I have eaten in many restaurants around the world only to find that one of the finest Chinese restaurants was on my door step. The food is of excellent quality with one of the best selections I have seen. Henry (the manager) and his staff will give you a warm welcome and make you feel at home. If you love good food you will love Henry’s.

Both myself and my husband eat out quite often,we were very taken back by the excellent welcome we received by Henry the Manager, nothing was to much of a problem for any of the staff. The Restaurant was very warm and welcoming although the lighting was a bit bright for a cosy romantic night, having eaten there on valentines night the fixed price menu with a free bottle of wine went down a treat with a balloon,Chocolates and rose for the lady, and of course a kiss from the waiter (Frankie) we were very impressed. The food was nicely presented and all three courses cooked to perfection, compliments to the chefs (Sung) and May.

We loved this pub it is so traditional in every way. Log fires, wood beams and the food is very good, real food and generous portions. Very cosy and great atmosphere. We will be back.

Golden Heart Inn – Gloucester

Nice place, food was good (not great!) but quite expensive! Sharing platter of tempura veg £9, 5 tiny gyoza £5 and a pork ramen £10.50. Everything was fine but a couple of quid per dish more than we thought it was worth. Probably won't go back.

Soushi – Cirencester

Place is the 5hitest place iv ever eaten, starters were ok but mains were awful

Mumtaz – Thornbury
Buff

Lovely Thai food, relaxed atmosphere, attentive & friendly staff. In the covered area outside the tables have suspended swinging seats - great on a warm evening. I have been several times and always enjoy it.

Previously going to Tipputs was an experience not to be found anywhere else. Locally sourced veg and meat, tenderly cooked with that twist of fine dinning not to be found in any other gastropub. Now, it a sub-normal pub. The food is bland and has the same care taken to it as a microwaved meal. The scallop starter was so salty you couldn't taste the tender flavours and the chickens apricot sauce was so sweet I couldn't bare to have dessert. All in all change is not good for Tipputs! Bring back the old chef and the old menu. Recession I hear you scream? No! Reconstituted meat!

We stayed at the Hotel du Vin for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The hotel is in the hip/boutique part of town Montpelier in what I guess is an old regency building. We dined one night and really enjoyed our meals. As the name of the hotel would indicate the wine list is excellent and a weighty tome! I was a bit surprised that a list of bins this vast had a very small/limited food menu to match. However I have absolutely no complaint about the quality. The service was very good also, although no member of staff seemed older than 30 and perhaps the gravitas of age was missing on the front desk. The place has a cool vibe overall and the guests we saw were very much at home in this environment. Overall I'd give it a 7.5/10, well worth a visit to stay and or eat!

St James Hotel – Cheltenham

This place is fabulous! Its an art deco cinema converted into a restaurant with bar in the upper circle. Takes you back in time but the food is modern British and very good.

We had a brief 3 night stay at Lower SM a couple of weeks ago - excellent service; discreet yet exceptionally friendly. As the hotel was quiet, we ate once in the main restaurant and enjoyed a fine dining experience. Again the service was efficient, and warm, with food excellent across all courses. What was really appealing to us was the opportunity to use to restaurant and bar at Washbourne Court, the Von Essen sister hotel across the road and river for a really superb bar and dinner. All in all a memorable stay.

Lower Slaughter Manor – Cheltenham
Mattandam

Visited Dino's for the first time last night. Excellent Meze for two with a good bottle of Cypriot wine(Aphrodite), pleasant little restaurant with good & friendly service. Meal for two was just over £60 with drinks and dessert - excellent value, will return. (Restaurant is open Wednesday - Saturday)

Dinos Village Taverna – Gloucester
Slim-jim

Nice food and surroundings, and the staff were on the ball. Good selection of dishes to choose from.

Langton – Cheltenham

many people think India lounge is an excellent Indian restaurant well i was very disappointed. four of us went in for a meal and were seated in the window which with their table layout we found very restricted ,having people practically eating off your table. I could write a lot more of our experience there but don't have the time, just to say if you would like to enjoy a GOOD indian restaurant then try THE BLUE LAGOON in Evesham .( now that is a good place to eat)
