We ate here for the first time yesterday as a treat for.my birthday. The food and service were sensational. We shared the beef cheek cottage pie, it was delicious. We just wished we lived closer as would definitely make this our local. Thank you for making my birthday a memorable one xox

Lovely lunch here Easter Saturday. All the food was delicious with little tweaks such as smoked mash that added to the meal. great atmosphere and service!

I recently had a Sunday birthday lunch with 14 of my friends, we had the most amazing time. The food was very good quality, small criticism, roast potato’s a bit hard, possibly frozen not fresh ?? And I really love my roast spuds so this affected my food / value for money ratings, hopefully they take note. The staff were very efficient, great service and very friendly. The old pub had a great atmosphere both down in the restaurant with its own bar and upstairs in the main bar. We were in no rush to leave and stayed until around 8 in the evening, I would recommend the venue for small groups / parties and will certainly be looking to book again,

The meal was lovely. I have one complaint the potatoes they were not fresh and were frozen which made them very hard, if the potatoes were cooked fresh the meal would of been 10/10

Great pub and fantastic food in the restaurant. Nice atmosphere to boot. Can’t really fault it.

First time visitor to the Hour Glass Inn. Friendly staff and great locally brewed ale. What more could you want? Well try the trio of meats roast. A bit pricey I thought but once in front of me worth every penny. The dessert was amazing too..! Will definitely go back.

What a great pub with excellent ales. My black pudding scotch egg was epic. The duo of duck tasty. Service by Giles was perfect. So glad we came.

Great night at the Hour Glass as always lovely food and good beers , Giles and the staff are always very welcoming and helpful. If you haven’t been to the Hour Glass yet you are missing out . Cheers John Griffiths

We had Sunday lunch for the family. Really enjoyed it and felt well looked after. Mains were hearty and tasty (the roast potatoes were the only aspect that was slightly disappointing). Desserts were restaurant quality. Service was excellent. Good value. Just a really nice pub.

We had the most wonderful experience at The Hourglass Pub on the evening of our wedding, Wednesday 4th March. There were 16 of us celebrating together, and the entire evening was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The staff were incredible — warm, attentive, and genuinely enthusiastic about helping us celebrate such a special day. The service was flawless all evening. Even with a group of 16, everything ran smoothly and we felt completely looked after. The food was phenomenal. Every dish that came out was beautifully prepared and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone at the table. It really added something special to our wedding evening. We had reserved a private room (which we paid a deposit for), and having that space to ourselves made the night feel even more personal and relaxed. The team were also wonderfully accommodating — when we ran a quiz for our guests, they kindly provided extra lights so everyone could see properly, which was such a thoughtful touch and really appreciated. Nothing felt like too much trouble for them, and their attention to detail helped make the evening feel truly memorable. Thank you to everyone at The Hourglass for helping make our wedding evening so special. We’ll always remember it and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for great food, fantastic service, and a welcoming atmosphere.
