Very friendly staff. Perfect place for a light bite and a drink in the lovely setting of the Quay at Exeter.
Bishop Blaize The – ExeterWe normally eat in the other Harry's Bar on Longbrooke St, but when we heard the owners had opened a second one we had to go and take a look. The atmosphere is very calm, there's spanish/jazz style music playing at a subtle volume, which works really well with the dim lighting and candles in the lounge. The bartender made sure we were looked after before being seated and the cocktails were made with a level of care and attention we'd never seen before. When we were seated, the waitresses and the manager were very obliging, and the food was excellent. We managed to get a table of two on a busy Thursday night, so we advise booking! All in all a wonderful place to eat, Exeter's best kept secret!
Harrys Grill Bar – ExeterExcellent setting and great carvery, loads of choice of veg (8 plus 3 types pots!), rest of menu was good as well, made it difficult to choose! Great desserts! Busy place but not too busy, staff very friendly Highly recommended!!
Nutwell Lodge The – ExeterAbsolutely lovely little gastropub, great food such as pork belly and wonderful pates to start. I go there regularly with my family because its quiet and friendly. There's a wide selection of great wines and excellent service with a sense of humour. *****
The Lazy Toad – ExeterFood was superb, nicely decorated and clean. Much better now with the new owners, tidy and real log fires. Definitely a MUST GO and EAT. Plenty of room for parking and friendly girls behind the bar and in the restaurant. Good selection of beer for the boys plus real ales.
The Lamb Inn – ExeterI recommend this restaurant because it a nice has a nice comfy atmosphere and the food is top class quality! If looking for an Indian restaurant in the town of Exmouth then please take my recommendation and go to the tandoori nights restaurant! PS: you get a free chocolate when you pay up at the end
Tandoori Nights – ExeterAwful food, the landlady Jane was a moody old hag, she had her family in on the day we visited what a bunch of hooligans, they were loud/abusive and left a trail of litter behind them, they got everything for free and we got nothing, how this pub makes a profit i dont know. Dont visit its awful go somewhere else, food was cold and tasteless spend you hard earned cash elsewhere
I visited Harry's a couple of months ago with a bunch of girlfriends and was disappointed with the food. I had over-priced chicken burger and fries, which was very plain and the portion was small. Tables were far too squashed together and staff rushed so service slow. It was a very busy Friday evening but I thought the atmosphere was more fast food place and lacked soul and atmosphere. Vicki
Harrys Restaurant – ExeterJust rang the famous Harry's to book a table and was basically told to sod off. I was informed that he was unable to take my booking because he was busy and he only answered the phone so it would stop ringing! As someone who has worked in the catering industry as well other service industry I am appalled that people can find this acceptable! A very bad first impression
Harrys Restaurant – ExeterGREAT FOOD ON EVERY VIST FOR THE LAST TWO YEARS STAFF VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL GREAT PLACE TO EAT AND HAVE A DRINK THANKYOU
Old Timers Wine Bar and Restaurant – Exeterwas eagerly awaiting my dinner at strada as it was a surprise for my girlfriends birthday. looks wise fantastic and the ambience was just what we were after. all our meals were full of flavour and were carefully presented. unfortunately i can't say too much for the service on this visit, as one of my friends ordered a martini rosso and was met by a blank expression. staff menu knowledge was not entirely there apart from desserts, we were comfort checked regularly which was comforting, i see potential and will more than likely return, better luck next time
Strada – ExeterBeautifully presented, delicious menu. Surroundings in keeping with the Georgian building but with a modern twist. Excellent service. Would recommend this restaurant to discerning diners who enjoy style and good food!
Olive Tree Restaurant – ExeterA truly great British pub, excellent food for the whole family, even the fussiest of friends, awesome choice of whiskies too, well worth a visit, haven't stayed in the bedrooms since they've been renovated but they look good too
Nobody Inn – ExeterSerious bad attitude from the landlady (won’t serve tap water). Money spent on doing the place up, but now looks like “The Land of Leather”. This place has totally lost its local charm. High prices for average food. Have heard the lamb burgers are good but at £4.50 they would want to be.
The Lamb Inn – ExeterDo a fantastic feast Sunday to Thursday...food excellent. Wouldn't eat in any other Chinese restaurant.
Bamboo The – ExeterFantastic food, lovely atmosphere and the waiting staff were were too bad the head chef had a bad attitude to his customers!
Blue Ball Inn – ExeterThe carvery is great and good value for money - but only go there if you are prepared to sit next to a screaming child. This place is particularly popular with young families - and even if the child screams for a full 45 mins, don't expect the management to do anything about it (ie politely ask the parent to temporarily remove the distressed child from the area for the sake of other diners - it simply wont happen).
Exeter Arms Toby Hotel – ExeterVery surprisingly the worst Chilli I have tasted - tried vegetarian and meat versions and neither of them very nice. My dinner guests enjoyed their different meals.
Mexican, The – ExeterSunday Menu: 2 courses, £31; 3 courses, £39.50.
