Fat Buddha Asian Kitchen – DurhamWe went to this restaurant today as we were in Hartlepool and had the best fish n chips ever. Staff are so nice and friendly lovely atmosphere very good service. I would recommend this place to anyone good luck Mary Lambert. Keep the fantastic service up!! Your staff are amazing .
Mary Lambert – HartlepoolMy son, daughter and myself were invited to a wedding party at Mary Rowntree's on 20 09 13. My sons first impression was "wow" high praise from him being a lad of few words and even fewer deeds. Having purchased the reasonably priced drinks we found a table and proceeded to mingle in with the other guests and relax in the salubrious and amazingly clean establishment. There was a disco (not my taste in music ) which helped create a bouncy atmosphere for the happy occasion. Speeches were made and cakes were cut and everyone proceeded to have a good time. All went well but then the night burst into action when the staff who were dancing about the place put on their own little cabaret which was a joy to behold. The effort those girls put in was over and above the call of duty. Well done them !!! A buffet was provided ( and i must say everything i had was delicious ) resulting in more stuffed animals than there ever were in Greatham. Unfortunately we had to leave early soon after and so we relunctantly said our goodbyes. My sons parting shot "That was different". What an honour !!! Many thanks to all for a superb evening.
Mary Rowntree’s – HartlepoolI have tried fish and chips from everywhere in the local area and these are by far the best value and taste around. Large cod and chips £3.50 and ohhhhh they're good. Can't ask for any more. 5 stars
i Fry – Chester-le-StreetI visited barnacles Billingham on July 31st 2013, I thoroughly enjoyed the food we ordered two cod chips and mushy peas with tea and bread for the very good price of 14.00 approx for the two. All the food was freshly cooked the service was excellent very prompt with our drinks and the waitress (Toni) was very chatty and polite! When we had finished our food which was beautiful and all red hot we were asked if we wanted hot water for our tea pot or anything else, we politely declined but was nice to asked! Will definitely be returning. Sarah
Barnacles – BillinghamI've been several times in the last year.
Seaton Lane Inn – SeahamHi my husband and me have been to the Five Alls a few times and each time we have enjoyed the atmosphere. The staff are really friendly and helpfull. We have been for sunday lunch four times. I can honestly say they are gorgeous, highly recommended. The pub is spotlessly clean, its just a lovely place to be.

Mary Lambert – HartlepoolBest pizza shop in town only tried a few things but everything I have tried has been loverly :)
Best Kebab – CrookWent here last night because I love the food there but Jesus the girl that served me....miserable just doesn't even come close I know people may think it's only a chip shop but at the end of the day I'm a paying customer even just a thankyou when I paid would have been nice I think I'd have getting more common courtesy from a robot! There are plenty of other takeaways in birtley you need to take a look at your staff because that service wasn't even basic it was just diabolical if that was my business and my money she'd be out the door
i Fry – Chester-le-StreetWe booked here as we had been before and enjoyed the food but this time it was a disaster. We arrived at our booked time to find there wasn't a table ready and two tables were pushed together to accommodate all 8 of us. There was no table cloths, or cutlery on tables and we should have heeded the fact that there were empty tables uncleared and the bar was stacked with dirty glasses. We were given some tatty menus but waited 20 minutes to have our drinks order taken. Drinks arrived minus any ice and the coke was flat as a pancake. We were given a grubby pickle tray with our poppodums and plates were not cleared once we had finished. We waited 1 hour and 10 minutes for our starters to eventually arrive and by this time had totally had enough of the poor service. No apology or explanation despite other tables who came in after us already having their main courses. Starters were ok but nothing out of the ordinary. Another hour went by and still no sign of our main courses and by this time the restaurant was now empty. I complained to the management received a half hearted apology and a offer of a bottle of wine. It was long after our bed time by the time we had finished and we finally received an apology. I asked for some money to be knocked of the bill and they reluctantly gave us our first round of drinks for free which was poor compensation. Don't go here the food is average and there are plenty of other places in Hartlepool where the service and quality are far superior. To top it all three of the party were ill the next day with stomach cramps!
Golden Gate – HartlepoolI have always looked on a visit to Barnacles restaurant as a treat something special Good food and service . The decor is nice too. Then there are the birthday wishes sent every year to me dont get them from other places. H Stokes
Barnacles – Stockton-On-TeesWhat a delight to the palate and to the eye. This beautiful old chapel has been restored to glory and it is the first thing that hits when you walk in. My friends and I were greated at the entrance and shown to our table with a smile and welcome. We had a drink while looking through the well designed meue and as the vegetarian I was delighted to see more than one choice! Food ordered we chatted till our starters arrived, followed by main course and deserts. The staff made occasional visits to us to ensure that we had all we required and that we were happy with out meals. I asked for some more vegatables as they were perfectly cooked and delicious. The wine was perfect as well. The price we felt was at the right amount for the meal and service we had received and all in all it was a wonderful evening. My compliments to the chef and it was a joy to find a vegetarian choice that I was excited about. My friends and I have told everone about the resturant and we will be visiting again and often!
