Friendly service and reasonably good Indian food
East n Spice – GarstangMy wife and I visited on 29/09/09 and had two courses each. We both started with a skewer of king prawns, scallops and pineapple with a chilli jam - it was excellent, all cooked to perfection and presented very well indeed. Full marks. My wife then had the Fleetwood Fish Platter which she thoroughly enjoyed, it was a large serving, too large for her. I had the spicy lamb kebabs with a tagine of Moroccan vegetables and cous cous - We truly could not fault the food or presentation. An excellent meal in pleasant surroundings.
Cartford Inn – Great EcclestonWorking away from home is hard, however finding gems like the Curry Queen definitely help. The food is exceptional - the Shahe Tokra Chicken being one of the best Indian starters I have ever tasted. Whilst the staff are excellent, attentive and friendly but never overbearing. After a night in the Curry Queen I often hope that I can work away from home a little bit more.
Curry Queen – BisphamWe called in at Taylors chippy after going round the lights, and they were delicious , perfect amount, lovely fresh fish, great spicy curry sauce, friendly staff, must go again soon, thanks
Taylors Fish And Chips – Blackpoolvery good food and the service was excellent .
Bosco – LythamThe latest Lytham venture is a success! We went there on Friday and place was full. It had a really warm and welcoming atmosphere that evening. In the day I want to sit in the window seat that looks over the square and down the main drag. Love the ceiling lighting in Bosco, very Big Brother (Orwell not C4). The menu is mainly Italian and I guess the style is Pizza Express. I had a Rustica Pizza which was served on a wooden platter and was excellent. My dining companions also enjoyed their meals. Prices were reasonable and I will go back in the daytime next time!
Bosco – Lythamwe visited the norbreck hotel the food in there was awful however just around the back was the new norbreck restaurant. we went 5 nights to eat it was the best fish and chips we have ever had. Its a must for anyone.
New Norbreck Fish and Chips – Thornton-CleveleysI went here on Wednesday night with a couple of friends and had the most amazing meal, the food is just to die for i will definitely be returning soon.
Twelve – Thornton-CleveleysTeamed with good background music, great food and enthusiastic staff, Horns Inn offers a relaxed atmosphere and is therefore a pub which I find my family and I often return to. They offer a wide variety of food including a daily specials board. I would definitely recommend it.
Horns Inn – GarstangWe had a take away from Suda, they got the orders wrong and ended up with 2 wrong dishes and as we live too far out to return decided to try the food anyway. We found it bland uninteresting and as far from Thai food we'd ever tasted. It was our first time and will not be going again.
Suda Thai Cuisine – Poulton-Le-FyldeNot recommended We (6) recently dined at Ego. The food was tasteless, dry, looked unappealing, the waitress very clearly very inexperienced, service woefully slow (we waited at least 20 minutes for our drinks at the table and even then did not get the requested jug of water) and drinks ridiculously over-priced. The total bill came to £184.00, the food comprising only of 5 starters and 6 mains (max price £9.00)!!!!! I was shocked and disappointed (as this was a surprise birthday treat for my partner) and will not recommend on this experience. Sorry.
Ego Mediterranean Restaurant – LythamWent to a party today where Rowleys provided the catering. We were very impressed. The food was simple but well prepared and obviously used good ingredients. I think I will use them for my party.
Rowley’s Catering – St. Annes-On-SeaThis was our first visit and found it excellent value for money having the £9.50 buffet. The welcome and service we received very good and genuine. The only point I would raise is that perhaps on arrival when seated in the waiting area and informing the host of the intent to have the buffet, is the host should ask if this was our first time and present us with the buffet menu (which we only saw on departure). Now we know the 'score' we will be back!
Buraq – KirkhamTop quality ruby house with very attentive service. A good place to eat in peace without the plonkers of lytham larging it about the place.
Red Fort – LythamRe : Wickets comments. Specials in every uk restaurant can sell out if its a "high demand day". The price for fish chips peas with bread & butter is £ 5.65 = £11.30 NOT £13 ! , we separate items for customer choice ie some people dont want chips or peas . We feel we give excellent value considering you are seated in a restaurant with waiter service and all the overheads that go with it . We suggest that wickets should visit a fylde gastro pub where the above would be around £15 ! The Granada Fish Bar
Granada Fish Bar and Takeaway – Fleetwood6th September 09, Sunday cold wet and windy, called in for dinner, good choice. Food lovely, great selection, service efficient, prices excellent, will return again. Janice
Jade Delight Oriental Buffet Restaurant – BlackpoolFirst time I had tried this restaurant and it will NOT be the last. Lovely place, nice atmosphere even although we were the only 2 customers on a rather dreary Tuesday night, we received a nice warm welcome. Food excellent, great steak, service very friendly and not overly priced for the centre of town. Loved it!! Janice
La Fontana – BlackpoolI have eaten here a few times and its been ok but I had a meal here on Sunday and I was disappointed really. We were given dirty cutlery that was clearly filthy; in fact I don’t think they had even been washed! I am quite funny with cleanliness and tried my best not to let it put me off my food but to be fair it did do. When the food arrived it looked nice enough but tasted bland and greasy, we had the mushroom, black pudding and chicken to start and then for the mains we had smothered chicken that was passable, sausage and mash (my dish) that just tasted cheap and the gravy tasted like oxo cubes….I didn’t eat much of it so that the dog was happy getting my left overs, and finally my mum had the seafood platter which she really enjoyed especially the roll mop herrings. Like I said the food is usually good here so maybe you were just having an off day but giving filthy cutlery out is just not acceptable…not sure if I will be coming here again which is a shame because this really is a lovely venue and the wines are great!
