Reviews in Fylde Coast and Blackpool

We came for a day trip from Isle of Man to Fleetwood, and spent day visiting relatives in NW. We came back to Fleetwood for dinner, not sure what to expect. That the Trafalgar is clearly the best restaurant in Fleetwood is an understatement, it's fish offering (from the specials board) is up there with the best (in my view the best is Joe Forte's in Vancouver). The price was very reasonable, and with an interesting variety of wine. My wife will be telling tales of the home made potted shrimps for a long time. Don't be put off by the fact it is in Fleetwood - it's worth a trip just to eat there.

We have lived locally for 30 years. Knott-end fish and chip shop is now the best it has ever been. The fish is superb and chips excellent. They always have a special which is good value. Cannot be faulted. Although busy the owner always has a chat.

I have had take out from this chip shop before and it was lovely so decided to have dinner there. The first time we tried the fish was Ok, if a little tasteless but the chips were basically just bits. Undaunted we tried again last evening. We ordered a large special and a small special. The chips were OK this time. definitely LOTS of them, maybe a lot too much. However, the fish batter was overcooked and greasy. Saw one being sent back to the kitchen by other diners. At least the large version actually had some fish in though. Also had asked for an extra of curry sauce which came, but meant that the peas were missed off. When I tried to eat the small fish it was basically all greasy batter. At the end of the meal the waitress, who had been good up to that point, asked if everything was OK with the meal. I explained about the fish. She just said 'oh right' and took the plates away without another mention. The bill came to £15 for the two meals, which had the food been better would gave been good value but I'm afraid based on the food this evening and last time we went it was a major disappointment. I'd say to the management If you don't want to know how the food was don't ask but don't ignore when a customer tells you it wasn't good.

I got as takeaway from here on Wednesday night and was so impressed with the food. Everything was excellent, Will deffintley be eating here again soon, possibly sat in the restaurant next time.

I would never go again. Rude, arrogant and unhygienic. The food was average I cannot believe the previous reviewer was real. I have read 3 other reviews now and they all concur with mine.

Beautiful authentic decor, as well as authentic uniforms. Our meal was superb and hot and very good value for money. I have recommended this to family and friends and we will be returning on a regular basis. Keep up the good work Zen

We visited on a Wednesday night for the £9.95 four course offer. Excellent value for money. The service was courteous and always with a friendly smile. Food was delicious washed down with King Cobra and Kingfisher beer. We will go back again very soon.

Me and my best mate, along with our children, visited Norbreck Chippy and it was the best chips we have had in ages. The staff were brilliant and so friendly. They were great with the kids, even tho they were noisy and indecisive and they even got lollipops! I had scampi, my friend had chicken tikka bites and the kids had homemade fish cakes and sausage, all were really enjoyed. The excellent friendly service along with the great food has to be highly shouted about and worth a visit :)

Not having been to the Thai Mews before i was blown away last Friday when, accompanied by my wife i had the best Thai meal ever. We were seated upstairs and were immediately impressed by the staff and surroundings. The food however was the star of the show. We shared a combination platter to start which was a meal in itself. I must make special mention of the Thai dumplings,(Kanom Jeeb) I'd never tried these before but they will be top of the list next time, AMAZING. For main course my wife had the Red Curry while i enjoyed the mixed seafood with glass noodles (Pat Woon Sen). We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and can't wait to return. Top marks, keep up the good work.

I would not recommend this establishment. The food was a disgrace, the owner obnoxious, although the staff helpful.The food was overpriced rubbish and I would not eat there again not even if it was free.

Sunday night out , decided on a meal in poulton, my wifes choice not mine but she got it right again, food excellent and service by the two young ladies fabulous, both where pleasant and professional beyond there years, close call between the food and the service, can only advise you go and decide for yourself!

had a very enjoyable evening at go greek where we were served fresh delicious food which was at a very good price. my daughter chose to eat pork gyros and i have kleftiko, both which were delightful. the owners and their son were very friendly and eager to please. remember to ask for the specials which on our chosen day were swordfish and seabass. yum!

We had the Sunday carvery today at £8.95 per person. The staff were helpful and friendly, the vegetables were delicious. The portions of carvery meat were far from generous and I wouldn't recommend the crackling unless your teeth are made of steel! Potatoes selection quite disappointing too, roasties a bit soggy, lumpy mash or boring old boiled. Luckily the giant yorkshires and gravy were yummy. If we go again we'd opt for a day other than Sunday when it's a bit cheaper. Overall only a 6 out of 10 from us.

At a loose end and with a distinct lack of quality about in Blackpool & The Fylde at the moment, we decided to give Constantine's restaurant a try based on some recent reviews on Sugarvine. There were 4 of us, my partner and I and my folks, we have varying tastes in dining with my folks enjoying the traditional were as my partner and I being open to pretty much anything!! The menu at Constantine's is quite a traditional mixture between Italian/French and English with the starters being fairly standard fayre of soup, mushrooms, pate and bruschetta but with some other great things thrown in for good measure such as moules and risotto both crayfish and wild mushroom. The main courses are quite similar in terms of style, steak, pasta etc with some really nice other items too. We opted for 3 lots of pate and minestrone soup; the pate was home made and served with warm crusty bread and a fantastic onion chutney and a substantial side salad which was very well dressed. The pate was chicken liver and although not as course as I usually like was nonetheless excellent, the best I have had for a long time!! My Dad being somewhat of an expert on minestrone soup, highly rated his serving describing it as very tasty and well made along with being "red hot"! Main course was seafood pizza, mixed grill, rib eye steak and chicken stroganoff. All four were truly superb, my mixed grill was huge consisting of steak, gammon a whole chicken breast, black pudding, egg and one of the best Cumberland sausages I have ever had. My fellow diners were similarly delighted with their meals. The chicken stroganoff was very well made with the correct amount of mustard. The steak was cooked very well and served with large homemade chips and lots of them! The pizza was excellent with prawns, muscles and squid instead of the usual tuna fish on light homemade pizza dough. The portions were huge and none of us were able to finish although they were happy to give us a doggy bag! two of us had desert, I had cheescake whilst my dad had tiramisu, both of which were homemade. My cheesecake was very good although a little heavy, it would have been better as a baked version. The tiramisu was similarly heavy, tiramisu is best when it is light, nevertheless it was very very good and I would recommend both. The coffee machine was broken so unfortunately there was no espresso so we skipped on the coffee. We had two rounds of drinks and a bottle of wine. I have to say that if constantine's keeps it up, there is a new gem in Blackpool. The prices were very very reasonable and the food was the best I have had on the Fylde for at least a couple of years. Service was great and the atmosphere was warm and friendly. Personally, I like to have a drink at the bar first; we were shown straight to our table. I'd like to see more diverse specials because clearly the chef is up to it. Don't let these couple of points put you off though, please give this place a try, great places to eat around Blackpool are few and far between and it is important places like Constantine's are well supported....... Keep up the good work guys, don't let the portion size and food quality go down the busier you get like lots of other restaurants in Blackpool that start off so well!!! Highly recommended!

Visited the Jade Delight after searching on the Internet. The food was great and the staff were very attentive. Would certainly visit again next time in Blackpool

I recently had my 50th birthday meal at Constantine's - The staff made me feel very welcome & made it a great party atmosphere - Definitely a night to remember - Top notch food, prices & the staff are fantastic.

I've been the litten tree about 3-4 times and the atmosphere is great and the service is great to and the staff are so nice and attend to are needs and they were great with are children and the food is great to, I've been to places where the staff aren't so polite to there customers, and thinking of coming on my hen nite on saturday nite

As a Yorkshireman now resident in the Red Rose county and a lifetime connoisseur of fish and chips, only one true comment, " SIMPLY THE BEST "
