anticipating a rush of one customer, there were no large denomination coins in the till. So the girl gave me my change in pennies and 5p pieces. And so off I went, shuffling out into the early evening with an empty stomach and a pocket full of change. Somehow I can't see that happening in Tiujana..........One thing's for sure. I won't be going to Amigos in Ulverston anytime soon.
Amigos The Mexican – Ulverstongreat for familys
Heron The – KendalThe Brown Cow is a lovely Restaurant/Pub to visit. When the weather is good the beer garden is fab to sit in and chill with family or friends. The meals are very filling we always receive plenty. I would recommend this establishment to everyone.

Fig Tree Cafe – Barrow-in-FurnessOur food at the black swan was exceptional, the staff were very attentive and we were impressed with the selection of real ales on offer. Our accomodation was also to a very high standard, we would recommend anyone to go!
Black Swan Inn – PenrithRelaxed, charming and welcoming. We have been a few times now on separate occasions and the food was outstanding. The chef and waitress should be given a medal. The combination of fresh food using local produce is amazing and with superb service it works really well. I don't think it will be long before things really kick off for them. All the very best will be back again very soon.
