My partner and I had a great meal at Harry's Grill a couple of weeks ago. A busy Saturday night but nicely attentive and unhurried service, buzzy but easy atmosphere and delicious steak cooked to perfection. We enjoyed pre dinner cocktails in the ground floor bar before heading upstairs. A great place for a drink even if you are not having a meal! Certainly somewhere we will go again.

I would like to commend Marla, the American waitress we have had on our last two visits, she is absolutlry fanatastic. I am from Canada and the American diner is great. One thing you dont have and is a reg on New York streets is the chilli dog, would be nice if you added that on. Great food, enjoyed several Sunday lunches here, clean pub with friendly staff, prices very reasonable and families with small children are welcome, would highly recommend to all.

WOW WOW WOW!!! The best chips I have tasted in the 40 years and some I've been on this planet. Me and my partner took a short 2 night break this week and on the first evening we were greeted with a lovely young lady offering free sample chips to try. We normally avoid these sort of gimmicks like the plague but my partner couldn't resist and soon reeled me into have a try!! It was so soft and fluffy on the inside and the great battered texture on the outside without a trace of grease like you'd expect from the good old UK chippy!! We have been frequenting this establishment since the 1970's when the family moved in and we have to say that it is indeed a wonderful and most friendly restaurant place.The food is excellent and we recommended it. Mike and Maureen.

Very well presented, good food and good value.

Lovely building and location, good consistent food, bets for a large group really as they accommodate these very well. Lots of room and no need to pay deposit or pre-order which is brilliant. Shame staff are a little more friendly - some are and some are not. Overall a good night out. Check online for offers too before you go.

I went to this restaurant to take advantage of a Sugervine offer, that part didn’t work out but I will explain that later. Day of visit: Wednesday Time of visit: 6:00pm Access and Facilities In Plymouth city centre not far from a car park, it is all relatively flat so it should not be a problem for people with buggies or a wheel chair. The place itself is simple to get into but some of the seating is raised which may be an issue. I didn’t see a disabled toilet (I may simply have missed it) although the standard one would be fine if you were able to walk a little. Service It was quiet as they had just opened so cannot really comment on how service goes when things get busy but as you would expect for the time the service was very quick and efficient. The waiter was excellent and the service personable without being overzealous. Atmosphere I image this place is great once it gets really full but even quite the place has a nice atmosphere, lots of space, Italian décor and Italian muszak (live music on certain days I understand) and all the staff I saw spoke Italian (or at least were pretending to :) Drinks Across the board I thought the drinks were a little overpriced, only slightly, for an Italian restaurant. We went for the Montepulciano (second on the list) which was over £15, it was lovely, and would usually hover at the £12-£14 mark especially when you could get it from Aldi down the road for £4 a bottle and sell it by the Carafe as the house red with a respectable but fair mark-up. We didn’t have a coffee or hot drink after, it was offered, but the prices looked fairly standard. Food The bread and olive starter was complimentary which is something I really miss with the big chain restaurants where you get nothing free. There is a good selection of starters and mains, but not the usual 3 page mammoth menu you sometimes get in small places, and as you would expect for Plymouth there were more than a few seafood dishes. For the mains it is highly dependent on what you have, we both had pasta, but the food was excellent. I couldn’t say whether the pasta is made fresh on the premises but everything else was so I expect it is too. My only minor complaints would be that no bread came out with the main (not usual for chain restaurants but common in local Italian restaurant and certainly in Italy) and the portions were a little small. Portion size is not a major issue as it would depend on how much of an appetite you have but I would advise getting a couple of sides if you are really hungry. The desert menu looked great. We were told the deserts are made fresh on site and they certainly tasted as if they were. Over all and Price A great place and I can certainly say I will be going back. The price was not bad and certainly in line with any Italian chain restaurant you might visit if you aren’t using any sort of voucher code. Sugervine offer There was a ‘Happy Hour’ offer where any pizza or pasta dish was £5. I did ring during the day but no one was there (no lunch service on a Wednesday so that was understandable) and none of the waiting staff knew anything about it. Explaining it was hard and I didn’t want to not eat so I didn’t get the offer…my advice ring and book the evening before telling them you will be using the offer or print out the offer and bring it with you.

Fantastic food and atmosphere as usual.

We did the cinema deal, a (large) tapas, drink and cinema ticket for £11.95 - brilliant dinner!!! Excellent service and cosy place.

I have been to this restaurant twice in the past month and will visit there again tomorrow night. The food was lovely and fresh , the waiting staff very attentive and friendly and the atmosphere was super. Really enjoyed the entertainment

Absolutely awful!!!!! It was my first visit to Badgers Holt today and it will be my last. The staff were very laid back and seemed to be preoccupied even though it wasn't busy. There were two cats wandering about in the dining area. Not very hygienic. When our drinks came out the contents of the mugs were spilt into each saucer and the teaspoons were left dunked in the mugs. The toilets had strip light with a missing bulb, surely a health and safety risk. Also there were scrappy pieces of soap on the basins, obviously full of bacteria. . Definitely will not be returning. COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY!!!!!

Visited 16/2/13 party of 7, all enjoyed an excellent meal, large portions ,food piping hot.

What a lovely surprise. Went there for Sunday lunch with a relative from Paignton who has not been there previously. The owners/hosts were so pleasant and lovely. The food really was excellent. To live so closeby and although we had previously heard good comments but not to have visited we should be feeling very guilty. See you again soon with a bunch of our friends and I will give them a surprise not to be forgotten. Thank you

Visited on consecutive nights between Christmas and new year as I was so impressed with the first visit.An extensive menu with varying specials I selected pork loin served with lyonnaise potatoes, succulent tasty pork and the lyonnaise is a difficult dish often bland but they have it mastered here, as good as any michelin starred west end restaurant.The icing on the cake, (the homemade sweets are delicious) hmm it's between the fabulously kept ales and the very efficient smiling staff, whatever it is, they have a winning formula here.Happy to report that the pool table has gone replaced by yet more dining tables.The way they are going they will need to extend...
