Been going here many years, and love it. Great atmosphere, family friendly, and fabulous food. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. It's great to be able to go to a locally run restaurant that is really superb.

Grumpys Diner – SouthendLovely to be back after the refurb. Meal tasty as ever and the chef was particularly accommodating and pleasant. Would like to see more front of house staff so those who had booked tables could be seated more quickly. Maybe also consider a loyalty scheme to reward returning customers.
The Barn Garden Centre Cafe – ColchesterThoroughly enjoyable, so much so I returned with more family 3 days later. Food was good and plenty enough of it.
Grumpys Diner – SouthendNice atmosphere fair prices staff very polite and engaging overall good experience will be going back to check out the summer garden area for drinks and a meal.
The Blue Anchor – ColchesterThe service and atmosphere were great when we had lunch yesterday. However, we didn’t enjoy the Budda Bowlas much as we had in the past. The new dish is less colourful - pretty much all green! We also preferred the mix of flavours in the previous dish. There was no dressing drizzled over the top which gave the previous dish a more appetising appearance. My friend much preferred the feta cheese offered before rather than the mozzarella. Please bring the old dish back.
The Barn Garden Centre Cafe – ColchesterI have been twice to the Barn, and have found that both meals were tastey. The service was good and the atmosphere really pleasant. The tables are well spaced, so no knockiing into other chairs etc and plenty of room to walk around. menu has just the right mixture. I would higly recommend this as a venue for a lunch out, and then a browse the in the lovely shop next door.
The Barn Garden Centre Cafe – ColchesterLovely food and excellent service. Would have liked a vegetarian sausage with my vegetarian cooked breakfast. Sadly I’ll be visiting less often as very expensive.
The Barn Garden Centre Cafe – ColchesterLovely breakfast as usual - pancakes delicious. Great setting with a fab buzz about it. Staff lovely, food lovely, setting lovely...what more can I say.
The Barn Garden Centre Cafe – ColchesterGreat place, and friendly service. Love your scones and cakes. I would love to have a choice of your home made soups that you used to offer. Not sure about your main meals. Had the platter this week, but was very messy to eat. Your Sunday lunch is the best ever. Keep up the good work x
The Barn Garden Centre Cafe – ColchesterExcellent as usual . Our favourite place for breakfast . Lunches are also very good , especially Sunday lunch .
The Barn Garden Centre Cafe – ColchesterFood was very nice. When being served it was always friendly and polite but it was slow at times.
The Barn Garden Centre Cafe – ColchesterOur favourite local restaurant. Great location and staff. Always busy and buzzy but what about the food ? The menu shrinks on each visit. Bring back the wonderful salads and omelette's . A soup in the winter. Choice is extremely limited !
The Barn Garden Centre Cafe – Colchesterl am a very regular visitor! But the new menu was disappointing, rather generic, no dishes of the day, very bread oriented. l had the Buddha bowl, my favourite, but sadly not as good as previously!! The staff, as always, are delightful. If the menu remains the same, l don’t think I’ll be visiting as regularly, which will be a huge shame, as The Barn is my go to place!
The Barn Garden Centre Cafe – ColchesterWent for lunch, really accommodating for a disabled friend. Great service. I love the mixing of breakfast and main menus. Definitely our go to place for lunch.
Grumpys Diner – SouthendWe visited on 28th January. Our drinks came quickly, but our food did not arrive. Our daughter asked about it, & on checking, it had not been done. Without us asking, we were told that all our drinks would not be charged for, and offered more. when our food came it was lovely, and it was appreciated about our free drinks. Thank you. We have been before, & will visit again.
The Barn Garden Centre Cafe – ColchesterBreakfast on Sunday 28.1.24. first visit of 2024. Been here too many times to mention. Always greeted with a smile, food excellent every time. Would definitely recommend.
