Zeus – PlymouthHave been going to this restaurant with my husband for donkey's years. Consistantly excellent food and great, friendly staff, Have just had my husband's 65th birthday party there - fab reviews from everyone. Special mention for wonderful chef Sharon - she makes it all taste fantastic! Suzy B
Barbican Pasta Bar – PlymouthWe had a wonderful day at Castle Barton on the occasion of our Golden Wedding anniversary on May 25th. Lunch was delicious. Excellent service. A lovely oasis to relax over a meal anytime. Pretty garden. Thank you Castle Barton for making the day special. Sue
Castle Barton – PaigntonCan't wait coming for first time today me my mum my brother and his partner my bro and his partner have been before they said every thing was fab. We will be having the platters will review when have been.
The Berkeley Bar & Grill – PlymouthBrilliant, lovely food and great staff!. House wine is lovely and excellent potion sizes.
Positano – PlymouthWe stayed nearby and chose to give the Ryden Inn a try for an Evening meal. We were welcomed not only by friendly staff and a pleasant atmosphere, but most enjoyably an exciting specials board. We had Lamb Cutletts in Madeira Sauce and Wild Mushrooms and Sea Bass with Crab and Saffron sauce. We were both extremely impressed with our meals.I would go as far as saying it was near perfect, very tasty at a great price. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and would recommend eating here to anyone.
Rydon Inn and Restaurant – HolsworthyOn holiday in the area, drove past and, stopped as the pub looked nice from the outside. Husband ordered Paignton Pie (chicken, ham and mushroom in cheese sauce with crunchy topping) chips and peas. I had duck breast with a potato and bacon cake, vegetable rosti and a red wine and port sauce. Hubby's dinner was delicious and mine was the best duck I have ever eaten. I also had white chocolate and pistachio parfait for dessert. Fantastic :-)Reasonably priced for excellent food....pint of coke, pint of ale, 2 mains, 1 dessert £30. Friendly staff. Will go again when in the area.
Crossway Inn The – OkehamptonI come here reguarly with family for any excuse that we can find - brilliant food and service. On my most recent visit a waiter approached to apologise for the delay as the Chef had made a mistake and so started a fresh batch, but it was nowhere near a long wait - just goes to show the lengths they go to to ensure nothing short of excellent us timer service. Will be back again for my birthday!
Hare And Hounds – Newton AbbotHad one of man vs food meals. All cooked perfect, friend had meatier pizza without bread all meat base what a thing, well done.
Barbican Steakhouse – PlymouthMy friend and I had the most fantastic meal here. We stumbled across the restaurant by lucky chance and now I can't wait to come back! Beautiful, melt in the mouth fillet steak, and a delicious, fresh, simply fantastic sushi selection. One of my favourite meals ever.
Steaks N Sushi – ExeterGreat value cinema deal with Reel Cinema. Had mixed nachos with beef, chicken and refried beans and glass of house red for £12.50 including the cinema. Decor is improved and slight changes to menu but other than that as good as ever.
Lorenzo – PlymouthI strongly recomenend giving this" little village pub" (A basement under flats)a wide berth, sun evening myself and fellow members of the local fire station chose to have our christmas get together there,1 week prior to the evening i went and ordered our food and paid a deposit,on the evening of the meal i was told we hadn't paid on our previous visit ( to order food) for 1 drink, which i found hard to believe as we had ordered a drink then paid a depositnow comes the real true character of our friendly landlord,i paid in full the additional amount demanded without question, but on leaving ,i said see you next time to which i had a response of "we will see "i took this as an insult after spending in excess of 60 pounds when i asked what he meant i was told "come outside and we will sort it out there"i took this as a direct threat.by now a few of his locals i personally knew stepped in to prevent him from causing me harm as a 17 stone mans, man i found this beyond belief that a little fat man thought he might try to intimidate me,but as a a greater man i left without fuss,i can only recommend unless you enjoy being insulted as a local you stay away or stand the chance of the wrath of our "nice "new landlord
Devon Tors Bar and Restaurant – YelvertonMy girlfriend and I was lazing on a Sunday morning and didn't want to cook a roast so we googled pubs near Okehampton and this one stood out. When we walked in we were welcomed by an open fire place and pleasant landlady. We were dubious about the food due to the rustic look of the inn, however when our roast was placed in front of us we had a huge smile on out face as it looked amazing, lots of meat and even more seasonal veg! To go with this there was a great selection of Ales, recommend the Legendry. Small selection of desserts on offer but oh my goodness, the apple, raisen and rum crumble was out of this world, not only that, it was a huge portion! Great value for money, great food and drink, gat experience. Highly reccommended.
Northmore Arms – OkehamptonWent with our daughter Wendy and her hubby and two others when we went to visit them in Torquay. This was everything and more you could wish for Hazel was great and food was wonderful. Would recommend to anyone who lives round that way and anyone going to Torquay from Norfolk. We will look forward to our next visit.
Memories Bistro – TorquayVery disappointing experience with Wah Tin. Ordered as takeaway, took nearly 2 hours to get here, and two of the dishes weren't what we'd ordered. Rang up to enquire and the manager went on a lengthy rant about how we were in the wrong, and about how we didn't know a thing about Chinese food...Eventually got them to send the items they'd got wrong, only sent one of the two. Only saving grace was the utterly lovely and apologetic delivery driver, but definitely wouldn't consider eating from here again.
Wah Tin – PlymouthStrada in Princesshay is excellent, I visit at least twice a week, food excellent and the staff cannot do enough for me. I am actually Visiually Impaired and an OAP but don't look my age. Visited the restaurant one evening last week and again the food was excellent, they certainly work very hard indeed. Even with a party on singing Happy Birthday.
Strada – ExeterHave been twice it has a buzzing atmosphere and great deals on cocktails! I am pathetic when it comes to anything 'hot' but there was enough for me to choose from - and all 3 other people at the table said my starter was sweet not hot, so very much personal taste for wimps! But both times I went I had different choices etc looks great as well would recommend.
Las Iguanas – PlymouthGood steak and half a chicken at £4.99 each. However the chilli con carne was very hot and my daughter could not eat it. At the end of the meal the chilli con carne had not been eaten since it was too hot for her to eat even though she usually eats chilli con carne. Don't expect good customer service either because after mentioning the chilli con carne had not been eaten, the owner geoff did not seem interested and told us he has been the owner for 35 years. All he offered us was a free drink on our return but after his attitude we will not be returning. He refused to offer us a refund on the chilli con carne at £7.95. I tasted the chilli con carne and it wasn't very tasty. No one had checked during the meal to see if we were enjoying it or needed anything else.
The Hunting Lodge – IvybridgeSunday Menu: 2 courses, £31; 3 courses, £39.50.
