The Farmers Arms – DurhamHad an excellent meal on Tuesday evening. 3 courses for £10 was great value although we happily upgraded and paid a bit more for extra chips and custard. Food was fresh and beautifully cooked. Staff were really friendly. Would highly recommend
The Farmers Arms – DurhamHighly recommend. Always have a lovely meal here. We live 20 mile away but when in the area we always call in. Staff are friendly and polite.
Red Alligator – Bishop AucklandWent for a late Sunday lunch 3pm booked in advance. Restaurant/Bar was not over busy plenty of table choice. Sunday menu offered a few choices & standard Sunday lunch. Ordered Prawn cocktail and a roast beef dinner. Prawn marie sauce was bland and a little tasteless. Roast beef dinner saved the meal. Meat was succulent and cooked well. Yorkshire puddings were good. Gravy had plenty of taste and not like water. Service was good didn't wait too long for coarse. I would return for the Sunday roast, but give the starter a miss.
The George of Piercebridge – DarlingtonAnother excellent meal. Look forward to eating with you again soon.
Red Alligator – Bishop AucklandFood was not served as requested on ordering, items asked for not received, items asked not to be served were served ( chips mussy peas) Struggle to pay nearly £ 20 for steak to be told there was no English mustard availabile. Staff seemed rushed requiring to actually go to bar to order drinks during meal.
The Farmers Arms – DurhamService and food excellent, lovely ambient surroundings, excellent value for money , cannot keep away
The Farmers Arms – DurhamGreat food, great price, great service. Had the mushroom risotto..to die for. Had it in many places before but this topped them all. Good sized portions and had to box up my cheese board as I was full. Highly recommend Wish phones and WiFi would work although in many respects it’s a boon as you’re not interrupted constantly
The Farmers Arms – DurhamOnly had starters as did not like choices on mains. Caeser salad was nice, prawn cocktail a little too spicy. Both overpriced for what they were. Also had afternoon tea as part of a spa package - nice but not something would opt for again. Too much sweet things and left the salmon sandwich as not something I like. Meringue collapsed trying to eat with a knife. The lounge area was nice but not somewhere we would return to.
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonWOW! We had a sensational lunch in here. The quality of each dish was superb - everything was home cooked, piping hot and delicious. And to get three courses for £10 per person was insane - I couldn’t believe how cheap it was. The service was friendly and not at all overbearing, giving the whole place a lovely relaxed vibe. To top it all off, the decor is absolutely fabulous - so eccentric and quirky, something to look at in every direction!
The Farmers Arms – DurhamGreat tapas bar, relaxed atmosphere with good service and tapas.
Gussto Tapas Bar – DurhamGood food at reasonable prices
The Farmers Arms – Durham3 meat spring rolls Excellent Katsu curry Lovely chips nice and soft all the way through Sticky toffee pudding nice Cannot go wrong for £10
The Farmers Arms – DurhamWe have started going here quite regularly. Sometimes through the week and also on Sunday for lunch. Good wholesome traditional food. Service is good and the team are really pleasant. Very minor - sometimes the food could be a bit hotter
