The Royal Oak – BuxtonIf you have children its best to avoid this unfriendly pub! Although they have baby changing and highchairs in the so called 'Family Room' we were recently asked to leave because our annoying children were laughing to loud!
The Old Clubhouse – BuxtonMy family went to Hobby Horse tonight. The woman who took our order was totally rude and unfriendly. We should have walked out then but we ordered our food. My Dad had fish, chips and mushy peas. The chips and mushy peas were cold. My Mum had steak, mushroom sauce, chips and peas. Her steak was so tough she couldn't eat it. I had lamb which came with mash potato and veg. The lamb was lovely and so was the veg and gravy but the mash potato was lumpy. Nobody came to clear our plates away or ask us if we had enjoyed our meal. When we left there was nobody at the counter to complain to. Its the first time we have been there and will definitely not be going back.
Hobby Horse, The – ChesterfieldGood atmosphere but not quite the authentic italian it pretends to be
Da Carlo – AshbourneGreat food with a good selection of 'specials'. Very friendly staff and service with a smile. Prices are fair. Worth a visit at any time but especially summer when you can enjoy a good pint in the bear garden overlooking Glossopdale valley.
Hare and Hounds – GlossopVery disappointing, limited menu and 'help yourself to vegetables if you don't eat meat(for the same price!)2 is NOT acceptable! We went Sat 31st Oct for lunch Staff did not understand the pricing ticket system and although one young lady tried to help we were told conflicting things. The soup was tinned and barely heated and the server Katy was downright rude. Not recommended
Wrens Nest – GlossopDefinitely the best restaurant in chesterfield hands down, fantastic food, great atmosphere, friendly staff, what more could you ask for? will definitely be going again!
West Bars Tandoori – ChesterfieldI definitely recommend the millhouse in milford. i went recently with my wife and we both had beautiful steak dinners and a pint and half of real ale for just £13 in total. great food and great prices! oh and i recommend sitting by the window as there is a lovely view of the river derwent running by.
The Mill House – Belperi wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone food awful, staff awful and coffee the worst and don't try and tell them otherwise....
Victoria Restaurant, The – Chesterfieldi wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone food awful, staff awful and coffee the worst and don't try and them otherwise....
Victoria Restaurant, The – ChesterfieldThe food and atmosphere is excellent, we always have a great time. Strongly recommend!!
Lombardis – ChesterfieldI went for a meal last night 25/07 2009 for my birthday and I was greatly disappointed and disgusted on the cleanliness on the restaurant, we had to clean our own table, get our cutlery and went we went for our meal they only had ham no turkey or beef the food was all over the counter and the floor was covered in food which people had trodden in, it was still like that when we left an hour later. I will not be eating there again.
Wrens Nest – GlossopOften visit for the lunch time carvery with friends from Chesterfield. Very good wholesome food, excellent value. John Goodwin Waltham lincolnshire
De Rodes Arms Brewers Fayre – ChesterfieldI recommend that you avoid this establishment at all costs. Particularly if you are vegetarian. Obviously a limited alternative choice is to be expected when the main feature is a carvery but my red pepper parcel arrived cremated to the extent that the blackened lump hidden underneath bone dry reheated puff pastry was unrecognisable as ever having been a vegetable. In fact it resembled the texture and appearance of another local product...coal. I did not have the luxury of additional time to complain and await a dubious replacement as I had an urgent appointment elsewhere. Had I not discovered an infinitely superior meal at the Plug and Feathers the following day I would have feared for the gastronomical future of the residents of Glapwell but this travesty of a young Brewers Fayre really should vanish.
Young Vanish Brewers Fayre – ChesterfieldWhat a fabulous place this is. Finally, right in the heart of Glossop, a proper deli. The girls that run this business stock the most wonderful cheese and wine and so many other fantastic things. They are always keen to advise customers and acquire special requests. If you haven't been in yet then you must pay them a visit even if its just for a look.
Praze Fine Foods – GlossopThis is without doubt the best in Derbyshire, the food is fantastic, the service is second to none. The owner is also the head chef and nothing is to much trouble. I eat out a lot and the Spanker is my first choice everytime I can get in.
The Spanker Inn – BelperThe food at this restaurant is very very nice, a group of friends enjoyed a special night out there and went back again for the banquet menu which is superb, service was excellent, the only down side is the fact that it's only a small restaurant, so book early for a weekend meal. I highly recommend it for the quality of it's food.
