Lotus Garden The – HartlepoolThe Comet has been given a complete makeover and now looks amazing inside! The food and service are superb and all the main courses on the regular menu are under a tenner! With it's excellent location, overlooking the river, it's well worth a visit.
Comet The – DarlingtonWent on a whim last night and was very impressed. Friendly and helpful service coupled with tasty authentic food. It was also prepared to order so those worried it might be too spicy need not be so. We will certainly go again and have no hesitation in recommending it.
Mohujos – Billinghamwe have visited the riverside on several occasions and the food is always great. whether it be for the lunch time or early bird special you will not be disappointed. they aslo offer excellent set menus at reasonable prices. staff always friendly and attentive. well worth a visit
Riverside – Chester-le-StreetI had been told about the otter and fish by a friend ,i live in York but will travel for nice food . Well five of us wanted up and booked a room at the croft spa and dine up at the otter on the Friday night. All i can say about the meal is wonderful, from the great food till the nice waitress called charlotte. With a great chef and this wonderful waitress this place will go far. But there is one down side it is a bit far from York to eat a few time a week.... pity.. but i will be back.
Otter and Fish Inn The – DarlingtonGreat restaurant! Been many there many times and had a great meal every time.
Garden Of India – DarlingtonThe best Chinese restaurant in Darlington. Highly recommended. Food is great, the staff are excellent.
Eastern Bamboo – DarlingtonThis has got to be Billingham's Best Kept Secret. This is the kind of restaurant you expect to see in Yarm or on the Marina at Hartlepool its so classy. I recommend we all use it as much as we can before we lose them to some upmarket quayside location when they realise just how good they are. Libby and Ian,Wynyard.
Mohujos – BillinghamFine food, friendly staff and excellent entertainment. They even have a magician on Friday and Saturday night! It's difficult to get a table so best to book!
Lotus Garden The – HartlepoolWe enjoyed our meal at Mohujos and will be back again for sure. Very nice relaxed atmosphere too.
Mohujos – BillinghamBrilliant night at the bridge we had 2 courses and to be honest they exceeded our expectations the food was outstanding and the service was brilliant very helpful girl will def return *****
Bridge Hotel – DurhamLovely people and lovely food. Had a gorgeous prawn soup. Thought it was great value for money and will definitely go back.
Baan Thai Restaurant – HartlepoolI wasn't sure what to expect as I had been told mixed reviews, however I could not find anything wrong with this restaurant. We got the two courses for £11 and the food was excellent also the house white wine was lovely. I would go to this place again, my friend and I were really impressed.
Mohujos – BillinghamAbsolutely fantastic visit here, everything great
Oldfields – Durhama bit wishy washy in places but it could improve with some work and a bit of planning, the local aspect was ok but surely the quality would have been better if they shopped around, and lets face it, 60 miles is no selling point, they could have bought the stuff at Asda a few miles away, that said it was nice enough, and I didn’t feel sick or anything, i wont be going again, its nothing special, but seriously its ok for a cheap and cheerful look out if you have just got your giro .
Oldfields – DurhamThe food is excellent but expensive: a treat rather than a regular event. Lately though they have added a service charge to the bill which I think is more than a bit cheeky: I'D like to decide if a tip is deserved and how much! It's also worth checking the bill. Friends and I have, on separate occasions, been charged for items we have not had eg. two bottles of wine instead of one.
Bistro 21 – DurhamThis is a wonderful place to eat, chat and meet friends. The food is great and not too expensive so families can afford to eat out. The staff were very accommodating when I turned up late for my table recently (well worth a good tip). This is a very popular place so booking is essential especially at weekends
Plough Inn The – DurhamThe place was fantastic, along with the atmosphere and the food... especially the cheesecake, delicious!!
