Leeraj Indian Cuisine – BlackpoolThe meal in question was the Cumberland Sausage dish: the sausages were admittedly substantial but had that evident unyielding pre-cooked, subsequently microwaved consistency. The gravy had a good amount of onion but it was raw. The mash was OK, having a couple of lumps in it at least indicating that it was real potato. The dish arrived without the advertised vegetables and when I enquired, a dish chiefly consisting of badly microwaved broccoli was presented. In the time it took to serve the meal, the whole lot could have been cooked from fresh.
Horns Inn – Garstangi have only been to mamas a once before and had really good service, so my friends and i was all looking forward to a nice pleasant meal the food we all really enjoyed, but the minute we put our dessert spoons down we were told to leave the table for other customers and told we had 1 minute to finish our drinks and leave would of been understandable if we had behaved in a wrong manor but this was not the case. never have i been out for meal with friends and family and been treated this way especially by the manager just because he was having a busy night. so for this reason i would not recommend this venue.
San Marcos – BlackpoolPipers has not yet failed to please having now visited on a number of occasions; evening meal, sunday lunch and midweek lunch. The quality and preparation of the ingredients is reflected in the taste - the beef as though it has just wandered down from the bowland fells and the accompanying dressings enhancing rather than overcoming the true flavour of the meal. This is the only restaurant where my husband has repeatedly ordered the house red in favour of some of the superb named wines. Whereas for myself I have found that Pipers is more than happy to provide tap water rather than expecting you to purchase bottled water as in some restaurants. The fresh, warm bread rolls are not the only endearing touch to this delightful restaurant. From my elderly mum who maintains tradition with linen napkins and ham hock, down to my teenage daughter and her friends who enjoy a slightly more contemprorary feel to both the ambience and menu, Pipers doesn't disapoint. For the ladies who, like me, like to lunch I can't provide a recommendation high enough.
Pipers – Garstanggreat very happy however medium kebabs are small !!!!
Pars – Blackpooleaten many a time, food, service and atmosphere always excellent, best restaurant in and around Preston and the Fylde.
The last time I ate from the bar menu here it was a Beefeater and was excellent. Now it's changed to a Harvester the menu has decreased in choice and reduced in price but the portion size remains as good value for money. Go before 6pm and the prices on a large selection are even cheaper. One thing very much lacking is the choice of drinks for children. We have 3yr old twins and were offered only fruit squash in glasses - any parent will tell any landlord the virtues of fruitshoot type drinks - so if you have a three year old who can't yet handle a half pint glass then maybe take your own drinking bottle/cup. Service was excellent and can not be faulted. The Queensway has a brilliant reputation based on customer care and the management team certainly carries that on. If you want good food for a reasonable price then you won't go wrong.
We were only here in Blackpool for a family weekend, and decided to go into the King Edwards just for one drink before going back to our B&B, and ended up staying for the whole evening! We went on a Friday night, and the new owners had live entertainment on. Leanne Fury was singing there, a comedian half time, and then Leanne Fury with another singer Jimmy Love at the end of the night, the atmosphere was great, the drinks were a good price, and they did food right through the evening, so yeah great place, and next time were in Blackpool, we will definitely make a point of going back there!!
King Edward VII – BlackpoolIT WAS BLOODY BRILLIANT!
Granada Fish Bar and Takeaway – FleetwoodWe used to live locally and this used to be our very vibrant local. We went back in a couple of months ago whilst visiting friends in the area to see what the new Cartford was like. The food was ok as was the service. We didn't like the decor but that is personal taste. What did surprise us was to find that all the fine ales have disappeared to be replaced by noctious nitrofizz. We've learnt from our friends that the Cartford has been abandoned by many locals for this reason. We therefore find it very odd that the owner of the Hart brewery has written a review on here (29/6) stating that his ales are being served at the bar. We went in on 2nd July and they were definitely not! Perhaps the next visitor could clarify this. Maybe the hand pumps were installed after our visit? Summary - ok for food (As was the old place) but if you used to come here for beer or atmosphere then go to Gt Ecc or Poulton instead.
Cartford Inn – Great EcclestonA very nice & clean Hotel and real joy next to all that Blackpool has to offer. The staff are very pleasant & helpful. We would always return to this hotel when ever we are in the North West.
The Villa Country House Hotel – Kirkhamthis is a friendly clean well run village pub which i would recommend to anyone driving through the village of hambleton, it is situated on the left as you drive through the village, with a very large car park to the rear, they also do a excellent Sunday lunch but don't arrive at peak times as it gets very busy custom from locals and passing trade, better to arrive just after lunch, as they never seem to run out of food. My rating is 4star +
Shovels Inn – Poulton-Le-FyldeWe love this place and have had many a good night out but was shocked to find that they add ten percent to your bill if it is a bank holiday!!! They dont tell you when you go in that its more for the privilege of wanting to eat on a bank holiday and its not mentioned on the menu or by any signs up. Its really put us off the place! We felt like holidaymakers being ripped off! Such a shame, its spoilt it for us
West Coast Rock Cafe – BlackpoolJade Delight is a hidden gem in the most unlikely place in Blackpool. Having eaten at most of the best restaurants in the North West, I found the food fantastic, and the service from the staff to be unbeatable. Because of this we returned for a special occasion meal, and were presented with an amazing special starter of seafood and fruit all carved and displayed to perfection, better than any hotel or cruise buffet we have seen around the world, and of course, it was so fresh and tasty. The meal to follow was also outstanding,(try something different from the menu, other than your usual Chinese meal). Would recommend anyone to ignore the location and step inside to be amazed by the quality of the food and professionalism of the staff.
Jade Delight Oriental Buffet Restaurant – BlackpoolSUPERB! After trying many local Chinese takeaways/restaurants, I found most to be mediocre. A friend recommended this place she's been visiting for ages - I’ve been a regular ever since!
Paramount Chinese Restaurant – BlackpoolHad an excellent meal at The Cartford. We really liked the refurbishment that the new owners have done, contemporary but still rustic. Go and see for yourselves!
Cartford Inn – Great EcclestonCant say anymore on this restaurant but as always everything was perfect Wednesday night. Thanks Alex and the gang for a lovely evening.Still no Budweiser though boooooooo
Pulcinella – Thornton-CleveleysExcellent Italian! Would recommend! Was a Sat night when we went so as we hadn’t booked we had a short wait. Staff were very good and the food was lovely. Not bad prices either!
