Amazing food & service!!
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereLovely food, in a cosy, friendly setting. Good value. All staff were helpful, attentive and food tasted great. Thank you.
Goody Blake’s – GrasmereWe've eaten at Lewis's Bistro a few times now when we are in Grasmere and every meal has been memorable. Food is perfectly cooked (the sauces particularly fine!) and while the wine list is small, it's perfectly formed. The service from the friendly staff is skilled and attentive. Highly recommended, we are already looking forward to a return visit.
Lewis’s Bistro – Grasmerelovely family restaurant, warm and welcoming and superb food - we had scallops for starters, filet steak and eaton mess and affogato for dessert - all absolutely first class and great service. We came here 2 years ago and will always come again when we are here. Great wine selection too - a very smooth Malbec thank you for a very special evening

Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereOur first visit of 2025 did not disappoint. We had a lovely warm welcome from Amanda & Lewis. The food was amazing as always. We will be back in June & would highly recommend any one to visit this lovely cosy Bistro in the beautiful village of Grasmere. We have been going to this Bistro for at least 7 years and it never disappoints.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereOur second visit did not disappoint. Quietish early evening slot and everything was good. The food was delicious and the service was smooth.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereHad a absolutely lovely meal here while we were staying in Grassmere. I had Scallops to start cooked to perfection, followed by surf and turf. My husband had terrine to start followed by the lamb rump every element delightful. Small family run business really excellent service. We would come back if in the area again thank you.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereA cozy, friendly, restaurant with excellent food.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe revisited this charming bistro for the second time last Saturday. It was every bit as good as we remembered! The food was absolutely gorgeous and the waiting staff so friendly and informative. My steak was a little overcooked and the portion of peppercorn sauce was tiny, hence the 4/5 food review. However the steak was melt in the mouth and our lovely waitress said I could have had more sauce if I'd asked. Lesson leaned! Would definitely recommend. Will definitely go back.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereAbsolutely amazing food and service. Lovely and warm inside as well. We will be definitely back x
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. I am a diagnosed Coeliac and felt very confident that the chef would do his utmost to avoid cross contamination, although it was a small kitchen. Saying that, talking to the chef afterwards, he said that he doesn’t have flour in his kitchen. He uses cornflour if he has to. With regards to atmosphere , my husband and I were the first customers in for the early sitting, although gradually during our meal the restaurant did fill up. We didn’t feel rushed or uncomfortable though. I had salmon which was delicious and a huge piece. My husband had the Belly Pork which he thoroughly enjoyed. We ate here originally on the Wednesday night and before leaving, booked again for the Saturday night. I would definitely recommend.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereA superb restaurant with a great menu. The warm friendly service was first class. I would not hesitate recommending this restaurant to anyone. We will definitely be back.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereAs said previously, a little gem of a find. I am Coeliac and the chef (presume owner) came out to explain what I could have r that was gluten free and how he could adapt sauces. The meal was absolutely delicious. We booked for 6.45pm and it was a shame that there were only three tables in use, one being a single diner, all the time we were there. This was on a Friday night as well. I don’t know why but the location may put people off as it’s situated at the back of the chocolate shop and the outside doesn’t seem very welcoming. There is also a For Sale board prominently displayed on the building. I don’t know if this is the restaurant or the building itself. It’s a real shame as the chef obviously knew what he was doing and both my husband’s and my meal, were absolutely superb. He really deserves to be better patronised. It most definitely warrants a five star rating.
Goody Blake’s – GrasmereThe service was a little less than professional. The sea bass was good. The lamb was somewhat overcooked for my taste and the accompanying fondant potatoes burnt on top, so a rather mediocre dish. The sticky toffee pudding was very good. However I would have thought it difficult to spoil Eton Mess but the fruit in it was tasteless. There was dance music playing for some reason, which didn't add much to the ambience.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereFood was really good. However we were on the second sitting - 8pm and 3 of the items were sold out on the mains. I would return however but book on the 1st sitting
Lewis’s Bistro – Grasmere5 star
