Linda

i went to this restaurant for a friends birthday there was 12 of us unfortunately we waited over 30 min just for the starter we would not have minded if the place was busy but there was only us in there and to make matters worse some of the starters were cold and looked like they had been cooked 3 days ago. later on in the evening one of the waiters started on the birthday boy he did not like the idea that he gay mind u my friend is very camp but was in no way being disrespectful to any one and the waiter just started being really disrespectful towards him then would no serve his food to him i was very disappointed with the attitude and when i asked why he was like that he said he is scared incase my friend try to touch him up ( he needs to stop thinking he is specially) my friend had never felt so upset and disappointed that the night led to us just going home instead of a night out like we planned my opinion if they dont like it they should get there curry pots and nan bread n take it back to india

appalling pub/restaurant. Rude staff, tasteless unappealing food. The worst public house that i have ever visited in my entire life.

Top class Indian Cuisine - i take my family regularly, and sometimes go with a group of friends. No complaints, just recommendations, definitely worth a visit

Absolutely the best Indian in County Durham, cant fault the food. Each meal i have had from here is amazing. Zafflong do takeaways as well as eat in meals, and in personal opinion, eating in the restaurant is far better than takeaways. I eat here often, and have yet to have a bad meal. Highly, highly recommended

I have eaten here at least half a dozen times and have never been disappointed. The food is truly superb. The most difficult thing is deciding what to choose, everything on the menu sounds so good. On my last visit earlier this month, I chose the scallops to start, beautiful, then had the grilled mixed fish, absolutely fantastic, and then the assiette for dessert. This is a must for anyone who can't make a decision as to what to have for dessert, it is a selection of different things for you to try. It is supposed to be shared by 2 people but they are very generous portions. Everything is homemade, from the bread you get at the start to the desserts at the end, including the sorbet and everything is so beautifully presented. The service is also excellent; staff are attentive without being over intrusive. The current owners have made a huge improvement to the restaurant and it is a lovely place to enjoy a fabulous meal. Being from Middlesbrough I have eaten at many restaurants in and around the area and I can honestly say the food here is the best I've had.

Had a great meal here, friendly staff, excellent value for money. Sat outside in clean and tidy beer garden. We will return.

The George and Dragon looks good, but....Oh dear. What kind of people think the food is nice? We went for Sunday lunch, and it took 3 hours!!!!! Average meat, unsalted/buttered veg, schoolgirls serving without a clue. It didn't help that my mother-in law had had a similar experience during the week with friends who had come fifty miles on her recommendation, Rubbery meat and landlord with 'can't be bothered' attitude. What on earth did they pay Mike Amos for his review in the Echo. We will be sticking to the decent places to eat. Go back to plumbing mate!

Having been disappointed once before at Oldfields in Jesmond (now moved to near the Quayside), I recently went to the Durham restaurant and was thoroughly impressed. The food was simple but very well put together and tasty, using local ingredients such as the divine Durham Cow Blue cheese. All 3 courses were excellent, finishing with a moreish gooseberry, shortcake and vanilla cream dessert which was pleasantly tangy, not too sweet. As it was the early evening menu it was also exceptionally good value.

i would not recommend chiquito, durham. the five meals we were served had no appeal to the eye, warm not hot, dry and of little food content, all chip portions warm and bland, all main meals very disappointing. sharing dessert wasa total rip-off.

had a fantastic evening, hosted by Kendra and Les, The food was presented superbly and tasted devine. The choice of south american beers is huge, and looks like they cater for all tastes. The Modelo is a nice light hopsy beer, went well with the nachos would rate them as A+ for taste, A+ for quantity, A+ for presentation, A+ for hospitality well worth booking

Voodoo Cafe – Darlington

Now £9.87 for all you can eat, £2 for a pint of soft drinks and most beers/lagers were £2.60. Really good food made to order, not packed full of salt like most all you can eat places, really nice atmosphere and really nice staff. Really worth the price and fresh. Only problem really was the amount of time it took to get the attention of waiters even though it was hardly full, we were there for about 3 hours and still left feeling like we could have eaten more.

First time I have visited the Parkmore for a meal as usually we eat in Yarm, well I know where I will eat from now on. What a great experience food was excellent and waiting staff very attentive. I wish I discovered J's @ 636 a lot sooner. I'm going back again for their lunch offers with a friend next week 2 Courses for £7.95 and 3 courses for £10.95 you can't go wrong.

Had a great night, food excellent and not expensive, with some original beers from all over South America. Can't wait to go back highly recommended.

The Indian food served here is the best in County Durham. The restaurant is more of a relaxed atmosphere than a formal restaurant - it is often quiet and peaceful and the service is OK. The food is amazing, i cant fault it. The starters are beautiful and usually you are served in excellent time. I highly recommend you try this restaurant, its by far my favourite Indian yet :)

Fantastic restaurant, went many years ago and was OK but having visited in November 08, the improvements to the setting, service and food is amazing and have been going back regularly. Good choice of menu and the Sunday Lunch is worth every penny. Lots of good traditional ales on tap too which is always a bonus.

Always our first choice of restaurants in the area for quality, service and overall experience. Adrian;s attention to detail is spot on and reflected through the staff and ultimately in the food served to customers. The food is gorgeous and have never had to make a complaint. Book in advance though or you will lose out.
