Dom’s Italian – Poulton-Le-FyldeWe dined at Twelve last night for the first time. There were 6 of us, and we had mixed feelings about it. All the starters, the Red Deer, and the Beef were thoroughly enjoyed. The Partridge was not great - at most there were 3 mouthfuls of meat on the plate, with the legs having literally no meat on them whatsoever. Less to do with it being a small bird and more to do with it not being a great cut of meat, although to be fair the meat that was there was delicious. The veg was undercooked rather then al dente. The chips were nice, and all the puddings were nice. I really enjoyed the chocolate brownie. The service was not great. We asked for a jug of water three times and it never appeared. We were tucked away in a far corner of the balcony and forgotten about. When I complained about my main course the waiter was not interested, did not apologise, and charged me the full £22 for it. On a positive note, they were very accommodating when we asked for slight changes, for example to the mash, mixing the a la carte menu with the Christmas menu etc. The bill came to a hefty £100 per couple (admittedly with wine) and I was starving hungry when we left. Given the tremendous reputation Twelve has, I have to say I was rather disappointed.
Twelve – Thornton-CleveleysI came to Taylors over the weekend, i thought it was great the best fish and chips in Blackpool!!
Taylors Fish And Chips – BlackpoolWe took 22 people for a Christmas celebration. The food was acceptable, although not a gourmet experience, however at the price of £17-50 per head very acceptable. We were seated in the private room upstairs which seemed to cause problems with the speed of service. By the time the vegetables for the main course had arrived many peoples food was cold. Drinks service for the room was poor. We ordered two glasses of red and a pint of lager - one glass of red and the lager arrived - ten minutes later the other glass of red had not arrived. On going to the bar to ask where it was I was greeted by the Chef/Patron Mr Tolley who was in his whites lounging at the bar. On stating that the bar service was poor he told me, 'we're doing our best'. When I told him that his best was obviously not good enough he suggested that I 'shove it, sideways'. I would find it impossible to recommend this restaurant to anyone, and would suggest to Mr Tolley that he should take a course in 'Customer Care' at the first opportunity.
even though i did enjoy my choice of meal i found it most expensive compared to tesco cafe. i did not enjoy my drinks as the service was poor. i am not taking my wife there again.
High Cross – Poulton-Le-Fyldei went with 3 friends on a Tuesday night for a works meal and i enjoyed my visit to this restaurant ....the food was great and the atmosphere of the place felt good. the service of the two young waiters was grand !-it was nice to see people enjoying there job ! - this place was top-notch !
Thai by Night – Poulton-Le-FyldeI visited The Tavern last weekend following its desperately needed refurbishment and I was extremely impressed. It is now a light, airy comfortable establishment and the carvery (Sunday only) was fantastic - both to eat and on the pocket at £6.95. I read the main menu and this did look a little more pricey - however, no more so than other pubs in the area. The service was also excellent - very friendly, efficient, helpful staff. I really enjoyed my visit to the Tavern and will be going again soon.
Tavern at the Mill – Thornton-CleveleysI had another excellent meal here recently. This place is dead consistent, really good food, local produce, simple, cooked well. My girlfriend and I love it here, we often drag other people along with us too! The lamb rump is often on the specials and it is fabulous. In fact, the whole menu is brimming with mouth-watering dishes. Service is really good, not what you expect in a pub at all, the waiting staff and bar staff are all real customer service professionals, they are always very polite, helpful and most of all, discreet. The setting is also very romantic - rustic and cosy. And if you don't live in Wrea Green, then the journey over there always builds the anticipation too. Can't believe they haven't got their menus on Sugarvine!
Grapes – KirkhamI took my girlfriend to this hotel for our 6th anniversary. Although the place is expensive its worth the money. The outside does not do it justice but upon entering you can see what all the fuss is about. The food was really nice and the staff were very friendly. The best thing for me was our room, awesome!
No 1 – Blackpooli know i was served garbage...never go back again rather drive to blackpool 30plus miles to get asian food.i can't believe they get away with serving crappy food...
Wesby Chinese TakeAway – Knott End-On-Seaordered a takeaway delivery. the food when it arrived was burnt and overdone, still absolutely dripping in grease. i would never recommend this place to anyone!!
Lee Garden – Thornton-CleveleysExcellent venue set in the Forest of Bowland with spectacular views. All food is locally sourced and prepared on site. The cakes are Fab!!!!
Cobble Hey Farm and Gardens – Garstangfound this restaurant to be very very tasty and good value for money!
Paramount Chinese Restaurant – BlackpoolI travel 88 miles to eat here; Fair Trade foods freshly cooked to order For breakfast one gets sausages & bacon dry cured so its' not boiled when cooking! A family run cafe/restaurant where service is as good as the food and the prices are modest. Home cooked pies, roasts and real coffee make this an essential part of any visit to Garstang
The Coffee Pot – GarstangThe best fish and chips I have had in years. I have been several times this year and would recommend it to anyone. On one visit this Summer Fred Talbot, ITV'S weatherman was in there eating fish and chips. Its definitely worth a visit. The milky coffee is also the best around. Its open throughout the Winter!
Ferry Cafe, The – FleetwoodWe try to get to the Bilash at least once a fortnight. We have been to Indian restaurants all over the country and we can honestly say the Bilash is one of the best. The portions are very generous and good value for money. Check out the Chicken Shashlick, highly recommended.
Bilash Balti – St. Annes-On-SeaI have eaten at Margherita's several times over the years and can honestly say i have never had a bad meal there & the service is always the best. I often go for the early bird too, which is just as high quality - much better than the food/service you ever get at Tiggi's!
Margherita – St. Annes-On-SeaThe Queens Arms was recently taken over by Stephen Mitchell who has made much needed changes including re decorating, Plasma Screens, Heated smoking areas and a whole new catering kitchen with great "pub grub" style menu which has a good traditional feel. The price and service is great and they will try to meet your needs IE if its not on the menu but they can make it, they will!. They do great traditional home made Sunday lunch which is all freshly home made and available as a roast barm! so why not pop in to try it out its great atmosphere, good food, Company.... Enjoy!!!
