Excellent Sunday lunch

Great atmosphere, brilliant service, lovely food & a live singer who was excellent!

Lovely, warm, cosy & welcoming setting, local authentic atmosphere, stunning food and service. Home cooked, wholesome, fresh meals from an excellent selection and clearly brilliant chefs, and the service was excellent and so efficient from everyone. Just as importantly - when we had a small suggestion about something that we thought may improve our experience, it was solved immediately, efficiently and so friendly & professionally which was highly impressive and made us love the place even more! Its no wonder this place books up and highly recommend and look forward to going back.

My family and I come to Grumpys every few months or so. The food is always outstanding; large portions, gorgeous burgers and plenty of extras to add on. The atmosphere and interior are great, the staff are lovely…it’s honestly one of the best places locally. To top it off, the prices are ridiculously cheap, £90 for two adult meals with sides, desserts and drinks…and FIve Kids meals. Fantastic value for money.

Has a wonderful family Christmas meal. 18 in total over 2 tables. Food and wine were excellent. Service was great. Nothing was too much trouble. Thoroughly enjoyable. Thank you to the chefs, kitchen porters and waiting staff. You made our family event a lovely experience.

Went for my daughter’s 17th birthday. What an excellent meal, the food was excellent, the service great, totally un rushed, unlike some places and the decor and atmosphere really lovely. Our starters and mains were exceptional however our desserts were just ok, but it didn’t spoil the evening and we will definitely return.

Our first visit. Impressed by the beautiful exterior and interior. Friendly welcome. Great service throughout. Food outstanding. Lovely atmosphere and we were able to chat to our friends without being drowned out by loud music. We will return.

We had breakfast with Santa on Saturday the 14th December. The whole experience from start to finish was outstanding. Service on welcome was so lovely. My little boy was really excited and found the Santa experience really personal. Santa made his way round all the tables taking time out to speak to all the children. We found it so pleasurable. The breakfast and drinks so tasty too were are delivered in a timely manner all with excellent service. Gift given to our son was so nice too he was really pleased with it. Well worth the money. We shall treasure this experience and will definitely return again next year. Thank you to all the staff at the blue anchor.

Very warm welcome both in terms of atmosphere & roaring fire. Very good pub food, service was excellent. Will br going back and definitely recommend it.

Wonderful breakfast with Santa. Enjoyed by adults and children. Excellent food great attention to details both on the table and in the restaurant. Great Santa and good presents for grandchildren. Highly recommend.

We had a lovely meal from the festive menu. The surroundings and service was excellent.

Dan kindly allocated a larger table at very short notice when my group increased on the day. We received excellent table service that night & everyone agreed the food was A1. Nice atmosphere in the pub/restaurant too. Great night out thanks to the team at the Blue Anchor.

I had the tart, I too found it dry,and the new potatoes were cold and needed some butter. hope it's better next time as the Barn is a great place to shop

The atmosphere is briliant. I have had cheese scones with butter so frozen, it was useless Yesterday I had a Bailey's dessert. And I think they forgot to open the bottle, there was no suggestion of it at all. Highly disappointing

Excellent American themed vegan food. The flavours are awesome. Can highly recommend the Oyster Mushroom Wings and the Tailgate Stack. Love that we have this little gem on our doorstep.
