My wife and I visited Zen for the first time last night (1st Jan '11). Superb decor. Superb staff. Superb food. A superb restaurant!
The Zen Restaurant – St. Annes-On-SeaI visited Buraq for the first time with my girlfriend on Boxing day. We both was delighted at the perfect attention to detail in the service and the food prepared was faultless. So we recommended it to our families and friends and returned with my girlfriends parents tonight. We were amazed at how much could change in a week. We ordered poppadoms the first week and they were waiting on the table for us. Tonight they never brought them yet they were on the bill at the end.
Buraq – KirkhamNice surroundings mean the focus is on showing the venue to potential weddings rather than serving restaurant visitors. Disappointing food & poor service. More like an over-priced carvery than a restaurant. Very slow service. 2 hours to wait for 2 courses. Greasy fried fish & gnocchi. No wine menu offered. Table not wiped between courses. Only white & brown bread offered
The Villa Country House Hotel – KirkhamHighly recommended, we had a staff party here for Christmas - 10 people. the food was superb, staff very friendly, very relaxed and the food just kept on coming. we will be returning xx
Mews Thai – Poulton-Le-FyldeThis is such a wonderful place we visited on the 23rd December and enjoyed good food and good service, they were doing a three course menu with lots of choices for £16.95 the food is so good. Well worth searching this place out.
Greens Bistro – St. Annes-On-SeaAmazing food, the best Italian restaurant I have been to in a long while and would certainly recommend, I had the sirloin of beef with peppercorn sauce which was mouthwatering and will definitely be having again. It is on the pricey side but the food was so good I didn't mind paying a bit more. Staff and owner really friendly, excellent service, fantastic restaurant, cannot praise the food enough.
Novello – LythamI cannot express my delight with Novello! The food was the best by far, the service extremely friendly and we all felt so comfortable all night! The whole feeling of the restaurant and staff was warm and inviting. Highly recommend Novello as the food was excellent!! Will be going on a regular basis!!
Novello – LythamI first visited the Cartford Inn in late October and since then i have been back no less than 7 times, the last being two weeks ago. I have never had such a good meal - i was very impressed. I would recommend the chicken liver parfais for starters - its unreal. I would go back time and time again without a second thought
Cartford Inn – Great EcclestonWe had the pleasure of eating at this restaurant this evening and absolutely loved it! The staff were lovely and the food is amazing!! I've sampled many Indian restaurants locally and this is my favorite by a mile! Delicious!! The food tasted so fresh and I can't wait to go back for more! I also really glad they do takeaway!
Moghul Tandoori Restaurant – St. Annes-On-SeaOur new favourite Indian restaurant in the Fylde. Good service in pleasant surroundings. Most importantly the food was very good. A bit greasy and oily perhaps, however that unfortunately seems to be a staple ingredient of Indian food made for the English. King Prawn Jalfrezi and Sag Aloo were tip top.
Buraq – KirkhamOne of the better Indian restaurants in the fylde. Flavoursome dishes, good service, nice atmosphere. I would eat here again.
Buraq – KirkhamI went to Saffron just before Christmas for my birthday night out and we had a lovely night. It was booked late but staff did everything they could to squeeze us in and we weren't disappointed. The waiters and managers were really helpful and attentive and were more than happy to recommend different dishes. Service was quick and efficient and the food was lovely. It is reasonably priced and in a good location within Poulton. I would definitely recommend, it's my favourite restaurant for miles.
Saffron – Poulton-Le-FyldeExcellent food, Excellent atmosphere, Excellent staff. Saffron is the place to eat in Poulton. We have recommended Saffron to people and family and friends when they come up from around the country always want an Indian from Saffron. Highly Recommended to both the inexperienced curry eater, and the experienced. You fancy something with a little more heat the staff will endeavour to please.
Saffron – Poulton-Le-FyldeI was part of a party attending a Christmas get together at the villa but due to snow icy roads and freezing fog we cancelled. However we had paid a £10 per head deposit and was told this was not refundable fair enough but wishing to rebook in January we asked if our deposits could be used the answer was no. We feel this is short sited as the hotel would have had our booking ,so we will be looking to book another restaurant .
The Villa Country House Hotel – Kirkhammy boyfriend took me to The Zen for our 3rd anniversary and the food was delicious, staff were welcoming and very friendly and to make the night even more special he proposed in there that night!!!! we will definitely go back again.
The Zen Restaurant – St. Annes-On-SeaBeen here a number of times - Last time I went thought the standard had become distinctly average- although not much competition in Lytham Zest was freezing no heating whatsoever - and noone had cleared ice at front -it was treacherous. Ordered scrambled eggs on bagel with bacon. Arrived without bacon so dish taken back for first time. No real problem Arrived back - scrambled eggs were solid -they were described on menu as fluffy. Dont know if they were microwaved or bought in mix but they were inedible. Sent back for second time came back shredded and with a raw bagel and the bacon i had sent back but strangely warmer than before. Should have sent back again -couldn't be bothered but worst breakfast I have eaten and I would have preferred to have gone to a greasy spoon but wouldn't have ended up with small change from £20.00 Overall front of house staff were pleasant but the food is getting worse -how anyone could have let the food past that pass defies belief. Zest is in the best location in Lytham and has a captive audience who dont really want that much: but the quality is poor and I wouldnt recommend Zest on this performance -The kitchen needs to do alot better
Zest Food & Wine Bar – LythamWe have visited the shard riverside inn a few times since we moved into the area, and each time has been a pleasure, the food and its service is first class, I am inclined to agree though that the bar service is a little surly, could do with someone behind there who isn't afraid to smile.
Shard Riverside Inn – Poulton-Le-FyldeHave been going here on and off since it opened. Whenever we try somewhere else we always regret it. Well worth a visit
