My friend and I went here for food and a drink recently. We decided to have two steaks as they were on offer at £21 for the two. We ordered half a pint of Thatchers cider and a small glass of Malbec wine. The food was served fairly quickly but my friends steak was over done. So was mine but I wasn't that concerned. She complained about her steak and another one was brought which was also over done. She left hers. When I went to pay, the barman said he wouldn't charge for the one steak and gave me the bill. I paid but on returning home I noticed I had been charged £24.20p, which meant the drinks were over £10. Very unimpressed with the food and the price.

Very impressed by the transformation of the fabric of the building making it a delightful place to eat. Staff lovely and so polite and lively. Food just as expected and house wine good value. Nicely brought to the table with chef holding tray and waitress taking it off and both dishes together and hot!Altogether an excellent first meal and will try lunch soon:Good luck to all concerned and I hope Cote will be a great success - certainly the company has worked at making it a great eating experience.Very tasteful loos bar being upstairs.

This pub was down in the doldrums for a long time it has raised its game and is deservedly much more popular than before but it should keep its eye on the ball. I recently ordered the vegetarian cannelloni. In the past I have been offered an unnecessary amount of potatoes plus an acceptable amount of vegetables to accompany my meal but on the most recent visit I was offered an over large portion of cannelloni with no potatoes, vegetables or salad. Hence no contrast of texture or flavour to the meal so not a pleasing experience. Needless to say I will not be visiting again. (They only offer two veg dishes and the other is often not on the menu) I hate to write a review that is other than positive but think I should warn others what they can expect.

I came to the pub on sat 28th for our 50th anniversary with the family of 12 people. The meal and service was ok and the bill came to approx £400. I then notice than someone have handwritten that a service charge would be added to the bill which was approx £40. Of course I refused to pay this service charge, it looked a bit of a con to us, being hand written on the bill. I would suggest that you put this service charge on the MENU so people can see it. I would have left the Pub On arrival if it hade been advertised, and not come again, like many other party's, after all this is only a pub not 5 star food, Regards M Parker.

The Knot of Rope was one of the best places we visited in the UK. We stayed the night at Thornbury Castle, but went down into town to The Knot for drinks, such fun and nice people, we loved it! Highly, Highly recommend!

Friday lunchtime and we had walked into Jamie’s Italian next door which was utterly deserted. Copa, in contrast, was buzzing. You could tell it used to be a traditional sort of pub but they have rebranded and the place was almost full. Good sound system playing an eclectic mix of tunes, racing on TV (this is Cheltenham, after all) and an interesting menu and wine list. Lots of people of all ages dining too. I would imagine at night this place gets quite lively.

I went to Stoney's on the opening night. The waiting staff are very young, unprepared and don't listen. I ordered a lemonade and ended up wearing it, ordered a salmon salad and was presented with a overcooked salmon fillet. The manageress was defensive and unapologetic. Terrible service, disgusting food. Will never go back.
