I had one of the special deals of 2 courses for £12.99. The selection was really good and the food was delicious. The meat was local produce which was nice to see. I think Oldfields is a definite for all to try.

The menu for this place is like a bible! So much choice from Indian, Italian, Chinese, English, whatever you fancy they have it. Make sure you book early to avoid disappointment as its very popular.

There were special ales, and ales on special offer. The portions were generous, and clientele very friendly. Most were there for the beer, but the staff made a special effort. Homemade chips delish.

After we heard the bay horse had been taken over we returned because we stopped going and was surprised what the new owners had achieved the food was beautiful and reasonably priced I recommend it highly

i think this is the best Indian restaurant in Hartlepool. I have been coming here for the past 30 years its the best food u can ever taste. Excellent all round.

Although the standards of service have slipped since the departure of manager Matthew Bowmaker, the overall experience is still an enjoyable one. The food is very reasonably priced and the wine list although limited is acceptable. The early diner menu is an absolute bargain!!!!!!

This restaurant is in Barnard Castle, not Durham City! Lovely food in a small and friendly restaurant. Set menu very reasonably priced, a la carte still exceptionally good value.

What a great meal the best in the area I try everywhere and anywhere but I still go back here. This guy who has this place has a good pint on a great menu and friendly and quality staff who care. I recommend to everyone? 9/10

You will get a wonderfully warm welcome at the Black Bull. The food is delicious, the atmosphere lovely, the beer excellent and the staff charming. Please don't go there, as I always want there to be room for me!
