I had a birthday afternoon tea for my friend i was rather disappointed in the quality of the food the Yorkshire pudding was served cold and rather dry the beef was fatty and too much garnish crammed into the pudding the sandwiches and scone was nice but rest bland and served cold nit the best experience to be honest

Staff were great and did best they could with what they had to work with, Whole place, spa included needs some TLC.

Someone bought us a voucher through buyagift and this is where we chose to go. The hotel and spa needs updating (which I think they’re in the process of), a lot of paint flaking off etc. The food was nice but there wasn’t a lot of choice for lunch, just sandwiches or panini’s, the atmosphere was a bit dull too. There was only us and one other table, could have done with some background music. The treatments were good and the staff were lovely, the hotel just needs updating a bit

Disappointing food. Advertised as 'delicious two course lunch' so being in a health spa I expected the menu to have healthy starters and main courses. Instead we were handed a menu with a choice of sandwiches and crisps or toasties, paninis with fries or pizza as the first course then we were offered chocolate cake or fruit scone with jam n cream. Not exactly fitting with our expectations. My friend was also lactose free and there was nothing she could have as a second course and was offered another sandwich instead! We won't be going back as it was definitely not value for money. Spa area very dated. Pool cold and there were young children in the pool and sauna n steam room. Not something I expect on an adult relaxing spa day!

Lunch menu is very limited, we asked to have a meal from the hub menu and the waitress went out of her way to help with that. Really just needs more choice and some healthier options would be great. That said the food was really tasty and everyone enjoyed their meal.

How anyone can score the food here anything less than a 4.5 is beyond me!! Service was wonderful, all lovely smiling faces and the food, wow. There isn't a great selection, but what the do, they do well!! I was not disappointed!!

Food was ok , when it said a two course meal i wasn’t expecting a sandwich, when we order it took 35 mins to arrive , surroundings were lovely, we enjoyed watching the people playing golf, The spa is very dated , amazing what a lick of paint could do, also went in for a hour treatment and my partner only got half an hour , someone didn't get the meno, dont think we will be returning

We have stayed here twice over the past year and even though it needs some work we love the place. The food is really really good, I find the restaurant though bland in decor for such a lovely room it could be nicer, service can be slow at times but overall we will defo be back.

My sister and I had afternoon tea at Hall Garth Hotel and I have got to say we were extremely disappointed. Some of the bread was almost stale and the cakes were certainly not the best we had tasted. The service was slow and we had to ask twice for a second pot of tea which we were told we would be charged for. Will not be returning here.

Food is OK, nothing special, in fact quite expensive for pizza, fries and the smallest salad ever. Disappointed being asked if we want service charge left on, I like to decide if service warrants a tip, makes it off putting. One of our party found something in his glass, yes it was dealt with but shouldn't happen. Don't think we will eat here much.
