Kennedys – PenrithIf you visit Ambleside I 'd like you to join the great meals here because it's real and very tasty. The staffs are friendly. If I chance to come back I will visit again.
Doi Intanon Thai Restaurant – AmblesideI love the fact that unless you know its there you wouldn't find it! The walnut bread is always delicious, and they make the coffee to your requirements. Add to that all lovely children's things its fantastic

The Sun Inn – PenrithFantastic restaurant recommended by friends and the best place we have visited in carlisle for a long time!
Keez Bistro – CarlisleI cannot wait to go back to Amigo's again, I was with a party of four booked in on a busy Saturday night. Even though the staff were extremely busy they were efficient and remained helpful and friendly throughout. The restaurant has a real Mexican feel to it and yes I do know it is a Mexican restaurant but it pulls the look off in a casual yet authentic way. The menu incorporates a vegetarian choice and also offers steak and chips for the less adventurous but if you like food that is colourful, flavoursome, interesting and above all else delicious then look no further.

Oily’s – WorkingtonMYSELF AND MY HUSBAND TRAVELLED FROM SUNDERLAND TYNE AND WEAR TO PURCHASE A CAR FRON VW FOR OUR SON. THE SALESMAN AT VW RECOMMENDED TRYING OILYS FOR LUNCH, WE ARE SO PLEASED WE NEED TO RETURN TO COLLECT THE CAR AS IT IS THE PERFECT EXCUSE TO DINE AGAIN IN THIS FANTASTIC ESTABLISHMENT. WE WERE GREETED BY TWO MEMBERS OF STAFF WHO WERE BOTH VERY POLITE OUR ORDER WAS TAKEN AND I WAS A LITTLE WARY AS THE PRICES WERE QUITE CHEAP HOWEVER THE FOOD WAS OUT OF THIS WORLD I ORDERED LASAGNE WHICH HALF OF WHICH MY HUSBAND STOLE AND HE HAD SCAMPI WITH PROPER CHIPS. WE ASKED TO COMPLIMENT THE CHEF WHO CAME TO SPEAK TO US, HE SHOWED THE EVENING MENU (WHICH WE WILL BE SAMPLING) AND WHEN HE FOUND OUT ABOUT HOW FAR WE HAD TRAVELLED HE MADE US A BEAUTIFULL BEEF BAGETTE TO TRAVEL HOME WITH. WE CAN RECOMMEND THIS AS BEAUTIFUL HOME COOKED FOOD FANTASTIC CUSTOMER CARE THE ONLY COMPLAINT IS THE 200 ROUND MILE TRIP WE WILL HAVE TO MAKE, BUT WE WILL.
Oily’s – WorkingtonFantastic service, good food and great value for money, somewhere good to take the other half!
Ristorante Rossini – UlverstonHad an excellent lunch in this modern bright Bowness cafe. Tip top Chili on a baked potato. Dined on a window table overlooking the busy street, great for a voyeur like me! The place has boutique B&B rooms too. give it a whirl...
Monties – Windermerefabulous food, friendly relaxed service. really good standard and choice. apple crumble best ever tasted
New Inn – ApplebyI’ve been there a few times with my girlfriend and even organised my parent's ruby anniversary there. I don't have a bad thing to say about the place, every time the staff have bent over backwards to do their best and even though I personally haven’t had any delays in service I’ve heard that a couple friends of mine who did have to wait a little (10 mins max on this one occasion) didn't mind because the food definitely made up for it. The people I’ve spoken to all say its a massive improvement on what it used to be and for me, after many times of going to another well known place near McDonald's in Workington and being squashed together on a Saturday night, Oily's the only place I would take a date to eat at. Overall, good service, plenty of parking space, great food & low cost! (Especially on a Sunday --> 3 courses for less that £10!) My one recommendation is make a reservation earlier on in the week (or a week before that) for an evening meal because this is a very popular place!
Oily’s – WorkingtonEXCELLENT - 6 of us had a fabulous meal on Saturday night to celebrate a friends birthday. The food was excellent and all of our party enjoyed the meal. Nive bar/lounge upstairs to relax in while you peruse the menu. Good cross section of choices for all the 3 courses @ £16-95 per head. Some supplements were applicable for a Fillet steak and cheese and biscuits etc. Very good wine list. Well worth a visit if you are ever in Bowness-On Windermere. Would advise booking because it is not a large restaurant.
Postilion Restaurant – WindermereAtmosphere and food fantastic, lovely meal, lovely evening, heavily recommend!!!!
Grants Of Castlegate – PenrithWELL RECOMMENDED QUALITY FOOD AT AFFORDABLE PRICES
Crofters – Barrow-in-Furnessoilys workington i have eaten here a few times now and i think the place is not consistent as every time has been different sometimes the meal is excellent and other times it is just average. the place it self is very nice although confusing as you are eating pub grub in restaurant style surroundings the staff and service:service is good most of the waiting staff are pleasant but there is a few unpleasent waiting staff this place will do well if it sorts its consistency and staff 8/10 good grub recommended
