The Lamb Inn – Exeterwe went to this restaurant on a recommendation from some friends who had been and said that they had had a fabulous time, well ! 8 of us booked and turned up as planned, we had an absolutely brilliant night the place was busy but the staff were fab no panic yet always attentive. The Thai Green curry was to die for and all my friends said their food was great too, the only moan was that some of us had to wait a bit for our mains to come but they were worth waiting for ! fresh tasty and good value. If you want a truly good meal in a great environment but real honest authentic thai food this is the place !
Tiger Bills Bar Wok Grill – ExeterI attended this restaurant a while ago with my friend who says the Thai Food is some of the best she has tasted. I then visited more recently at lunchtime and we were literally the first customers in the place but the jacket potato I received was from the previous night - this was confirmed by the waitress. The noodle soup we had was also reheated from the night before. It's a shame because my previous visit was a success. So give it a go. You might get lucky.
Tiger Bills Bar Wok Grill – ExeterThis place is quite enchanting. The setting is wonderful. If you eat there as we did you can walk off all the superb food along the beautiful Teign. Can recommend it 100%. Go and try it then you can write your review too!
Fingle Bridge Inn – Exeterthe best pub there is in the world, everyone is so friendly and very welcoming. the best drinks i have had in a life time.
Poltimore Arms – ExeterWe had a wonderful lunch here before Christmas. Excellent home cooked food, good size portions and personal service. Good value. Good parking. Plan to go back there.
Talaton Inn, The – ExeterHad a lovely meal here, the staff were really good with us, The wine was excellent as was our food. Will definitely return it had a great atmosphere.
Strada – Exetercame here to try the new menu, you can choose as many starter and mains as you can eat for £12.50. But you have to be able to finish everything or they charge a fine. Great food, great bar area and wine list. The restaurant however is too open plan and lacks atmosphere, it could do with a few partitions dotted around to create some warmth. Will go back though. I think this is probably the best Chinese in Exeter, all the city centre ones are out of date and shabby.
Oriental City Restaurant and Lounge Bar – ExeterMatt, Lizzie and their very professional team recently catered for my daughter's wedding reception in Powderham Castle. They were quietly efficient and helpful and and provided us with wonderful food. We chose them following our experience of their delicious Sunday lunches and memorable suppers. They are 'THE BEST'. Kenton residents are so lucky to have this exceptional establishment in their village. You will need to book a table if you wish to eat there at a weekend.
Rodean – ExeterWent here last Saturday and a very good dinner, there is a new chef and the restaurant has been recently refurbished to a high modern standard but still in keeping with the pub. As well as the menu they had a good choice of specials. My wife had the haloumi kebabs and I had pheasant breast stuffed with black pudding sage, both were excellent. Service was quick and very pleasant.
Thorverton Arms – ExeterThis is the finest Indian Restaurant I have visited for a long time, small, friendly and very welcoming, a pleasure to dine here, the staff are excellent, and so is the food, the place to eat!
Real India – ExeterDear Sir after hearing some positive reports on the Blue Ball Inn at Sandygate and watching as good quality food was being served in a nice ambience, I decided to give it a try. Good luck, after phoning approximately 10 times, during opening hours and not receiving an answer, after waiting for minutes at a time, I decided to give up. Very poor service, an answerphone may have been helpful!!
Blue Ball Inn – ExeterThoroughly enjoyed the experience.Want to visit again soon.Made me feel at home.Food was plentiful and wholesome.
Black Horse Inn The – ExeterA little hidden gem with lovely food and a warm friendly atmosphere. Has a hidden walled garden which is ideal on a warm summers day
Rendezvous 10 Wine Bar – ExeterMy main course was frankly very poor. It wasn't even hot so I complained (first time ever). They replaced it with apologies and it was better but still not good. The rest of the meal was fine. To be fair they didn't charge us for my substandard main course and also threw in the wine as a freebie.
Bella Italia – Exeteri loved it especially the puds
Wagamama – ExeterA dozen of us ate a wide selection of meses - my companions seemed content enough but I thought the food was generally uninteresting, I wouldn't choose to eat any of it again; Lebanese beer was almost tasteless; surroundings were tatty; expensive for a selection of dull dishes that were all like starters - not a meal.
Al Farid – ExeterMy first visit there was totally by accident,it was quite busy so had to wait 10 mins to be shown to a bench, a bit tight space but I had the opportunity to see what others were eating, the seafood soup was very tasty, my daughter was so envious I let her have half of it, it came in a huge pot. The second time we had the chicken curry, it was really tasty too, cheesecake was a let down, will definitely go there again.
Wagamama – ExeterSunday Menu: 2 courses, £31; 3 courses, £39.50.
