Great for breakfast. Nice sausages!

Went on Saturday evening to the Blue Anchor and the food was great and the service staff were friendly too. It was quite a quiet evening due to the hot weather and football but that meant that the atmosphere was very relaxed and we were not rushed to finish. Would recommend a visit.

We met some friends here for a light lunch. As usual everything was excellent. Excellent food, lovely staff and a very relaxed cosy atmosphere. Thank you.

Went for a Sunday roast, food was amazing. Service fantastic. The atmosphere was perfect, not too noisy not too quiet. Can’t wait to come back again!

My husband and I had a fantastic meal at The Blue Anchor last night. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and the presentation was lovely! The service was friendly. It was our first time and we can't wait to go again.

We love coming here breakfast. Always very friendly and food is always of a high standard and well presented. We have had to wait a little bit longer for drinks. But it's always worth waiting for.

Have eaten at the Blue Anchor a number of times throughout this year (2024) and never disappointed. Nice relaxed atmosphere, all staff are very friendly and attentive, good menu, fantastic food and drink and reasonably priced - highly recommend.

Lovely lunch, but, am feeling pricing is too high. I ordered the Buddha bowl, less ingredients than before, smaller portion and basically £17 for a medium sized bowl of salad. Drinks and cakes on a previous visit came in at £21.45 for 3 people. I have been a long-term fan of The Barn but feel the food is now over-priced and I will stop visiting

Came to Blue Anchor for a business lunch. Had not been for a meal there myself for a long time. All 4 of us enjoyed our meal and drinks. As was a lunch we only had the Main meal a pint and a coffee to finish with . Menu was good , providing ample choice . All meals were good sized portions, hot , presented well and delicious. Staff were attentive without being in your face . Will not leave it so long before returning again.

I wasn't expectinng great things due to some fairly average Trip Advisor reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised. There was an inventive menu, which was extensive. That's often a bad sign, but apart from a slightly mediocre crab pate with crostini - everything else (mackjerel pate, seabass, fish and chips, chocolate fanache and profiteroles) gets full marks from us. The staff were really obliging, and not in your face way. I asked for a blackcurrant and lemonade. They had run out of blackcurrant but actually went to the loacal shop to get some for me (unprompted by me). Lovely, low-key atmosphere in a beautiful 17th-century (?) inn. Next time we will venture into the garden. My tip would be to avoid sitting to the left of the entrance. We did and so were faced with the unappealing aspect of the Feering Hill traffic coming towards us. But generally a big thumbs up - one fo the best venues I've visted in north Essex

Was a little disappointed yesterday, we were told that the drinks would take a while, however what we hadn't bargained for was the hot breakfast for 1 person coming before drinks and the cakes for the other 2 people coming with the drinks. My friend had to start her breakfast whilst we sat there waiting for our cakes. Saying that as always food was delicious as normal and staff very professional
