The Church House Inn was one of the reasons we bought a house in Stokeinteignhead - its a fantastic village with a brilliant pub. Anthony and Nicky have really got it right - very welcoming, great food, lots of interesting things on the menu including Dave's specials, as well as the traditional things like great steaks and fantastic fish and chips with really chunky local sourced fish. Great Sunday roasts too. Fantastic value - the the pub is buzzing with lots of people which is just how a village pub should be. Really recommended and they are introducing all kinds of special event nights as well including jam sessions on Tuesdays - huge fun! Really worth a visit - you will want to to go back! Having found nowhere in Okehampton or Tavistock we thought just drive back to Glos, but the twinkling lights of Il Casita shone out. It was early 7pm but we were seated and served very quickly. Opted for Il rapido menu served 6.30pm to 8. Very reasonable price for 3 courses I would be hard pushed to get a pub meal. Starters ranged from home made soup to plate of salami with garlic bread for £1 extra. main course I had seabass my OH had pork loin with pancetta sauce served with potatoes carrots and mange touts perfectly cooked. Other was a veg risotto. Desserts again home made good ole tiramisu or cheescake of the day or ice cream. Glass of house red and orange juice but we had no coffee came to £28 beat that. The manageress lovely friendly and quick service sent us homeward replenished.

A gastropub with brilliant food and a wine selection to die for. We dined in the bar where we were warmed by the woodburning stove. The 24 hour cooked pork just melted in the mouth and with a NZ Pinot Noir to drink you could not wish for anything finer. We have enjoyed many meals here and can only give it the highest recommendation. we will be back!!

Visited this restaurant and was extremely disappointed. Upon arrival we stood for a few minutes whilst the man at the bar seemed rather preoccupied with something else. We were then shown to our seats and it was some ten minutes before he came to attend to us, a smile, warm welcome and offer of drinks on arrival would have been nice. He seemed completely disinterested in our custom. With our wine we were served some processed olives, squares of hard butter and stale bread, not a good start. Because of this, we opted to have some 'nibbles' rather than a full meal. One of the dishes costing around £5 consisted of 4 small prawns, i suspect formerly frozen. They had very little flavour and 2 of them together wouldn't fill a teaspoon. We also had battered squid which tasted of batter and little else. Finally some mushrooms on toast - sorry don't have the correct name for these dishes, the mushrooms were very tasty but the bread was a soggy lump beneath. If I were to give constructive criticism to the owners I would suggest the following: 1. Make people feel welcome! 2. Offer drinks on arrival. 3. Ask if your customers are happy with their food. 4. Get a better chef or concentrate on what you're good at, I believe your pizzas are good. On a less important note, make your decor more welcoming, less contemporary and stark and more Italian, play Italian style music! And light some candles in the evening. I think that would really help your business become a success. Many of these things cost nothing, especially the warm welcome! Very disappointing.

Superb and friendly atmosphere. Food of a high standard. They also have one or more meeting rooms. Toilets are clean. My wife is picky about the quality of her food and this is always a safe bet.

Have been going to Bistro One for over a year now when visiting Plymouth. I particularly like the changing menu as I am an avid supporter of local food and this restaurant delivers with great fish like Gurnard, Grey Mullet and Atlantic Octopus. Also enjoyed Venison Bourguignon and some excellent Squinzano from Southern Italy. Great consistency at Bistro One, looking forward already to my next visit when I am promised local Calves Liver.

thought i was going into a little country pub wrong inside was light airy, real log fire .settees and arm chairs to sit on ,food was home cooked, not prepacked ,four real ales of which i tried and where excellent will be going back more often

We went there for my sons 40th birthday and were blown away by the way we were treated as soon as we walked in the door.coats were taken and then the waitress showed us to our table. the food was excellent the wine list vast ,I can honestly say it was the best meal I have tasted in a very long time.If you are ever in Torquay book a table I promise you wont regret it.

Had lunch with you today and i have to say two courses for £10.00 with the food you are serving is a bargain. Amazing value for money. We will be in to try your evening menu very soon.

Definitely gone down hill recently, apparently due to the presence of the new head chef, sloppy presentation and over-cooked fish seem to have become commonplace in what used to be one of my favourite restaurants in the area. however, lovely welcoming place to stop by for a pint or glass of wine.

Best steak I have had in a very long time! Great value for money, good quality food and a pleasant service. i would definitely recommend this place to my friend for her 40th birthday.

Brilliant restaurant, booked for 12 ppl, only 9 of us turned up due to snow!!!! Staff were very accommodating, food fantastic -my 40th birthday and they gave me a glass of champers and even hid a cake and brought it out lit with sparklers...so so great in Zizzi, Exeter 10/10 Definitely visit again

Visited this restaurant for the first time last night. The food was fantastic! My husband had pizza, I had pasta...both wonderful, generous servings and very fairly priced. Reserved but friendly staff. Lovely and warm on a cold winter night, with old stripped wood floors and deep red walls, very welcoming. They also do 'take out' again very fairly priced! We'll definitely be going back soon! We highly recommend!

honeymoon is a great place to go with friends and family and is a favourite venue of mine (and my friends) for anniversaries and birthday celebrations.a friendly environment that is warm and comfortable with a relaxing ambiance. the service is excellent and the chef is to be compliment. my thanks to the staff for looking after us...we will be back!

We saw a sign on the A303 directing us to The Flintlock Inn, just inside the Devon border. This was a real find. The pub was full of character, with a wood burner and bread oven. The owner was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The staff were attentive and friendly. The french onion soup was the best we'd ever tasted and the Sunday roast was plentiful and truly delicious. We couldn't manage a third course! I always like to check out the toilets to make sure they're of a good standard and these didn't disappoint. They were well decorated, very clean with fresh flowers. I'll be recommend this pub to all my friends and we'll certainly be stopping there again when en route up the A303.

I used to be a regular business luncher at Positano's and the food and service is very good. However at weekends on two occasions I have tried to book a table just for two and its been refused because only two are coming or cancelled by them on the day 'because of a mistake'

What a great place! Tucked away in the countryside and full of character. The owner has a high reputation already from his previous venue in Torquay and is a master patissier, that's if you have room after a delicious main course and starter. We went in December as a Party for a special and well priced Christmas Menu. Several also stayed over and were also impressed by the accommodation and breakfast. I would like to have taken up their Winter Warmer offer but unfortunately couldn't go in the week due to work commitments. However, I will certainly look forward to making another visit.

Have a great meal relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff.Was nice to be able to see the chefs cooking and they have real Thai chefs in the kitchen. There was a cross range of customers from 2 people to a table of 10 or more. It was nice a s my partner is a picky eater and wont try different foods os I had the Thai and he had the American side of the menu so we were both happy. We went at a weekend but will definitely be back! They do 2-4-1 weekdays in the evening so its a cheap night out. Well worth a try.
