Excellant venue to treat someone special. We took my daughter for her 21st Birthday, and WOW, really special. A lot of money, but well worth it

It is one of the best pubs that I have been in for a long time, very pleasant and friendly.

The pub has recently been taken over and the new landlords have brought over a couple of Thai chefs. The menu has been extended to include a very good selection of genuine Thai food. Definitely worth a visit.

The welcome was really warm and the service very quick and friendly with a vast choice of real ales, lagers and wine. I ordered a rare steak and it was cooked to perfection which is a rarity.

We regularly bring personnel across from our offices in India and this was one of the only true Indian restaurants we found in the area that served authentic food from the region. The menu was varied and the cost was reasonable as well.

This is a truly outstanding pub boasting excellent quality food and ales served in idyllic 'traditional' surroundings. I had the best roast dinner I have ever eaten here recently and I am a pretty tough judge I can assure you. I would have rated the food as outstanding except my (equally demanding) partner rated her goat's cheese salad a 'only average' (I must admit that the salad leaves looked pretty uninspiring). Beers are from Young's and were in excellent nick. Prices are around £8-10 per main course so on the upper end of the pub grub spectrum but this is not normal pub grub. Sunday lunchtimes can be a bit of a scrum. A truly good country pub experience within a few miles of Bristol.

Every time I go there I keep thinking how fantastic to be living at 4 miles from such a fantastic place since anyway we would be prepare to travel for the pleasure of eating over there. Most of all: the food is authentic, fresh and high standard and "décor" helps you having the feeling that you have left England and that you are somewhere in Phuket For the smokers: there is a half open-air terrace with "heating parasols?and lots fairy lights! Magic atmosphere! If there was a smoking area indoor room I would go more often...in winter.

A very cosey pub with open fires and flag stone floors. The food is good value for money and has a regular menu supported by a daily specials board. The food presentation was excellent with a garnishing of crispy root veg being diffrent to the norm. There were 3 Real Ales on offer on my recent visit, of which the Otter Ale from Honiton was served in perfect condition. Courage Best and Old Speckled Hen being the others available.
