Saqui Tandoori Restaurant – Canvey IslandRising Sun has just had a change of ownership the new landlord has been keeping the traditional atmosphere of a community pub alive. Whether you turn up alone, in a group young old or even if you’re a four legged friend you will have a warm welcome. Facilities on offer darts board games machine and a function room that is available to use (booking needed). Pub already has three regular attending darts teams.
The Rising Sun – BrentwoodMy new favourite! The garden is amazingly quiet for central town and had a delicious light fish lunch. They have a seasonal local menu that apparently changes regularly. Its still is having work done but if it continues like it is at the moment it looks to be a real treat....
Tymperley’s – ColchesterCouldnt try the cusine as the 4 us of were refused entry as we declined to leave copies of ID on their machine. One wonders where they stand regarding The Data Protection Act. Their loss of at least £60 - perhaps Mr Weatherspoon is not bothered.
Moon and Stars – RomfordA very beautiful restaurant with tasty food you can not believe to see such a restaurant in Goodmayes high road. Only place you can find restaurants like this, is in Knightsbridge. I love this restaurant
Ariana Restaurant – IlfordHave a breakfast here nearly every week which is excellent and also go to the supper club which is held every month for fantastic food friendly service and a great atmosphere. We highly recommend it.
The Sunflower Eaterie – Southend On SeaEdinburgh Recently. Great service and delicious food. 10 out of 10 for a good meal without loads of fuss.
Nando’s – ChelmsfordExcellent food, friendly service and value for money.
Corfu – Southend On SeaExcellent food, very good value for money and lastly the atmosphere is great. Staff are very friendly and pleasant.
Chiquita Spanish Restaurant – Southend On SeaExceptional food and cocktails at this new restaurant in Colchester. The dining room is inside an old library next to the Town Hall in the centre. The room is amazing, High ceilings and a stunning cocktail bar. Food is very much fine dining but the service is friendly and not pretentious. They stay open late so stay for a post dinner drink and enjoy the atmosphere. They have private rooms if your fancy making it a little more intimate. Highly recommend.
Memoirs – ColchesterA value for money place to eat. Lovely relaxed friendly atmosphere excellent food and service. Michelle, Scott and their staff are always welcoming and helpful. The monthly quiz nights make for a good evening out. They also now have a monthly 'Supper Club' which is excellent. value. Yes the place is a little off the beaten track but really worth a visit. My wife and I have eaten there and popped in for a coffee regularly for over two years and rarely eat out anywhere else in the area.
The Sunflower Eaterie – Southend On SeaWhat a great atmosphere at this pub. landlord very hospitable , great food.
The Angel Inn – BraintreeUnder new management ...the Sunday carvery is absolutely the best I have had in a very long time .... the meat is so tender and very tasty ...word of mouth is the best form of advertising I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys good food x
The Crooked Billet – Stanford Le HopeVery good, the ribs to die for, also good for takeaway.
Restobistro – EppingGot say Sunday Carvery at the Crooked Billet Lane Stanford Le Hope, was the best I've had in a long time locally. Decent portions great food at a very good price. Unlike the Ship at Little Thurrock which has declined in standards aslong with the size if their dinner plates which were barely bigger than bread plates. Thoroughly recommend the Billet which is under new management.
The Crooked Billet – Stanford Le HopeWhat a great place - jewel in Epping forest. The Gastropub is warm and has log fires and real ales n good wines. Great pub food served daily and a hearty home cooked Sunday roast. They also have a restaurant which is lovely which adjoins the pub and is worth a visit. U can dine in the forest gardens when weather good and they have kids play area and BBQ running in summer.. If I are looking for party or wedding venue then u must check out thei kings room and beach club marquee..both areas are out of this world.. In the summer they have private members beach club out back with 100fy swimming pool on private gardens.. U can dine outside around the pool and single membership is only £55.. This place is somewhere special and highly recommended ..
Kings Oak Hotel – LoughtonI have visted the Merry Fiddlers recently and was given a warm reception by the land lady and her husband. The atmosphere was friendly with lots of locals in the bar, which served good real ales and a good selection of lagers. My partner and me ate in the restaurant and the food and service was excelltent.
The Merry Fiddlers – EppingWas sorely disappointed with Catch. Found the owner to be abrupt, the service whilst pleasant was a bit shoddy and most importantly the food was not up to scratch. Think this place relies on it's marketing as opposed to it's cuisine. Pay more attention to the quality of the food is my advice and try not to rely on the 'happy chappy' routine to sway customers!
