Tavern at the Mill – Thornton-CleveleysWe went for a meal last night - SUPERB!!!!! The food was lovely (we had scallops & seared beef, chicken ceasar salad, suckling pig) and although not a huge menu, it was difficult to choose from such a great selection!!! By the time we'd had starter and main course, we only had room left for coffee, but the sweet menu looked very nice too. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the service was just right - not too slow, or being rushed. We cant wait to go again, and would definitely recommend Kwizeen to anyone!!!!!
Kwizeen Bistro – BlackpoolVisited the farmhouse for the first time tonight,(we are local so don't know why we haven't been before!) The setting was beautiful, the food was glorious, the staff were lovely, and, I can not believe the quality of the house Shiraz! Will most definitely be returning!!!!!
Rigbys Farmhouse Restaurant – FreckletonI don't know what all the fuss is about with China Red. It is clearly only aimed at getting big parties of people in who get a bit too drunk at the weekend. The food quality is not very consistent I have been around a dozen times and it is never the same. Also the service slips when it gets busier. When compared with other venues nearby I always feel let-down by the staff. And my worst gripe is the rice - it's all clumpy and at times cold. There are plenty of other restaurants to try in Poulton so if you are looking for quality then try elsewhere.
China Red – Poulton-Le-FyldeWent for dinner with my family the other week and had a great time. The waiters are fantastic! They are very friendly and very charming, and make a great change from the moody waiters you see in most restaurants. The atmosphere is really good too, and although it isn't the biggest restaurant in the area, it is definitely the best. Food was good too, they cook pizzas just the way I like them - thin and cripsy. I'll be going back definitely recommend.
La Piazza 2 – BisphamThis is a great little takeaway near Poulton. I've been going for years! The best thing on the menu is the Ribs with Salt & Pepper with Garlic..I don't know where they get them from but they are soo meaty. Well done Furamar keep up the good work.
Furamar, The – BlackpoolWent to the Ghurka for the first time after reading reviews on this website. This is a brilliant little restaurant and it really stood out as something different for the area. The buffet is eat all you can and has a great selection of Chinese, Indian, Oriental and there's also loads of starters too. Go there!
Gurkha Hotel, Restaurant and Bar – BlackpoolWent to the Outside Inn Blackpool for a meal last Friday lunchtime (30th May 2008) We have just moved into an office in the Business Park next to the pub, and this was going to be a regular lunchtime dining venue for us...not anymore!! To start with service was slow, and even though it is pretty obvious that most people in there were office workers on a lunch 'hour'....there seemed no hurry to get your order, or bring out your food and drinks. But the main problem was that I ordered a vegetarian lasagne off the specials board, when this finally arrived, about half an hour after ordering, I has horrified to discover it was a meat lasagne. After pointing this to the waitress, she offered me another veggie lasagne. I declined this offer as I was due back in work and not feeling hungry anymore, but she insisted it "will only take 2 minutes to heat up." Funny that as the original order took half an hour to come out. I really wasn't hungry anymore but in the end I agreed to get a quick salad. Everyone else finished their meal and my salad still hadn't arrived 15 minutes later, and I was feeling ill so I went out to get some fresh air. A couple of minutes later one of my group came out and told me not to bother going back in as the waitress just bought me out a Chicken salad!! Fair enough I can understand the mix up with the lasagne was a genuine mistake, but then to give a chicken salad to a veggie was an insult to me and deeply offensive to me and my beliefs. To make matters even worse when the rest of my group tried to settle the bill they were given a discount of a couple of pounds only. Only after some negotiation did they get a £5 reduction on the total bill and no real apology. Even though I was the only veggie in the group, everyone who I was with was shocked about the customer service we received and the lack of knowledge from restaurant staff about my vegetarian dietary requirements. Which is something everyone working in the catering trade should be aware of.
Plum Tree Farm – BlackpoolWith excellent views and fabulous local produce all home produced on the premises. What more can one ask for? Well great gardens, walks rare breed animals to get up close to this place has something for everyone. Their cake and scones are just fab.
Cobble Hey Farm and Gardens – Garstangme and my friend went here on friday 30th may, we weren't sure what to expect but when we walked in we were very surprised that the interior design was so modern and attractive. we were sat in the waiting area and given the main menu and the special menu to be told that there were no mussels available which was a bit of a let down as this would have been our first choice. i had stuffed mushrooms to start and my friend charlie had goats cheese, the starters were cooked and presented to a very high standard and we were very pleased. we then moved on to our main course and we both ordered a pizza, i don't like spicy food and made the mistake of getting pepperoni on mine, but my friend enjoyed hers and nearly ate it all!!! thanks all for a great meal we will be back soon.
Pizza and Pasta – Thornton-CleveleysSuperb food and atmosphere! My girlfriend and I have been here a few times now and we come away every time thinking the food has got even better! Really friendly staff and cosy place - definitely recommended! :)
Banthai – St. Annes-On-SeaWe would highly recommend the Trafalgar restaurant, my wife and i went for the first time on 30th May 2008. the food was absolutely Delicious the service was superb the whole evening was a night to remember. we had the paella
Trafalgar Restaurant – FleetwoodWhat a pleasant dining experience. I felt that the service was impecible and a smile goes a long way.
Lee Garden – Thornton-Cleveleysthis takeaway is one of the best. food is always excellent mixed meat curry and shredded crispy beef are our favorites with salt and pepper ribs yum yum. try it out you will not be disappointed. phone your order in as it mainly very busy
East Ocean Chinese Takeaway – KirkhamMy husband and I love this lovely little restaurant, best thing that happened to Highfield Road. We regularly go there and would recommend it to anyone. The Tournados Rossini is great (we nearly always have that). Excellent value for money - both the wine and the food.
San Marcos – Blackpoolfound this little cafe on last day of our holiday after traipsing round all week looking for a decent meal. enjoyed lunch so much we returned that evening for dinner. Food excellent, prices really reasonable and staff really friendly. We will definitely be returning as we have family in the area.
Tiggy Winkles Of Bond Street – BlackpoolGreat Cantonese restaurant. Slightly expensive but well worth it. Don't go without having Dim Sum for your starter, it is out of this world! Perfect for a big table of friends to have great food and a good laugh! 10/10
Lou-Shang Cantonese Restaurant – St. Annes-On-SeaTypical of the way these big chains are taking over the great British pub. The same thing is happening to cafes with brands like Costa Coffee and Cafe Nero wiping the floor with the small businessman. The food here is not very good, they are now a two-for-one on the food so while you are saving money on your meal they are stinging you with the price of the ale. Do not order a short drink and unless you have your cheque book do not order a double! It is nearly three quid for a pint aswell. And the bastards got rid of the pool table too. I aint happy.
