Ganges – PaigntonWe had a wonderful Sunday lunch in Bearslake Inn two weeks ago and stayed in a really beautiful old room. The service and ambience were second to none. Our bed was the most comfortable I have slept in for years and a great nights sleep followed by one of the best freshly cooked breakfasts we have ever had ended a really enjoyable stay. Well worth every minute of a 4/5 hour drive from London - we will definately go back!

Bank Bistro 62 – BarnstapleA gem . . . over the road form the harbour, this restaurant is an excellent choice for fish lovers and offers other dishes if you are not.
Saxtys – BrixhamThe consistent quality of food in ASK restaurants makes them one of our favourite venues in any city. The sympathetic way in which this ancient building has been tastefully transformed into a restaurant with atmosphere is a real credit to the owners. The Custom House on the quay should take this as a fine example of how old and new can be integrated with integrety.
ASK – Exeterall i can say is, if you are in the area, you realy must try it.
Anchor Inn – ExeterThe atmosphere was terrific it was sooo authentic, warm and cozy and intimate, the food was great, home made Houmus and flat bread washed down with some ice cold beer and white wine. Next time I will go for the Tagine of the day it looked lovely.
Al Farid – ExeterGreat waitresses, great food, fantastic homemade cakes.
East Gate Cafe and Brasserie The – Tavistockexcellent food the best ever
Williams Arms – BrauntonA very friendly chinese restaurant, that serves excellent food and has a great ambience. Well worth a visit; we'll certainly be going back for more!
Birds Nest Chinese Restaurant – TavistockThe Bearslake Inn is an olde worlde pub the like of which you do not come upon often. The rooms are individually furnished to match the age of the Inn. I stayed here at the end of September once the summer rush had finished. The food was still excellent. Breakfast was a full hearty english if you wished - in my case I ordered boiled eggs along with cereal orange juice and as much tea coffee and toast as I could eat. The dinner was of even higher quality,. I ate there twice during my stay and both times could not find anything to complain about - I chose the mushrooms as a starter and the barbary duck for my first meal completed by the crepes - delicious!! The second time I had the maize fed chicken which was as nice although i did not have a desert as a birthday cake arrived for me in the nick of time!! The pub is a family run business by people who cannot do enough for you and I would highly recommend it for either lunch (if you are hungry after the huge breakfast) or your evening dinner.
